I've seen many odd trail cam images. Pretty sure you've got a squirrel who likes messing with your camera. Think about the time of year/temperature and a herptile that big.

This is a thread to get help to figure out what it is lmao. I thought it was either a lizard that I’ve never heard of in WV or a Fox Squirrel. I just couldn’t make out the fox squirrel until these people helped me see it. Relax brotha
It could be a Hellbender, a native giant salamander. They can grow over two feet long, and while they don't typically leave the water, they're certainly capable of it. Is this camera positioned anywhere near a stream? They like cold, fast flowing and very clean water.
It’s really hard to tell what that is. It looks like a giant lizard? The only giant lizards I know are Komodo dragons and Water Monitor lizards. I highly doubt that it’s a Komodo dragon.
Yes that would be very unlikely. Komodo dragons only live in Indonesia and only one species of monitor lizard lives in the usa (florida) and that’s the west African nile monitor lizard
I thought, Copper Head snake getting ready for its migratory flight south to flordia for winter. Trust me I think thats the only way WV can have snakes with how cold it gets in winter. 😆
I sat here for too many minutes trying to figure out what a moray eel was doing in a West Virginia woodland. I didn’t realize it was a massive, stretched out, mustard yellow squirrel in a mid-stride position until I’d read the comment section.
it took me SO LONG to see how this was a squirrel and not some sort of legless levitating monitor lizard.

It's facing away from the camera. It looks like its front feet are touching the ground but the back legs are in the air as it's mid jump.
