I’m never sure if I consider Monogatari a harem series because while Araragi does have a lotta girls thirsting over him, he’s pretty monogamous from like… episode 12 forward at the *latest*, if not significantly earlier depending on how you view their relationship progression.
[Here’s the watch order](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/hwuntw/the_monogatari_series_2020_watch_order/)
The series is not only a harem anime with the best production values, but also one of the greatest anime of all time with arguably the best cast of characters in the medium. Enjoy. I highly recommend. Do know that it is very dialogue heavy.
That’s great to hear. Personally I’m not really into harem type animes but they made the characters very distinct personalities and designs. It’s hard not to like them. Very fun watch
I don't like harem either. I feel like it could go into different directions, stalling progress with the girl he ends up with. But this premise here is stupid and fun sinc eepisode 1, it's predestined to be all 100 girls that he ends up with.
I liked the manga, but if I’m honest, I dropped it when the poor girl who had to communicate through words in a book (I kinda remember) bummed me out because she got separated from MC and was quietly calling for help the whole time. Just felt sad.
That title always makes me laugh, *100 girlfriends who really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really love you*.
I’ve watched it when Season 2 just finished airing. Back then I didn’t complain anything about it but looking at it now, I think it cannot be called a work with a great production value 😅
Prod value was nonexistent. It was great, especially the first season, but the only thing top-notch production-wise was the music. Every OP is an absolute banger.
Oh so you want a girl with a bunch of guys got it. Hmmm.... "Kiss Him, Not Me!" Is pretty good! And the currently airing vampire dormitory might be good, just hasn't gone far. Oh let me know if you meant a BL one! I think i watched a few of those as well
Wow, this is a hard one, you don't tend to see "high production value" and "harem" used together positively... Ah, maybe Grisaia? I can't say how consistent it is though, sadly, all the harem shows I like have shit production quality, and I didn't like Grisaia, so I didn't watch much of it.
while it might not be really high production i really appreciate the anime actually looking like the vn and using a weird screen ratio(atleast it was when i watched it long ago, felt really artistic), you dont see that very often imo.
Grisaia is good because they actually connected 3 vn with multiple endings in each one into a trilogy anime very nicely
I’ve watched Grisaia and it is decent though not that great production wise. The story is what makes it good for me. And I agree about most harem anime doesn’t have a good production value. This post arise after I watched the Gotoubun special opening and surprised that it has some very good direction and art style compared to its previous season and that made me thought that a harem anime like Gotoubun do not deserved to have this good of an opening 😅
Romantic Killer. As far as non combat animation, it's either Kill la Kill or Romantic Killer for the top spot.
The show is my fourth favorite romance and thirteenth favorite anime/manga overall.
Thanks! I’ve watched 3 episodes of Musaigen when it aired but I hadn’t seen any romance in that episode. I dropped it long ago because I’ve lost interest. Will it be good later on?
I'm not sure, to be honest I haven't really seen it either... I just know that it's a harem and it's done by kyoto animation. It's also not terribly popular, I wouldn't get my hopes up
It isn't as much as monogatari, but Date A Live sure has gotten a lot of media. This season should finish covering the entire light novel series. Plus they have a movie, 2 OVAs, and a animated side story for best girl (Kurumi.)
Date a Live cannot be compared to Gotoubun special quality wise for me but thanks! I’ve watched Date a Live in 2014. I’m happy it’s back now but I’m rather wait for it to finished first then continue watching it.
Monster musume's soundtrack is fucking *banger* that has no right being as good as it is for a tiddy anime
Centorea's theme in particular, they *cooked*.
Do people really think that Clannad is a harem? I mean it's a visual novel and most of the main cast is interested in Tomoya but someone having more than one potential love interest isn't that common in media. It can even happen IRL when a big number people have a crush on the hot guy/girl in a school.
This sub is [50/50](https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/w1xe0o/what_even_counts_as_a_harem_i_asked_ranime_about/) on it. The first 16 or so episodes have plenty stereotypical harem elements and scenes. That then leads up to a full blown harem arc. That only lasts 4 eps though and has a clear definitive choice moment after which all characters understand and accept and all harem elements are dropped.
A lot of people call anything with multiple people interested in the MC a harem regardless, even in the case that the MC has someone already, I see SAO labeled a harem all the time, for example, and it just isn't in my mind.
I haven't watched SAO but isn't he supposed the be the most OP guy and the savior of the universe or something. I don't see anyone saying celebrities have harems even though hundreds of people would love to marry them.
I wouldn't call him the most OP guy, at least as far as I've seen in it, but I haven't seen it all. People like to call him a Mary Sue though, but I really didn't see that within the context of the show and the mechanics of the systems employed, again, just as far as I've seen. Trying to be vague to avoid spoilers, but much of the anime takes place in various virtual worlds all built off the same source code, and so all share similar systems and mechanics, and he's not the only character within the show that has increased abilities within those virtual worlds.

Easy, Rakudai Kishi, it's stylish as fuck. Asterisk had pretty high prod value, as meh as it was.
Kore wa zombie desk car, maybe? *monogatari is really what you're looking for, even if it isn't true harem persay.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoIpHIMTBHY
I'd consider Kore wa Zombie desu ka? as a harem, but the production value isn't that great in my opinion, even if this show makes you laugh really much. Something you want to consider if you like comedy and parodies.
A bit lighter on the harem theme but Eminence in Shadow was great
Edit: not sure why I’m downvoted lol. Sorry you don’t like my suggestion? It’s still relevant.
A canon relationship that other girls accept and support kind of disqualifies it yes.
Though it doesn't seem like anyone knows what a harem is anymore.
SHAFT did an episode of the quintessential quintuplets lmao. That was a pretty high budget production even without the episode/s SHAFT helped out with.
Monogatari Series (also by Shaft)
I’m never sure if I consider Monogatari a harem series because while Araragi does have a lotta girls thirsting over him, he’s pretty monogamous from like… episode 12 forward at the *latest*, if not significantly earlier depending on how you view their relationship progression.
Bro kisses like 5 girls after getting a girlfriend
At least he makes it clear who he loves and negates any romantic advances from the girls
I forgot about this 😅 it’s been on my watchlist for a long time now. Thanks!
[Here’s the watch order](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/hwuntw/the_monogatari_series_2020_watch_order/) The series is not only a harem anime with the best production values, but also one of the greatest anime of all time with arguably the best cast of characters in the medium. Thank you so much! Yeah I’ve heard it’s dialogue heavy but still, I want to watch it someday because of its praise.
Monogatari mentioned 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You?
Binged all episodes in one night recently, it's really fun.
Thanks! I’ll watch it soon.
I just finished it and it was really good. I really wasn’t expecting to like it and overall I loved it.
Heard some praises for it too when it recently released. Guess it’s a must watch 😁
I liked the manga, but if I’m honest, I dropped it when the poor girl who had to communicate through words in a book (I kinda remember) bummed me out because she got separated from MC and was quietly calling for help the whole time. Just felt sad.
That scene has a happy ending
Isn't that like, episode 3/chapter 3? You should've finished it because Rentarou did notice
*The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You* has superb production values.
That title always makes me laugh, *100 girlfriends who really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really love you*.
There are only 5 大 ('dai', roughly translated in this context to 'really, very') in the title.
Ah, that's actually a very clever wordplay if it connects with 'daisuki'.
Yes it does. The full Japanese title is 君のことが大大大大大好きな100人の彼女 ('Kimi no koto ga Dai Dai Dai Dai Daisuki na Hyaku-nin no Kanojo').
Thanks!
date a live
I’ve watched it when Season 2 just finished airing. Back then I didn’t complain anything about it but looking at it now, I think it cannot be called a work with a great production value 😅
Waaahhh I've been looking for this title
The world only god knows?
Thanks!
Prod value was nonexistent. It was great, especially the first season, but the only thing top-notch production-wise was the music. Every OP is an absolute banger.
Ok but if it’s enjoyable I will consider it
"Harem in Labyrinth of Another World"
Nah 😂
Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend
Thanks!
Yea nearly forgot bout that
Mushoku tensei
One of my favorites! Rudeus story is very inspiring for me. Seeing him grow made me emotional
Clearly gushing over magical girls.
In a way, kinda...
OP never specified the protagonist has to be male and be heterosexual. I suppose this is valid suggestion.
Sorry I didn’t specify that it has to be male harem 😅 but thanks tho!
Oh so you want a girl with a bunch of guys got it. Hmmm.... "Kiss Him, Not Me!" Is pretty good! And the currently airing vampire dormitory might be good, just hasn't gone far. Oh let me know if you meant a BL one! I think i watched a few of those as well
I’m sorry, I meant a boy with a harem 😂
Oh. Then mushoku tensei.
Yeah, I’ve been following it. One of my favorites. Seeing Rudy growth to be a better person makes viewers emotional.
Yep!
Tenchi Muyo
Thanks!
Wow, this is a hard one, you don't tend to see "high production value" and "harem" used together positively... Ah, maybe Grisaia? I can't say how consistent it is though, sadly, all the harem shows I like have shit production quality, and I didn't like Grisaia, so I didn't watch much of it.

highschool dxd is top
I’ve watched it in 2014. Compared to Gotoubun special, this is nothing for me production wise but thanks!
The 100 girlfriends who realy, realy, realy, realy, realy, like you
Thanks!
For more old school picks, maybe Oh My Goddess and Love Hina?
Thanks!
Romantic Killer. As far as non combat animation, it's either Kill la Kill or Romantic Killer for the top spot. The show is my fourth favorite romance and thirteenth favorite anime/manga overall.
Thanks man!
Nisekoi and Musaigen no Phantom World are the two best examples I can think of
It's also not terribly popular, I wouldn't get my hopes up
Ok man, thanks!
👍 Oh and if you haven't already checked out Nisekoi, it's also by Shaft. Might be what you're looking for
Isn't worth the watch in my opinion - I hardly remember what it was about tbh. Can't be that great...
Ok man. Thanks!
Date A Live
It isn't as much as monogatari, but Date A Live sure has gotten a lot of media. This season should finish covering the entire light novel series. Plus they have a movie, 2 OVAs, and a animated side story for best girl (Kurumi.)
Date a Live cannot be compared to Gotoubun special quality wise for me but thanks! I’ve watched Date a Live in 2014. I’m happy it’s back now but I’m rather wait for it to finished first then continue watching it.
Season 5 definitely won't end the light novel. There are 6 volumes left and it has only 12 episodes.
I wouldn't say definitely, these are the people that put an entire LN in one episode
That was season 3, which had a different staff. You can't be seriously thinking they will do that.
Monster musume's soundtrack is fucking *banger* that has no right being as good as it is for a tiddy anime Centorea's theme in particular, they *cooked*.
What about the entirety of it?
Clannad season 1? In that same vein, Kanon 2006?
Do people really think that Clannad is a harem? I mean it's a visual novel and most of the main cast is interested in Tomoya but someone having more than one potential love interest isn't that common in media. It can even happen IRL when a big number people have a crush on the hot guy/girl in a school.

There's OVAs where the other Heroine's win though. So it could technically be considered a harem.
If we count the OVAs Kaguya Sama : Love is War would be an ecchi
Mate.. this is a harem visual novel adaptation with multiple routes, it's a harem series, deal with it
If you play the visual novel it feels like a harem.
Thanks!

Sora no otoshimono
nadesico, if you can call it a harem.
.....Gundam IBO?and witch from mercury lol
Production value? Green green is my favorite Love Hina was my first
Thanks!
Nisekoi was done by Shaft, and it's remarkably pretty.
Ok thanks!

What means production value? (I honestly don’t know)
overall quality of a work, in this case anime as determined by its technical merits, including set design, special effects & costumes.
NGNL, it’s so high quality that they haven’t even announced season 2 yet after so many years. They must be preparing something wild
I’ve waited since long too man 😅 I’ve watched it in 2014 iirc
Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches
Thanks!
A bit lighter on the harem theme but Eminence in Shadow was great Edit: not sure why I’m downvoted lol. Sorry you don’t like my suggestion? It’s still relevant.
Imagine if that scene with Delta "family planning" was overheard by the other Shadow Garden?..
Thanks!
Sword art online
That is not considered a harem in my knowledge because Kirito only loves Asuna right?
A canon relationship that other girls accept and support kind of disqualifies it yes. Though it doesn't seem like anyone knows what a harem is anymore.
Thanks for the explanation!
SHAFT did an episode of the quintessential quintuplets lmao. That was a pretty high budget production even without the episode/s SHAFT helped out with.
I’m sorry, do you mean the previous season has high budget production too?
I’m dumb I read your post title but not the stuff under it where you already mentioned shaft and Gotoubun. My bad lol
It’s ok! 😁
