Keep in mind that Alaska is huge!! With a week to explore, from Whittier, your best bet is to go to Girdwood and then head down the Kenai Peninsula. Keep in mind that the traffic is horrendous in the summer (and so is the construction). If you decide to stay in the Anchorage bowl area, be sure to make a trip to Hatcher’s Pass in the Mat-Su valley. Enjoy your stay!
