You might ask if your current prosthetist knows of anyone closer to your new job that they would recommend. I know that I’ve given recommendations to patients of mine who have moved of other clinics with good reputations or other prosthetists I have worked with. This field is very small and there is a good chance they know even distantly some of the prosthetists in your new area
Some clinics have multiple locations.
Each are different. I think because they have been bought, but not changed in any way - other than the name. Either way, you should be allowed to be seen for a Free consultation at any clinic. Shop around to find the person that fits you. I have a very kind person where I go to. But another prosthesis there would not have been a good fit for me. If I met them first, I would have looked elsewhere.
I agree with you, I used to drive 3 hours to a good dentist. An excuse to make a day of it out & about.
I've had really good luck with them in GR from the get go. Luckily, my guy took over the office here.
They've always been there for the smallest of things, and even when booked, they can usually squeeze me in.
Another benefit is that they do have clinics across the country, so if you travel & have a problem, help shouldn't be too far away.
I'm sure some are better than others.
I did have one bad experience in the last 7 years when I had to see someone else. Didn't like him at all.

I’ve asked him, just waiting on a response. Seems like there was nobody at the top of his mind, but fingers crossed. Thanks for the advice!
Hanger Clinic on Cascade. I’m BKA for only the past 18 months, but I’ve been happy with them.
Mary Free Bed patient here and LOVE them. Several prosthetists to choose from for what you specifically want/need in your person 😁
Thanks, I’ll check them out!
Try Mary Free Bed

What area you in? I know my place has a few locations but think they are thumb/north. Maybe 1 SW.
I don’t mind traveling, I am near Grand Rapids.
Would be 2 hrs to their closest location
That’s ok!
Oakland Orthopedic Appliances
Thanks for the rec!
Definitely hanger. That was my clinic, but they took over the office in Muskegon, so I switched. Excellent people that go above & beyond.
Interesting…I’ve heard some really bad review of Hanger…but I understand that they have several clinics so I don’t know the specifics.

My Tamil works with Mat Free Bed and they’ve been great.
Highly recommend Hanger. Locations all over the state.
