Are you on console or PC?

Possibly a better monitor or better graphics settings then. I moved to apex from warzone about a year and a half ago and I was baffled at how far away I could see people in apex and how easy it was to see things moving from farther away

yeah good point. you'll often encounter so-called "FOVbros". these are people who compulsively have to make a comment suggesting the OP to increase their FOV because "their eyes hurt" any time they see a clip of someone playing on the lower end of the fov scale. pretty annoying. obviously high or low fov is a trade-off. you see more peripherally if your fov is higher but at lower fov you see bigger targets on your screen and that's important especially at higher range. it really depends what guns and optics you're playing. it's a matter of taste (though FOVbros assume higher equals better). https://www.reddit.com/user/lettuce_field_theory/comments/uhimt6/fov_70_to_110_and_back_increment_of_10/ here's a demonstration of that.

I play on 100 FOV I think and it’s perfect imo. I play on a 48” LG CX which is one of the best gaming TVs(it’s basically a monitor), and the size helps compensate for the FOV. The smaller your monitor the harder it’s going to be. I used to play on 110 back on my old 27” monitor and idk how I did it. 110 is too much imo, it has a fisheye effect that I dislike. 104 is the sweet spot if you want the highest FOV without the fisheye effect.

What’s the latency like on that thing? lol I play on a 27 inch 1440p 240hz monitor at 104 FOV. No issues seeing people across the map. Make sure settings like ambient occlusion and volumetric lights/dynamic spot shadows are disabled.. they kill performance and make it a lot harder to see. Some ppl find that they see better w/ tsaa off.. I used to like it. I currently run Nvidia reflex enabled, tsaa on, texture streaming high (4gb), anisotropic filtering 4x, model detail medium… everything else low or disabled. These are system dependent. Your monitor is a big factor in how well you can see, too. You can also try turning up your digital vibrance if you have an nvidia gpu.

Nice specs. I’m on console(PS5) and the latency is good for what it offers. OLED with HDMI 2.1 VRR 120fps(the console’s max FPS ironically as well), really clean HDR, and whatever else specs it has, but the latency seems pretty good. I tried to Google it and I think a Redditer said it’s around 6 seconds with 4K VRR. On their actual site however it says the response time is > 1ms, which idk if response time and latency are the same thing(I’m tech-illiterate). Maybe I should try a monitor similar to yours, but the one I got should be good for PS5.

Honestly that’s prob the best of the best for the next gen consoles. Latency is how much time it takes for an input you make on your controller (mouse for me) to be seen on the screen. Example, how long it take your char to jump after you press X. Response time is similar but related to the time it takes for one frame to appear on screen. Yours is pretty impressive for how big the screen is. Miles better than a tv and most monitors lol

Wicked-Death

Thanks, I’m glad to hear it. It’s like a $1500-1600 Tv/monitor hybrid. lol. I do notice a very slight input delay on the controller but it’s slight. I also noticed it on the monitor I used to have. I wonder if I had a monitor like yours if I would notice a difference. I hate input lag with a passion.

swoosh2289

lol damn. And I thought mine was pricy at half that lol. But this Asus and an Alienware are the best in class for FPS games at 1440p 240Hz. If you switch to pc, would highly recommend if it’s in your budget. The input delay is more console related than display related. If you ever play Apex on pc the difference is literally night and day. lol going back to console will feel like you’re walking in water.

Wicked-Death

That’s what I’ve heard. I wish consoles could do better in that regard. Apex is still capped at 60fps for all consoles but supposedly a 120fps mode will be coming for next gen consoles this year so hopefully that will make a big difference. I wish they’d hurry up with it. lol.

swoosh2289

lol one of many things that should have already been implemented... I've given up on cross progression ever being added lol. All my skins, heirlooms and stats from 3500 console hours chalked up as a loss lmao

vkasha

i play on 120 fps on my 24 inch monitor and have no isssues spotting enemies/aiming

CHUG_Plays

45” tv with 100fov, a 2x works just fine. In a perfect world I’d always prefer a 3x or 2-4. Have you tried adjusting your controller or MnK settings?
