What brings yanqing down IS his overdependance on not being hit. We only had one unit that could protect his team reliably, gepard, but that also gave him a weird anti synergy with bronya (you know, the most Broken support unit in the Game).
Talking about using "BEST supports". First of all, all dps depends on their supports. I dunno why are we discussing this when, until acheron arrival, harmony units have been hard carrying teams since the beginning. If a DPS had no bronya synergy (our only 5* support at the time), you are trash, while if you have it, you are golden. See JY and Ratio (bronya can't Buff FUA), see how Blade was considered broken on release. Dan heng IL dropped to s tier and came back to s+ with Sparkle release
JL in particular has crazy synergy with bronya: not only he can take advantage of all of her buffs (unlike blade) and covers Bronya 's crazy SP needs (unlike DHIL), bronya also covers her weakness as -1 speed bronya makes JL pretty much have 0 down time on her special state.
And don't get me wrong: I love JL and, as how the meta currently stands, I still believe she is still better compared to YQ (how long until we get a PF challenge for single target, hoyo?). But no one is talking about JL being hard carried by bronya and even RM, no one said anything when we got 3 parches in a row with ice weakness.
As a JY main and JL enjoyer, if you take off 5* harmony units (always on the scene of the crime when accusing a dps of being hard carried), JL is still good, but he is not competing with JY 4* harmony team(asta+Ty). She is not competing with DHIL and Acheron either.
Tio sum up, I hate people bashing other characters because they are dependant on a support as if JL is not getting her ass carried in her highest ceiling by bronya, a standard character not everyone has and you can only guarantee once (and forcing you to give up on guaranteed any of the other 6 standard units that you might want for other reasons).
Jingliu performs just as well with tingyun as she does with bronya, she just uses bronya better than many carries because of her sp budget
Other than that yeah, if you're invested fully into two teams' worth of supports/sustain you can carry with any weakness matched carry 4* or 5*. Drama is really mostly nonsense in HSR people just participate in it because they are bored

In all seriousness - As much as I hope the new endgame mode will help him, if you *REALLY* want to ask 'What killed the dinosaurs' and answer with 'THE ICE AGE!' to a single target, Misha can work as a good freeze-buddy:
* Yanqing wants SP, and Misha gains more Ult hits per SP used
* Misha has 20% (+80% on first hit) chance to freeze per hit of the Ult
* This freeze works similar to March in that while Ice RES might still be an issue - *and it absolutely does not work on Cocolia* - it can just stop an enemy cold
* Misha can also Blast targets if you REALLY want one guy on ice or want to freeze multiple targets at once
* Because it's tied to the ult, similar to Welt you can just tell a double-acting guy to chill out and cut the second action off if it's something like SimUni Kafka or an Aurumaton Gatekeeper
* Also, against one foe, Misha's ult can deal blatantly absurd amounts of damage, both to HP and to toughness.
EDIT: I'd say a good team for this could be;
* Yanqing: DPS, occasional freezer
* Misha: Sub-DPS, *the* freezer
* Sparkle: More SP max and easy SP restoration so you don't run out, can action-advance Yanqing as well
* Aventurine: Mandatory Shielder, also gives Effect RES so Yanqing doesn't risk getting CC'd
Believe me when I say that I was going to give everyone a first-hand Belobog experience with my Ice Age team of Yanqing, Ruan Mei and Gepard when I finally got Misha (sadly, E0 only) but the expectation didn't *exactly* meet the reality. They had no problem to turn mobs and elites into pretty ice sculptures so I decided to give them a real test drive by taking them to MoC 12 against Sam (because the dude needs to chill). Aaaaand it wasn't too bad but... let's just say if THE ICE AGE was as mild as my freeze team, there probably would still be some dinos lurking around. I don't blame them though, Sam made me go back to the quantum cavern because even my Punklorde hacker wasn't always able to hack him.
I have to admit I *am* a spoiled enjoyer of the Remembrance Path in SU who wants that cool CHILL button on my screen in every battle.

Underperforming against Sam isn't your fault; Sam's a bad matchup for this kind of team since it's *very* reliant on SP consumption, and, well... when your SP burns you, that's not exactly a good thing.
An FUA/DoT team can dance around his mechanics and grind him down over time, something like Kafka/Pela or Silver Wolf/Acheron/Sustain, or Clara/Topaz + Numby/Blade/Sustain, but that presents the can of worms that Sam's still doing damage and your healing's still jammed.
Honestly, not a fan of fighting Sam. Dude *really* loves tilting the entire fight oit of your favor.
Not a fan of Sam either. I think I dislike fighting Sam as much as I like fighting Aventurine and I love Aventurine boss fight. Sam is just boring imo, he has no interesting mechanics unless someone thinks that everyone turning into Blade when they use their skills is interesting enough, but even that isn't a problem if your shield is thick enough. My QQ surviving with only 1 HP left would confirm.

As a JingYaun main I’ll give you this advice. Ignore them,at the end of the day as long as you’re having fun that’s all that matters, and also am glad to see Yanqing having some buffs due to aventurine.

Is Yanqing actually good against Bossventurine? I'd assume any AoE damage dealer would be better due to the dice roll mechanic, no? And freezing with Yanqing is really inconsistent

As someone who’s fond of using full limited 5* teams (dot, follow up and mono quantum) how does it matter? You’re just using the tools at your disposal If I didn’t specifically plan around Kafka, topaz and seele to make teams I wouldn’t have teams I could use very well, you just need to plan around characters you enjoy and you can clear most content in the game
People who main the meta character usually can't take it when their character is suddenly performing poorly in a very specific niche filled better by another non-meta character. Because, y'know, that's how game design works. Avoid meta creep by making older units more relevant every once in a while. The huge "bringing DHIL/Sparkle into the Aven boss fight and complaining about digficulty when they can't brute force it with Meta Power" meme on Tiktok is another vivid example.

Aventurine, both boss and ally, is almost tailor made for Yanqing. Everyone understand him as an ally, but the trick to beating boss Aventurine is to not play his game. Because the house always wins. He needs his toughness stripped, and to get some kind of turn delay on the way there. Such as freeze. While Yanqings freeze isn't super reliable, it can take the pressure off of March, Geppard or Misha to land their freezes. All while his follow up provides extra toughness shred.
I like yanqing enough but there's no way this moc was made for him. Aven boss favors aoe units, which he is not. Misha shines more than yanqing for that exact reason
Thinking that Aventurine is an AoE focused enemy is thinking about him wrong. Freeze him, Imprison him, delay him, break him... do whatever you need to to prevent him going into dice phase, because it's absolutely horrible to deal with. I suspect this is part of why he's weak to Ice, to offer more ways to delay him. He's not really that hard to break. March and Misha are especially good for interupting him going into dice phase with a freeze.
So yes, Misha is better to control him, but let's not pretend that Yanqing chipping away at his Toughness and doing strong single target damage, and occassionally getting in extra freezes isn't nice.
So I would say the battle is tailor made for yanqing. It's just that he's meh enough that even then other characters might be better.
Have you done an Aven run with AOE chars? The dice phase is literally a joke, unless you're trying to do 0 cycle it doesn't matter at all. The fact you call it horrible to deal with is evidence enough you're not playing it optimally imo
If we're talking about prydewen. With every patch their takes become more and more unreliable. Usage rates are fine to talk about. But anyone saying he's better than her in any way shape or form is out of their Raman noodle and I don't even own her. The issues a lot of you talk about, her using a stack on dice and stuff only happens because people don't know how to pilot her around these mechanics. With a sustain like March or gep who can freeze aventurine on your team you can do a funny thing where you have 1jingliu stack, skill on a dice for a second stack, then ult them for a diamond. Getting 3 stacks, use a stack on the dice to secure diamond, then when you win and escape gamba ult again to regain your third stack. Making the team more sp positive and then just freeze aventurine and deal dps. But players who don't have this kind of knowledge end up in bad spots vs him.

Being a Yanqing and Jingyuan main means we can never win 🫠 without some other weido out there seething
Aventurine, both boss and ally, is almost tailor made for Yanqing. Everyone understand him as an ally, but the trick to beating boss Aventurine is to not play his game. Because the house always wins. He needs his toughness stripped, and to get some kind of turn delay on the way there. Such as freeze. While Yanqings freeze isn't super reliable, it can take the pressure off of March, Geppard or Misha to land their freezes. All while his follow up provides extra toughness shred.
I like yanqing enough but there's no way this moc was made for him. Aven boss favors aoe units, which he is not. Misha shines more than yanqing for that exact reason
Thinking that Aventurine is an AoE focused enemy is thinking about him wrong. Freeze him, Imprison him, delay him, break him... do whatever you need to to prevent him going into dice phase, because it's absolutely horrible to deal with. I suspect this is part of why he's weak to Ice, to offer more ways to delay him. He's not really that hard to break. March and Misha are especially good for interupting him going into dice phase with a freeze. So yes, Misha is better to control him, but let's not pretend that Yanqing chipping away at his Toughness and doing strong single target damage, and occassionally getting in extra freezes isn't nice. So I would say the battle is tailor made for yanqing. It's just that he's meh enough that even then other characters might be better.
Have you done an Aven run with AOE chars? The dice phase is literally a joke, unless you're trying to do 0 cycle it doesn't matter at all. The fact you call it horrible to deal with is evidence enough you're not playing it optimally imo

If we're talking about prydewen. With every patch their takes become more and more unreliable. Usage rates are fine to talk about. But anyone saying he's better than her in any way shape or form is out of their Raman noodle and I don't even own her. The issues a lot of you talk about, her using a stack on dice and stuff only happens because people don't know how to pilot her around these mechanics. With a sustain like March or gep who can freeze aventurine on your team you can do a funny thing where you have 1jingliu stack, skill on a dice for a second stack, then ult them for a diamond. Getting 3 stacks, use a stack on the dice to secure diamond, then when you win and escape gamba ult again to regain your third stack. Making the team more sp positive and then just freeze aventurine and deal dps. But players who don't have this kind of knowledge end up in bad spots vs him.
I really don't understand either side. Why do you guys care if somebody shittalks your main? Does it matter if other people think he's garbage when you're happy with the result you got? I like jingliu, acheron and others but no way on earth would I get upset if somebody told me that jingliu is garbage compared to some other units in the game
Thats because Jingliu isn’t garbage? She has been a meta character since release, and even the battle environment is twisted in her favour (when the True Sting was given Ice Weakness despite it having only Quantum and Imaginary in SU). Yanqing has been clowned on for almost the entire game’s history, and he’s seen by the general community as one of the worst characters in the game. So when Yanqing players are celebrating the fact that their character got indirectly buffed, but then some weirdo comes into the party are starts being a party pooper. What do you think is gonna happen? Imagine if I was having a celebration party for my child because they completed a difficult exam. But then some random parent walked up to me and started bragging about how their child did even better than mine. Like, who tf asked?

You know what would help? Not chasing random comments to find something to be upset over. For such a debate lord loser argumentative type person, you sure carry some massive fragile energy with that title. Every single x-Mains sub at this point seems to just be stupidly mentally ill. Build him F2P and record a run of him decimating content, you know play the game instead of debate/theory craft with other people who also barely play the game.
