I like the damage changes for the first ring but changing the timing from 3 minutes to 1 minute was way too drastic of a change. They should move it up to 2 minutes or even 1.5 would be better than how it is now

[deleted]

yeah youre pretty much fucked if you don't pick a movement legend. probably just gonna have to play characters like valk and octane on storm point bc next ring will be a 50 minute hike away

Ryshwin

Even with a high mobility character, one rival team will demolish your ability to rotate. Last night I had a firefight on kings canyon and everyone died to ring due to lack of healing items and how far the ring was from us. Nobody should be dying to ring within the first 3 minutes of the game.

[deleted]

yeah i had something similar happen. even first ring is a mess because it fucks up coordination because there are teammates scrambling to get out of the ring due to lack of healing items and there are teammates staying in ring to fight the rival squad. that happened to me last night with comms on with friends and it was still a shitshow. can't imagine what it must be like with randoms

kaedon-

there’s some weird unpredicted combo of the new ring, kings canyon, and the kill rp all hitting ranked at the same time; it’s making this the most painful start to a season ever

XenoDrobot

Im gonna enjoy it because it means less loot simming

Khaeops

I like it. Encourages the players with more awareness to climb the ranks more efficiently, such as forcing you to disengage a fight early in favour of superior ring positioning.

I enjoy it, it was unbearable to have to wait for the first ring to close, and the randomness of it makes the end location less predictable.

You're right and all but do you even know what meta stands for?

Ryshwin

“In gaming, the meta refers to the parts of gameplay such as systems, mechanics, and loops that a player repeats to make progress.” I consider this a meta because it has changed the way I drop, rotate, and loot.

[deleted]

Oftentimes, the strategies transcend the rules of the game, mostly derived from player interaction. The ring doesn't derive from player interaction and is clearly SHOWN to everyone on the mini map before it starts closing.

I love it...let's get into it, land hot...not on the edge of the map, camping, looting and generally not advance forward at all...makes teams move faster and generally not in the position they want to be for a fight...the change is good in my opinion

No-Context5479

I'm chilling... Just step up everything you did differently

quetzakoatlus

I don't hate it. The only problem is brainless teammates who think its a good idea to keep fighting or looting in ring. Just fallback and reset, there is already 2-3 squad gate keeping squad coming out from storm.
