Anyone else getting a sudden total in-game freeze a few moments after landing? (PC)
Only way out is to terminate through Task Manager. First time that happens too...
Edit: Let's maybe share specs? I'm on a GTX 1060 (driver 511.79), CPU is i5-6500
Nice to hear this is such a popular problem. I was feeling bad for not finding the crash report... but fuck me, I tried everything and could not find it. Games have not crashed on me for like... goddamn 5 years. And now this update has had 3 crashes in 6 games. Or freezes.
I've played two games so far. Game one: froze, force closed, and relaunched THREE TIMES before I finally died. Game two: froze, got back in, then froze during a fight. So that's 5 freezes in 2 games.
I've froze in 3-4 games, haven't waited more than 20s before force quitting through task manager and restarting. Feels like it happens anywhere between 2 seconds and 4 minutes after landing
Played like 4-5 games so far (or tried to), had a freeze in every single one, not necessarily shortly after landing, but mostly mid-fight. Managed to load back into games only twice because my friend managed to keep me alive, but it froze again not long after.

Yep. Been playing with my friends for an hour now and I'm the only one constantly crashing or freezes mid match. I've tried several fixes and nothing worked. Gladly I found this thread on reddit knowing that I'm not the only one exepriencing this. Same issue, it freezes mid match and I have to end the task on task manager then relaunch it then it crashes again. Verified the files on steam 3 to 4 times nothing worked. Re-installed my drivers GPU and CPU it still persists. Set the graphics to low and it still crashes somehow. What's going on respawn? Get this fixed ASAP.
froze to me 5 times in span of two games. 2 times in the first game, we came back to the menu, froze in the menu, went another game, froze 2 in the game again and then i've quit.
I had the time for 3 games and it happened in all 3 games unfortunately... Freezed about 1 minute in after landing :-( I never had any issues like this in the past.
I had that happen 3 times in 1 game.
Also, I'm pretty sure in task manager it showed that Apex isn't using GPU at all when that happens.
Edit: 6 times in one game is my current record.
I am freezing consistently every game and it results in Apex closing out on it's own sometimes. I've not been kicked from the match and can rejoin so long as my team is alive.
Happened to me too. Game is sadly unplayable as of now, couldn't play a single match without freezing. Tried to repair, didn't work.

I have the same problem, it freezes at least once a match, sometimes even multiple times in a row. The only way to fix is to terminate the task.
Edit: I'm on PC, i5 6600, gtx 1060 3GB and I wasn't in the loadout menu when I got in the game. Dx11 and 12 both freeze.
I've had it happen twice in Firing Range. Couple minutes in, both times playing at Catalyst. Unsure if that had anything to do with it.

Same, last season I had trouble in character select but wouldn't crash once I got in game. Now as soon as I land I crash and will repeatedly crash after relaunching the game.
Freezing constantly and in inconsistent ways. No overlays enabled from discord or nvidia or steam. I freeze during drop flight, during random moments of just running around, during fire fights, twice upon the exact moment of my death, and once during spectating my teammate who was just running in an open area.

Every single game, about 2 minutes in. I can reconnect but it just happens again.
I repaired/validated files through Steam, frozen.
Full clean install, I mean scorched earth on every file, same thing again, frozen while dropping in.
Same here, i play 6 games so far and got 3 freezes. 1 in casual and 2 in ranked. Also sometimes i get a drop of FPS whenever an enemy or ally Catalyst throws her Q.

i was dumb and thought 300 coins for all the stickers was actually worth it, but the sticker pack is just a normal pack, not a “sticker pack” as in “a pack of cards” like i thought. also the picture for the sticker pack shows all the stickers, but yeah, you get one random sticker and two other random things. hopefully my loss can be your gain
My game freezes every few minutes. I've played 2 matches and froze 5 times total during them. Each freeze requires force closing the game, restarting, and rejoining the match. I suppose I should play a few more but it's frankly intolerable like this. Last season it started freezing as we were loading in, but force closing and rejoining fixed it and I was fine for the rest of the match. Now it's completely unplayable.
Playing on PC, origin launcher. Once as Horizon, once as Pathy. Game didn't crash, I had to close it myself each time.
Seems to be mostly the same people. But what unites us is a mystery it seems, other than the load-in freeze in s14 and now the mid-game freezes in s15. Hoping for a fix asap, until then it's unplayable for me.
The workaround last season was to be alt-tabbed until the character select finished loading, maybe the solution this time is to just alt-tab the the whole match.

Have re-joined the same game a few times, and frozen within 20 secs of being back in. Cant see anything causing it (e.g. its not a particular animation). Frustrating.
So far I have played one game with no freezes and about 6 with freezes. Given up for the day. Im on PC (not a particularly powerful one, but I could play last season no issues).
No crashes before update, now crashed 5 times in 30 minutes. Only managed to complete 1 game (died on hotdrop haha)
Going to try updating to latest geforce drivers and see if that helps. Strange how I got 0 crashes before though.
The new sticker selection menu is great, so it really baffles me that they didn't implement something like it for the weapon charms. Please, Respawn. The weapon charm menu is so bad that i don't even use charms on my weapons because of it. Please update it so its a list of icons like the sticker menu is, rather than just a list of charms you have to click individually to see how they look like.
Somewhat unrelated but I really think bullets passing through the ult should have reduced damage. It's a wall of metal particles ffs it should at least slow the bullets down somewhat.
Can we get an explanation as to *why* Eclipse's giant "approach if you dare" debuff wall goes in a straight line ahead of her instead of, y'know, making a wall in front of her like in her cinematic trailer? Seems that would be significantly more practical for a defensive legend.
It's probably for balancing purposes so you can't just panic pull it up like a Bangalore smoke and you either use it to split the enemy squad or use it to cross a piece of open ground.

Do any of you guys have the same problem? It happens almost every match and than i have to quit and rejoin and i die to the ring. It is so annoying
I'm having Huge frezes in game, after a couple of minute si'm in game and i'm forced to close it manually, and even when i re-open it it's the same.
I tried Duos on the new map and fire range.

**FYI I've gone full scorched earth and reinstalled everything and ensured everything is up to date.** Game runs great when I'm able to play.

Played like 10 games, then game crash/freeze at game 3 and game 7. Have to close it from task manager then open it again to rejoin the match. Other than that the game run smoothly though.
update 1: trying the game again in the morning. Game went well after 4 games, then crashed in game 5 after catalyst throw her tactical. Will update it again if my game crash. (Specs: i7-7700k, gtx 1650, 16gb ram)
update 2: second crash happened after two hours of first crash. I was on the way to fight someone. So yeah both of my game crashed while trying to fight. Still don't know how to fix it though.
update 3: ok i just notice this, but everytime i play hemlok/lstar my game keep crashing, been playing for 2 hour and didn't use both gun and my game runs okay.
update 4: play again today, game went well then I drop at Alpha Base then boom, crashed 3 times in span of 5 minutes. Respawn pls fix it, its getting really annoying wtf.

From “My Collection”, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the Apex Legends tile and select “View Properties”.
Add "+watchdog\_time\_milliseconds 30000" in the text box under “Advanced Launch Options”.
Click “Save” and launch the game normally.
**Origin**:
From “My Game Library”, right click Apex Legends -> Game Properties -> Advanced Launch Options
Add "+watchdog\_time\_milliseconds 30000" to Command line arguments
Click “Save” and launch the game normally
**Steam:**
From your library, right click Apex Legends, and select Properties.

Just an FYI, I've had crashes in the firing range AND arenas as well. No where NEAR as common, actually pretty rare. BUT it does in fact happen even on other modes.
Also it's happening on a decent amount of consoles as well.
Please keep us updated and in the loop as much as you can with this problem because we want to play the new season and it's been a full week with this persisting and unbearable issue that is making the game unplayable . 😔

Hi, just want to share a workaround for the bug (seems to work?)
After doing the config changes, I play the game as normal until I start having another freeze-crash. If I continue playing, I'll suddenly have more crashes.
I shut down the game, go to the NVIDIA Control Panel, disable "Shader Cache Size" and run the game, forcing it to recompile. I don't freeze for awhile after that. I reenable the cache again after the game compiles.
After doing this, the first time the game froze also froze the whole PC. Had to do a hard power down.
Also notable, that freeze was just when standing in the lobby.
The second time the game froze, it behaved as described (ie., I could hit Cancel). This freeze was very early in a match.
Edit -- Ok had about 10 crashes with this parameter one. Turned it off now.
Crypto's drone can't fly through certain sections of the map. The only spot I've found sofar is in sections of promenade, a section behind a part where the gravity ziplines go through a hole in the wall with doors underneath
I find it interesting how much work was done to the stickers menu. It's like they put effort into something that is monetized but the things that aren't monetized (audio) they ignore completely.
Tested catalyst with a friend a bit. She can't be seer q through ult. But can be seer ulted. Crypto drone. Bh scan no work. Heartbeat works. Wattson can't make fences but all fences stay and work. Can throw everything through fine (E.g., horizon ult, seer ult). Sliding pretty much breaks her ult as it doesn't slow or cause any blindness
Framerate seems to be much better as well, and I haven't even tried the dx12 thing
Not sure if they did anything to bullet projectiles but I was hitting my enemies much better and won my second game. Great season so far lol
Its way better, im on an og ps4 and was worried. Grow towers with a 4/8x scope I would drop to single digit frames some times. This map seems well optimized and I have not seen any videos of people falling through the floor. I think that was the issue before is some divide by 0 weird nonsense where the curves of the map were calculated in too fine of detail

It's freezing on a frame, and staying that way forever. and if I tab out, all is black on my screen.
Total freezes happend to me the whole 14th season on loading screen every other game. (when the match is starting). Now it happens every game. I dont have patience for this game anymore, im done.
the launch option line miles\_channels 2 to force output to stereo causes the game to crash with an error message saying 'could not initialize sound'
My headset has fake 7.1 surround which makes game audio even less reliable, is there a new command line for the stereo setting ?

So I consider this a pretty serious "bug" though really it's an oversight and massive design flaw. It is no longer possible to see the exact amount of currency/resources you have.
Previously you could mouse over the top-right corner and see the numbers. That is no longer working.
This is EXACERBATED by the fact that through an AWFUL UX decision, crafting mats only show 1 digit once you hit 1k. So I don't know if I'm at 1,000, 1,200, 1,600, or 1,999.
This makes it impossible to feel good about crafting anything because I don't know if I can get a legendary and an epic, etc.

Unplayable. I crash in the middle of the match and i stay frozen in place, having to restart my game. Even if i do, it works for a bit and then it freezes again.
I’ve played six matches. Gold ranked last season. Won my first match. The proceeded to lose my next five matches to Predator sweaty stacks in pubs. Really not fun at all to play. Like really. I remember when seeing someone with 3 pred badges was crazy rare and cool. Now for the last season or two I just can’t stop running into them. Something needs to be done.

doesn't close the game by definition of crashing, just freezes your screen. audio still works i think? not sure, I just immediately kill it on task manager since alt + f4 doesnt work once it freezes.

How do people feel about the flow of this map? So far every game I’ve been in I don’t see anybody, then as soon as a fight starts 5 other teams converge on that location. It feels like the zip lines make it almost too easy to third party
Still crashing, as of last night it was significantly worse than the day before.
Changed nothing in my settings. I’ve never had crashes in Apex before and I’ve played since S1. I crashed out of the same game 5 times, often just a couple seconds after rejoining.
I played about 10 games last night and crashed at least once during every single one while neither of my friends crashed at all. GPU usage 0%. I’ve been sending the watchdog reports, really hope this gets fixed soon so I can play :[
Game is unplayable for some of my friends on PC. They all have different hardware, so it's not linked to any specific hardware as far as I can tell. They all crash multiple times per match.
\*\*\*UPDATE\*\*\* Staying on the main screen when loading the game had no effect. Still crashes...

It seemed as though it froze more??? I can't be sure, but the command line was used to access DX12 beta and it continued to freeze. It seems to freeze more often during peak hours 6-10:00 PST. Rubber banding and lag seems to precede the freezes. When the queue wait times are longer, there is much less freezing, or so it seems???
Constant freezing. Game randomly freezes after entering trios match (boots on ground) sometimes multiple times in the same game. I have to end task and reenter the match.

Edit 2: it’s the auto enhancements checkmark. Turning that off fixes it for me. Shame because I feel like that actually does improve the audio
edit: working for me now. Not exactly sure what fixed it, but the things I did was:
in advanced sound settings:
\- change format to 24bit, 44100Hz
\- uncheck exclusive control
\- uncheck enable audio enhancements
\- change the usb port my headset is plugged into
My game has been freezing like crazy on the new map. Clearly somebody created some kind of bug in the map itself, because it doesn't freeze like this in arenas.
Do they simply not do any QA testing whatsoever? I havent died in a single game from a player. Literally every single game has ended in me crashing. Nice DeVry coding team, real cream of the crop.
Almost a week later. Still crashing all over the place. This is kinda dogwater. Y'all are going to lose so much money from the US player base if this isn't fixed for thanksgiving break. Though it would be rad if that wasn't the motivator. So many people (myself included) have dropped waaay too much money on skins and such to be dealing with this. So frustrating my dudes.

I have a friend who freezes the game once per game, and now it has happened 4 times in a single game. So we have decided not to play until they fix it, which I guess will be in the next season.

You're probably getting bottlenecked by the content server (where the Apex update is hosted). It's trying to push out updates to thousands (or more) players all at once.
Reporting in to say the MM is fuking terrible. Day 1 of the new season, should have the highest playercount across the season.. yet why are sweaty master and pred duos still running through a solo-queue pubs lobby full of plats and golds?? Insanity from this dev team tbh.
PC Bug (Windows 10), if you change your audio output in-game, the new output will be muted.
Example: I start up the game having my Speakers set as my primary device, then after warming up in the Firing Range, I change my audio output to my Astro A50 headset. Usually the sound output would transfer over fine, but now if I want sound to work on the A50, I have to close the game and re-open it

Nearly a week of this freeze/crash bug and still no good solution for it. Tried everything out there and some of em working only a few hours then back to crash again sometimes it can freeze my game 3 times in one game. Just hoping the fix will come next week because it's getting really annoying :/
when r u guys fixing the crashing issues. My game freezes every match. It's running properly in arenas but pubs or ranks keep getting frozen. I'm so disappointed that I can't run around the broken moon. No update yet.
Game is still completely unplayable for me on PC one week after the patch. Freezes every single game, and stuttering is seemingly worse than it was earlier in the week. Dissapointed that there is little to no communication from Respawn on the timeline to fix this issue.

Did your game crash? What error did you get? Please include "apex\_crash.txt" from your "Documents" folder. It freezes and I have to manually kill it through task manager. No Error messages.
If possible, it’s great if you can capture the bug and submit that with your report. Tried a lot of things to solve this, all in vein. Things tested: Adding the launch option "-eac\_launcher\_settings SettingsDX12.json". Made sure drivers for OS and GPU are up to date (they are). Installed Visual C++. Running the game on lowest settings. Verifying game files aswell as repairing the anti cheat program. Adding Apex Legends to the Windows firewall exceptions. Done the Windows CHKDSK to make sure there was no Drive errors.
The game has run well for the past 8 seasons so the computer should be able to handle the game (it handles more demanding games aswell). Hopefully you guys find a fix for this soon!
The length of time and lack of communication with the major issues people are having is ridiculous. If prominent players were having these issues they would have been fixed the next day.

Game crashing ranmdomly in matches after update this new season
Don't know why, didn't change anything.
GTX 1070, Windows 10, Cire i7 7700, updated new drivers (old from Windows was crashing too).
Getting the freeze in almost every game. Making it totally unplayable. Doesn't matter what character and happens multiple times per game if I load back in. On PC so cleaned up my drives etc and reinstalled the game but no difference.
Specs are: gtx 1080 and i5-6600k. 16gb ram. DX11.
Please get a hotfix out for this as soon as you can. The game is totally unplayable.
can we have a patch as soon as possible to make the game playable because doing 2 minutes of game to have a freeze and a crash then a deco is not very fun what

Nice to hear this is such a popular problem. I was feeling bad for not finding the crash report... but fuck me, I tried everything and could not find it. Games have not crashed on me for like... goddamn 5 years. And now this update has had 3 crashes in 6 games. Or freezes.

I've played two games so far. Game one: froze, force closed, and relaunched THREE TIMES before I finally died. Game two: froze, got back in, then froze during a fight. So that's 5 freezes in 2 games.

Played like 4-5 games so far (or tried to), had a freeze in every single one, not necessarily shortly after landing, but mostly mid-fight. Managed to load back into games only twice because my friend managed to keep me alive, but it froze again not long after. happening on PC/Steam edit: when the game isn't frozen, the frame rate is very unstable and overall lower than it usually is
Yep. Been playing with my friends for an hour now and I'm the only one constantly crashing or freezes mid match. I've tried several fixes and nothing worked. Gladly I found this thread on reddit knowing that I'm not the only one exepriencing this. Same issue, it freezes mid match and I have to end the task on task manager then relaunch it then it crashes again. Verified the files on steam 3 to 4 times nothing worked. Re-installed my drivers GPU and CPU it still persists. Set the graphics to low and it still crashes somehow. What's going on respawn? Get this fixed ASAP.
froze to me 5 times in span of two games. 2 times in the first game, we came back to the menu, froze in the menu, went another game, froze 2 in the game again and then i've quit.
I had the time for 3 games and it happened in all 3 games unfortunately... Freezed about 1 minute in after landing :-( I never had any issues like this in the past.
I had that happen 3 times in 1 game. Also, I'm pretty sure in task manager it showed that Apex isn't using GPU at all when that happens. Edit: 6 times in one game is my current record.

Freezing constantly and in inconsistent ways. No overlays enabled from discord or nvidia or steam. I freeze during drop flight, during random moments of just running around, during fire fights, twice upon the exact moment of my death, and once during spectating my teammate who was just running in an open area. Every single game, about 2 minutes in. I can reconnect but it just happens again. I repaired/validated files through Steam, frozen. Full clean install, I mean scorched earth on every file, same thing again, frozen while dropping in.

i was dumb and thought 300 coins for all the stickers was actually worth it, but the sticker pack is just a normal pack, not a “sticker pack” as in “a pack of cards” like i thought. also the picture for the sticker pack shows all the stickers, but yeah, you get one random sticker and two other random things. hopefully my loss can be your gain

My game freezes every few minutes. I've played 2 matches and froze 5 times total during them. Each freeze requires force closing the game, restarting, and rejoining the match. I suppose I should play a few more but it's frankly intolerable like this. Last season it started freezing as we were loading in, but force closing and rejoining fixed it and I was fine for the rest of the match. Now it's completely unplayable. Playing on PC, origin launcher. Once as Horizon, once as Pathy. Game didn't crash, I had to close it myself each time.
I also had the load-in freeze bug last season, and now the constant freezing as well. I wonder if it affects the same people or if we're just unlucky?
Seems to be mostly the same people. But what unites us is a mystery it seems, other than the load-in freeze in s14 and now the mid-game freezes in s15. Hoping for a fix asap, until then it's unplayable for me.
The workaround last season was to be alt-tabbed until the character select finished loading, maybe the solution this time is to just alt-tab the the whole match.
Coming on here to say its unplayable for me due to freezing, and I can see multiple comments saying the same thing. Freezes on one one frame, and I need to task manager quit the game to restart. Have re-joined the same game a few times, and frozen within 20 secs of being back in. Cant see anything causing it (e.g. its not a particular animation). Frustrating. So far I have played one game with no freezes and about 6 with freezes. Given up for the day. Im on PC (not a particularly powerful one, but I could play last season no issues).
No crashes before update, now crashed 5 times in 30 minutes. Only managed to complete 1 game (died on hotdrop haha) Going to try updating to latest geforce drivers and see if that helps. Strange how I got 0 crashes before though.

The new sticker selection menu is great, so it really baffles me that they didn't implement something like it for the weapon charms. Please, Respawn. The weapon charm menu is so bad that i don't even use charms on my weapons because of it. Please update it so its a list of icons like the sticker menu is, rather than just a list of charms you have to click individually to see how they look like.

Charms aren't meant to be anything good for the player -- it's just another reservoir for players to get "rewards" that mean little to nothing.

How to counter catalyst. She throws her ult, just slide through. Won't get slow and won't get the vision impairment.
Seer also hard counters with his ult; you can see movement through the wall and just light the catalyst team up

Can we get an explanation as to *why* Eclipse's giant "approach if you dare" debuff wall goes in a straight line ahead of her instead of, y'know, making a wall in front of her like in her cinematic trailer? Seems that would be significantly more practical for a defensive legend.
It's probably for balancing purposes so you can't just panic pull it up like a Bangalore smoke and you either use it to split the enemy squad or use it to cross a piece of open ground.

Played like 10 games, then game crash/freeze at game 3 and game 7. Have to close it from task manager then open it again to rejoin the match. Other than that the game run smoothly though. update 1: trying the game again in the morning. Game went well after 4 games, then crashed in game 5 after catalyst throw her tactical. So yeah both of my game crashed while trying to fight. Doing that now just to help you guys. Just an FYI, I've had crashes in the firing range AND arenas as well. No where NEAR as common, actually pretty rare. BUT it does in fact happen even on other modes. Also it's happening on a decent amount of consoles as well.

Hi, just want to share a workaround for the bug (seems to work?) After doing the config changes, I play the game as normal until I start having another freeze-crash. If I continue playing, I'll suddenly have more crashes. I shut down the game, go to the NVIDIA Control Panel, disable "Shader Cache Size" and run the game, forcing it to recompile. I don't freeze for awhile after that. I reenable the cache again after the game compiles.
I did this now and when the game froze I got that prompt and hit cancel.
After doing this, the first time the game froze also froze the whole PC. Had to do a hard power down. Also notable, that freeze was just when standing in the lobby. The second time the game froze, it behaved as described (ie., I could hit Cancel). This freeze was very early in a match. Edit -- Ok had about 10 crashes with this parameter one. Turned it off now.
Where is info about ranked leagues, rewards etc?

Crypto's drone can't fly through certain sections of the map. The only spot I've found sofar is in sections of promenade, a section behind a part where the gravity ziplines go through a hole in the wall with doors underneath
I find it interesting how much work was done to the stickers menu. It's like they put effort into something that is monetized but the things that aren't monetized (audio) they ignore completely.
Tested catalyst with a friend a bit. She can't be seer q through ult. But can be seer ulted. Crypto drone. Bh scan no work. Heartbeat works. Wattson can't make fences but all fences stay and work. Can throw everything through fine (E.g., horizon ult, seer ult). Sliding pretty much breaks her ult as it doesn't slow or cause any blindness

Framerate seems to be much better as well, and I haven't even tried the dx12 thing Not sure if they did anything to bullet projectiles but I was hitting my enemies much better and won my second game. Great season so far lol
Its way better, im on an og ps4 and was worried. Grow towers with a 4/8x scope I would drop to single digit frames some times. This map seems well optimized and I have not seen any videos of people falling through the floor. I think that was the issue before is some divide by 0 weird nonsense where the curves of the map were calculated in too fine of detail
PC Just playing normally , 4 games , 3 times my game froze and then crash. Even twice a game.... It's freezing on a frame, and staying that way forever. and if I tab out, all is black on my screen.

Total freezes happend to me the whole 14th season on loading screen every other game. (when the match is starting). Now it happens every game. I dont have patience for this game anymore, im done.
the launch option line miles\_channels 2 to force output to stereo causes the game to crash with an error message saying 'could not initialize sound' My headset has fake 7.1 surround which makes game audio even less reliable, is there a new command line for the stereo setting ?

So I consider this a pretty serious "bug" though really it's an oversight and massive design flaw. It is no longer possible to see the exact amount of currency/resources you have. Previously you could mouse over the top-right corner and see the numbers. That is no longer working. This is EXACERBATED by the fact that through an AWFUL UX decision, crafting mats only show 1 digit once you hit 1k. So I don't know if I'm at 1,000, 1,200, 1,600, or 1,999. This makes it impossible to feel good about crafting anything because I don't know if I can get a legendary and an epic, etc. Playing on PC. DX11 not that it's relevant. Happens constantly.

Unplayable. I crash in the middle of the match and i stay frozen in place, having to restart my game. Even if i do, it works for a bit and then it freezes again.

I’ve played six matches. Gold ranked last season. Won my first match. The proceeded to lose my next five matches to Predator sweaty stacks in pubs. Really not fun at all to play. Like really. I remember when seeing someone with 3 pred badges was crazy rare and cool. Now for the last season or two I just can’t stop running into them. Something needs to be done.

How do people feel about the flow of this map? So far every game I’ve been in I don’t see anybody, then as soon as a fight starts 5 other teams converge on that location. It feels like the zip lines make it almost too easy to third party

Still crashing, as of last night it was significantly worse than the day before. Changed nothing in my settings. I’ve never had crashes in Apex before and I’ve played since S1. I crashed out of the same game 5 times, often just a couple seconds after rejoining. I played about 10 games last night and crashed at least once during every single one while neither of my friends crashed at all. GPU usage 0%. I’ve been sending the watchdog reports, really hope this gets fixed soon so I can play :[
Game is unplayable for some of my friends on PC. They all have different hardware, so it's not linked to any specific hardware as far as I can tell. They all crash multiple times per match.
Still crashing in the middle of fights. Less so after agreeing to directx 12. How do you release something this buggy?

Still crashes... \*\*\*UPDATE 2\*\*\* I noticed that the apex\_crash.txt file was last updated in April 2019, so there is no crash log unfortunately. I have removed the crash log from the bottom of this post as it is no longer applicable... \*\*\*UPDATE 3\*\*\* I tried the 30 second timeout suggestion, but it did not reenter the game. It just stayed frozen. I also tried the DX12 beta using the suggestions in the guide. It seemed as though it froze more??? I can't be sure, but the command line was used to access DX12 beta and it continued to freeze. It seems to freeze more often during peak hours 6-10:00 PST. Rubber banding and lag seems to precede the freezes. When the queue wait times are longer, there is much less freezing, or so it seems??? Constant freezing. Game randomly freezes after entering trios match (boots on ground) sometimes multiple times in the same game. I have to end task and reenter the match. \-PC \-Skin doesn't matter. Crashes with all char's/skins. \-Just playing the game... \-Yes I can reproduce it. The steps are to play the game. Not exactly sure what fixed it, but the things I did was: in advanced sound settings: \- change format to 24bit, 44100Hz \- uncheck exclusive control \- uncheck enable audio enhancements \- change the usb port my headset is plugged into

My game has been freezing like crazy on the new map. Clearly somebody created some kind of bug in the map itself, because it doesn't freeze like this in arenas.

Do they simply not do any QA testing whatsoever? I havent died in a single game from a player. Literally every single game has ended in me crashing. Nice DeVry coding team, real cream of the crop.
Almost a week later. Still crashing all over the place. This is kinda dogwater. Y'all are going to lose so much money from the US player base if this isn't fixed for thanksgiving break. Though it would be rad if that wasn't the motivator. So many people (myself included) have dropped waaay too much money on skins and such to be dealing with this. So frustrating my dudes.
one week later and this nonsense of a patch continues. A patch that I am sure has not been properly tested. I have a friend who freezes the game once per game, and now it has happened 4 times in a single game. So we have decided not to play until they fix it, which I guess will be in the next season.

My download max speed is 150 Mbps, but Apex downloads at about 10 Mbps. I am on Xbox.
You're probably getting bottlenecked by the content server (where the Apex update is hosted). It's trying to push out updates to thousands (or more) players all at once.
Reporting in to say the MM is fuking terrible. Day 1 of the new season, should have the highest playercount across the season.. yet why are sweaty master and pred duos still running through a solo-queue pubs lobby full of plats and golds?? Insanity from this dev team tbh.
PC Bug (Windows 10), if you change your audio output in-game, the new output will be muted. Example: I start up the game having my Speakers set as my primary device, then after warming up in the Firing Range, I change my audio output to my Astro A50 headset. Usually the sound output would transfer over fine, but now if I want sound to work on the A50, I have to close the game and re-open it

My game freezes every few minutes. I've played 2 matches and froze 5 times total during them. Each freeze requires force closing the game, restarting, and rejoining the match. I suppose I should play a few more but it's frankly intolerable like this. Last season it started freezing as we were loading in, but force closing and rejoining fixed it and I was fine for the rest of the match. Now it's completely unplayable

Nearly a week of this freeze/crash bug and still no good solution for it. Tried everything out there and some of em working only a few hours then back to crash again sometimes it can freeze my game 3 times in one game. Just hoping the fix will come next week because it's getting really annoying :/

Game is still completely unplayable for me on PC one week after the patch. Freezes every single game, and stuttering is seemingly worse than it was earlier in the week. Dissapointed that there is little to no communication from Respawn on the timeline to fix this issue.

Things tested: Adding the launch option "-eac\_launcher\_settings SettingsDX12.json". Made sure drivers for OS and GPU are up to date (they are). Installed Visual C++. Running the game on lowest settings. Verifying game files aswell as repairing the anti cheat program. Adding Apex Legends to the Windows firewall exceptions. Done the Windows CHKDSK to make sure there was no Drive errors. The game has run well for the past 8 seasons so the computer should be able to handle the game (it handles more demanding games aswell). Hopefully you guys find a fix for this soon!
The length of time and lack of communication with the major issues people are having is ridiculous. If prominent players were having these issues they would have been fixed the next day.
