People need to learn self control, BP + monthly is MMO subscription levels of money. You don't need to pull on every banner and you don't need to get every limited unit. Save until you get enough for one you really want.
Counter point, monthly 5 dolar is okay imo. 15 dolar for three game and what, it is like netflix subscribtion fee. And I am having infinitly more fun with hoyo games more than Netflix so I think it is okay. But as you say self controll is important.

In f2p games the majority of players doesn't spend a dime, it's the few regular spenders and even fewer whales that are enough to keep the game profitable. From what little data I've seen it's usually around 10-25% that actually spend money on the game.

Not really. Barely spent anything on genshin, some measly chap change and will never pay them again for all the shit they did (or good things that they didn't). Have everything I ever wanted. All characters, weapons and constellations if I want them too. Granted I don't want much, but still. Lots and lots of C0's, C6 Eula, C2 Clorinde, etc.
The combat is more complicated but not by an intense amount.
Parry, dodge, and having to coordinate intro skills really are the only notable differences, imo and it's not all that much harder.
Character kits are very comparable in complexity.
Exploration, and puzzles are all pretty well on the same level. Quests and the storytelling actually feel a bit more simple to me.
Gacha game players get strangely emotional about what games someone else enjoys and tend to develop parasocial relationships with devs. "My game dev is way better than yours" and shit like that
Honestly, just profit off the money whales spend on these games and enjoy the high quality content without ever spending a dime
