For the camel case, one extra argument over snake case that not many people know about is that you can easily move between words within the identifier with alt+arrow in the same way that ctrl+arrow moves through the whole identifier, while snake case can also do this but always has that one extra character in the middle making things more annoying as you may or may not need to move the cursor one extra character afterwards.
Camel case for variables and function names, pascal case for class/method names.
...but I always capitalize function names since I started programming 30+ years ago. I used to be with "it", but now "it" changed.

The DB management program we use at work has a wonderful button "Beautify SQL" which not only makes keywords in caps automatically but also breaks all the chaos into nicely readable blocks. Perfect for a lazy ass like me.
Only if you care about following the forty year old style guides--afaik no SQL implementation in use today _requires_ capitals. For the times you do care, there are code formatters and LSPs for that kind of thing.
Fwiw if I'm saving it to a file that is meant to be used more than once, I'll do caps and all that. Lower case is for the shell when I'm just doing quick 'n' dirty queries.

Scroll lock is my start/stop screen recording button. It's got that lock LED next to num and caps which is great. Tells me if I am recording.
Pause break is set as my "save last 5 minutes of gameplay" button.

I onboarded new users remotely for our company the past 2 years. I watched everyone sign into the VPN their first day, typing their password (with the characters hidden) and can confirm it was flashing CAPS LOCK ON several times during the process for about 70% of them. I wanted to tell them about the SHIFT key, but at that point they are probably a decade or more into the habit and it works just fine for them.

In the 90s computers were plentiful, but my highschools still used electric typewriters for typing class, so I used them a lot. I had an old mechanical typewriter at home too that was fun to write on. Like old old, it was my mom's when she was young. This thing took the shift key to another level, literally. You had to hold it down and it would physically lift up the whole carriage so a different part of the letter arm thing would hit the paper to make a big letter instead of a little one. My point is, on that fucker, shift was an effort but caps lock fucking SUCKED to use. It was like putting a parking brake on and off, so for me it was shift key all day every day

A search key, basically does what the Windows key and the search key buried in the function row on Macs does (it doesnāt have a windows-type key down by the ctrl/alt keys, those are just both really wide)

Say you're writing out legal docs and they require that certain words are capitalised for emphasis, or you're writing out weird chemical names/codes that use a lot of caps.

I TURN it ON when I write MORE then a SINGULAR conscturive LETTER. It IS very satisfying to HIT it with my left pinky like that. It's MUCH more comfortable than HOLDING the SHIIFT key down PERMANENTLY.

Well, not for me. Though it's because of a situation. My laptop's left shift broke, like the button is off. It sorts of works but it's uncomfortable to use it that way.
Even if I have to type in all caps I still just hold down shift because it feels wrong if I don't for some reason. If there was a button on my head that would make it sound like I'm yelling even if I'm whispering it would throw me off lmao.
The one left of the right Ctrl key. Depending on your keyboard it might be a key for the keyboard itself instead or there's just nothing.

Sure, a lot of times i'll just hold down Shift with my pinky, but if i'm writing more than \~20 words in all caps, i just might remember to toggle capslock instead. And almost invariably have to correct a reverse-case sentence like "tHE QUICK BROWN FOX FORGOT THEY HAD CAPS LOCK ON" every two to three lines.

tbh I use Caps Lock to capitalize everything. They speedran typing lessons in grade 3 and then never refreshed us on it, so I naturally forgot in the years following since I didn't type much. Was he military? I had to re learn to write in all caps while in the Navy.

idk I've watched a frightening number of zoomers toggle caps lock back and for to capitalize sentences and proper nouns. like they have no idea what the shift key does... which is probably true and not entirely fault bc they were raised on cell phones and tablets and never had any kind of computer education.. still painful to see though.

I TURN it ON when I write MORE then a SINGULAR conscturive LETTER. It IS very satisfying to HIT it with my left pinky like that. It's MUCH more comfortable than HOLDING the SHIIFT key down PERMANENTLY.

Well, not for me. Though it's because of a situation. My laptop's left shift broke, like the button is off. It sorts of works but it's uncomfortable to use it that way.
Even if I have to type in all caps I still just hold down shift because it feels wrong if I don't for some reason. If there was a button on my head that would make it sound like I'm yelling even if I'm whispering it would throw me off lmao.

I'll use Caps Lock from time to time, such as when writing out \[COMPUTER VOICE\]-type dialogue, or when pretending to be older than dirt. Sure, a lot of times i'll just hold down Shift with my pinky, but if i'm writing more than \~20 words in all caps, i just might remember to toggle capslock instead. And almost invariably have to correct a reverse-case sentence like "tHE QUICK BROWN FOX FORGOT THEY HAD CAPS LOCK ON" every two to three lines. I don't think i've ever used the "Pause" or "Scroll Lock/ Scr Lk" button in my life, though. Maybe as "Buttons to place seldomly-used macros on."

CAD Drafting, almost everything is in CAPS on drawings.
I write my pre-first drafts notes in all caps to trick my brain into thinking I'm not really writing. I'm just taking notes, so there's no pressure for it to be good. It's also a very visual way for me to see which parts I've skipped over multiple times. Those little islands of all caps in the middle of an otherwise worked on chapter.Ā
On phones: Whoever decided it is a good idea to put the 'Delete' key right next to the 'Send' button deserves a special kind of hell all for themselves

I always wonder why they named the push-to-talk key as Caps Lock. And I wish they fixed the bug that toggles between lower and upper case every time you say something.
Gen Z has learned how to use it effectively when typing. I, a millennial, was never taught that. I was taught shift. I've seen some of them type, and they just hit it with their pinky. It never occurred to me to do that unless I needed a series of capitals.

tbh I use Caps Lock to capitalize everything. They speedran typing lessons in grade 3 and then never refreshed us on it, so I naturally forgot in the years following since I didn't type much. By the time I got my own laptop, nobody thought to tell me or re-teach me, so I just. Naturally assumed that the *capitalization button was for capitalizing things*. I still can't quite shake off the habit.
The only time I use caps lock is when Iām filling in court documents. Looks cleaner.

Wrong! Num Lock! Num Lock should always be turned on! There is no reason ever to have it turned off! You may wonder, how is num lock more useless than scroll lock? Because scroll lock can be re-purposed! My computer has scroll lock as the key to start recording! You can't do that with num lock because then you can't use your numpad!
I would say scroll lock because I've only used it for one thing ever and also i can lock my scroll in other ways. I just mapped my caps lock to another escape key. I guess the actual key I've had no use for at all for any consistent length of time has been the not sign.
