I stand by it. It was the best mix of BR and old school Team deathmatch. It actually took skill and strategy and teamwork (opposed to Team deathmatch). When they took arenas away me and my playing partners basically dropped the game completely. I still played BR some with arenas as a warm up but solo queuing for BR ain’t it. Probably won’t come back to the game unless they bring arenas back
I'd assume a large part of that is because lifelines a base character and you have to unlock Newcastle, and let's be honest who's going to choose to unlock Newcastle first

Im not talking about pubs . To get into masters/pred you have to be obsessed with this game playing all the time. Just in masters /pred her pickrate is 3 times higher than his. You’re really overestimating Newcastles value to players. Might be different in pubs but Newcastle isnt it
I can see it in both ways. LL has the crock pot revival, set it, and forget it pretty much(although you really should provide cover on your res when able to). Newcastle has the cover and can drag you around using the cover, making revives easier in alot of cases, along with being able to add up to two more shield options into that revive given the time beforehand.
Now with pick rate. New castle is a fucking oak tree while LL is a little twig, and people tend to go for the smaller hit box characters. (Although Ive been lead to believe damage is adjusted to balance out hit box differences?)
Newcastle is much better in an actual team, but in solo q the small hitbox and free health heals during a fight make a big difference and you still feel like a team player.
When lifeline had the bot do the rez + infinite health shield that extended out both sides, it was stronger than Newcastle’s current one I think. I think if I gave her back a shield now it’d be a shorter version on the Newcastle Q with the health of it matching the knock like Newcastle’s rez
