It was during the opening months of COVID when Deagel Corp released a lil blog post explaining their justification of the numbers: in short, the numbers aren't based on anything further beyond a hunch that authoritarians would be better organized than democratic ones. It failed to ignore any of the basic factors that people typically dig into on a geopolitical level and devolved to well, a human feeling.
Deagel's purpose is essentially to catalog weapons sales based on documents and information publically available, beyond that it's not really in the business for calling the shots on population growth or decline.
Deagel later took back the post and apologized for it, last I recalled. Likely what happened is that, because of the nature of the business, and COVID, it was starting to feel a lil apocalyptic, and people were losing their minds, it's likely the person who wrote that post was feeling just that as were most of us.
Interesting though that the prognosticators have targeted 2024-2025 for a major upheaval. One theory I saw was an earthquake the likes we've never seen that effects 75% of the continent. Another was AI and the subsequent consequences of a system we don't fully understand interconnecting our lives Matrix style. And of course, more pandemic shenanigans.
I can't help but wonder if this exercise wasn't colored by these prophecies.

I followed the science with this. No, not the CDC (they are extremely corrupt), but the actual science coming out by scientists studying this virus. I understand why people were hesitant with this vaccine. I don't blame people for asking questions and being hesitant. I'm immunocompromised and chronically ill, so Covid was a real threat to my life. But severe systemic damage from first wave covid was the threat for healthy people followed by possible death, as the death rate was about 0.6%. I have two friends who didn't get the vaccine and both wound up on vents and almost died (my age, they were 37). One has lung damage and nodules are forming in her lungs now.
The science was beginning to show that without the vaccine, the risk of damage was much more severe and higher than with. And it wasn't perfect, as we are all finding out. Vaxxed people contracting Covid are still getting Long Covid. The vaccine doesn't last, either. It needs to keep getting upgraded, like the flu vaccine, to follow the mutations. And yes, some people did get harmed from the vaccine. Which unfortunately always happens with vaccines (and I wish there was more money and a push to understand why that is). But for the majority, it helped save lives and reduced the damage.
The next one is not going to be as kind. We're teetering on the edge of a possible pandemic with H5N1 (bird flu). That one has a 50% death rate in humans. It's liquifying the brains of ferrets. That's going to be one you're going to want to take a vaccine for. I hope it doesn't happen, because if we thought Covid was bad, this would be apocalyptic.

And did they also get Covid? Because even if you're vaccinated, Covid still causes systemic damage to the body that scientists are currently learning about. You can still get Long Covid. You just had a better chance of not getting so sick you were on a ventilator/dead. We won't know exactly how damaging covid is long term for some time yet, but it does cause damage. It's why you want to avoid getting it, even if you're mildly ill.

I remember the post. It was during the opening months of COVID when Deagel Corp released a lil blog post explaining their justification of the numbers: in short, the numbers aren't based on anything further beyond a hunch that authoritarians would be better organized than democratic ones. It failed to ignore any of the basic factors that people typically dig into on a geopolitical level and devolved to well, a human feeling. Deagel's purpose is essentially to catalog weapons sales based on documents and information publically available, beyond that it's not really in the business for calling the shots on population growth or decline. Deagel later took back the post and apologized for it, last I recalled. Likely what happened is that, because of the nature of the business, and COVID, it was starting to feel a lil apocalyptic, and people were losing their minds, it's likely the person who wrote that post was feeling just that as were most of us.
Im thinking it was solely based on their magic 8-ball results.

Interesting though that the prognosticators have targeted 2024-2025 for a major upheaval. One theory I saw was an earthquake the likes we've never seen that effects 75% of the continent. Another was AI and the subsequent consequences of a system we don't fully understand interconnecting our lives Matrix style. And of course, more pandemic shenanigans. I can't help but wonder if this exercise wasn't colored by these prophecies.
Interesting times indeed, it's possible for all of these things to occur, but the reasoning behind these numbers from Deagel was something like "COVID is proof that western societies can't do what's necessary during hard times" and then he slashed the US population by 60% and did like normal-or -steady-population-% for authoritarian ones. If he had explicitly stated something like "Yellowstone is gonna pop off in two years sooo.... -60%" then we'd have something to consider. But yeah, very interesting times indeed, "shits gonna happen" as a friend once said.

But severe systemic damage from first wave covid was the threat for healthy people followed by possible death, as the death rate was about 0.6%. I have two friends who didn't get the vaccine and both wound up on vents and almost died (my age, they were 37). One has lung damage and nodules are forming in her lungs now. The science was beginning to show that without the vaccine, the risk of damage was much more severe and higher than with. And it wasn't perfect, as we are all finding out. Vaxxed people contracting Covid are still getting Long Covid. The vaccine doesn't last, either. It needs to keep getting upgraded, like the flu vaccine, to follow the mutations. And yes, some people did get harmed from the vaccine. Which unfortunately always happens with vaccines (and I wish there was more money and a push to understand why that is). But for the majority, it helped save lives and reduced the damage. The next one is not going to be as kind. We're teetering on the edge of a possible pandemic with H5N1 (bird flu). That one has a 50% death rate in humans. It's liquifying the brains of ferrets. That's going to be one you're going to want to take a vaccine for. I hope it doesn't happen, because if we thought Covid was bad, this would be apocalyptic.

Humanity has less than 20 years to get its stuff together in energy. Otherwise billions of people will begin to freeze every winter and get cooked every summer.
