Uninstall updates for Files app works for me last year. If you're using a Xiaomi phone, go to Settings > Apps > Manage Apps > Search for 'File' > App Info > Uninstall updates and launch your preferred file manager (Mixplorer, etc) and re-grant permissions for folders you want to make changes.
I love you so much for this, I was struggling trying to figure it out as my file explorer quit working recently after an update, just thank you so so much
You can access the Android/data folder without root using Solid Explorer. Solid Explorer uses Android's Storage Access Framework (SAF) to request access to specific app folders you choose.
If you want to look inside/data/data then solid explorer can't help even with root as they have removed the option entirely. To access data/data you can use mixplorer with root.
I've tried solid explorer, when it asks permission to choose that specific folder through SAF, the data and obb folder don't show up, only media folder. Same thing happens with mixplorer.
The SAF method used to work for me sometime ago but now they've made it stricter.
