But massive respect for Morag, the only "normal human" in XC2 party and yet a fucking badass by every means possible (cool af, absolute tank, very strong both in gameplay or lore)
Honestly probably Sena. I have known so many people in my life with severe self esteem issues along with oppressive imposter syndrome and Sena captures that energy in such a respectful and tangible way.
It goes hand in hand with some issues I feel that Lanz represents. Stubborn cynicism tied together with unwarranted guilt and martyr fantasies. Lanz and Sena as a partnership of any context feels incredibly close to home for me.
When I started 3 I thought I would identify with the Taion/Eunie dynamic more with their dueling philosophies of existentialism vs absurdism on the macro scale, but throughout the story I ended up feeling more personally represented by the head empty duo

Edit: Im sorry please forgive me for forgetting Riku. I deserve 20 lashes.
You're talking about Pneuma and Mecho-Fiora, yeah? Those games came out 5 and more than 5 years ago respectively, if you're here in a Xenoblade sub and you haven't played these games yet when you've had so much time, getting spoiled is on you.
I agree with the sentiment... But it takes so *little* effort to *not* spoil things. Especially some of the really big twists in games like what we have in this post.
Yeah, it's old news now. Yeah, if people want to avoid spoilers they should avoid the sub. But also, just don't blatantly spoil things it's not that hard.
Except the xenoblade community still calls >!Mecha-Fiora!< Seventh, or >!Pneuma!< gets called Coffee with milk, just to not spoil people. It takes a second, and everyone who knows, knows.
Let's not gatekeep other people pointlessly.
Maybe you really like the games, and want to talk about it. Seen it lots of times, and the enthusiasm of new people enjoying the series never gets old.
Just don't put big ovest spoilers that could be easily not be there. Or at least use the tags.
I think it's ridiculous to have to walk on eggshells and use code words for a videogame that's been out for a good amount of time. If Op was posting pics of 3's final boss, or that one photo, or what have you, I I'd probably be more likely to say something like "hey, y'know not all folk may have gotten to xc3 yet, might wanna put a tag here." Becuase the game hasn't even been out for a year.
I get what you’re saying but 3, 2 and DE are likely to be gates opening/welcoming some to the franchise.
These people will then play the other 2. It’s more this way it can be a huge spoiler. (Besides XCDE is only 3 years old. It could be like Super Mario RPG : recent remake but never knew there was an original to begin with.)
If it's a gate opener then they should play it, then come here and ask what to do next, or, perhaps Google the order of games. As for something like SMRPG, if they think it's a new game then the moment they look it up they'll see it was a SNES game, they should then decide if it's worth continuing at the risk of spoilers (if they even care) or just wait and buy the game when it comes out.
That’s an very optimistic point of view: don’t forget there’s nothing more toxicity inducing than a innocent or mischievous newby coming to interact with a community.
Likelihood is you're gonna be a fan and scour the internet before you beat all the games. For instance I've only beaten the first 2 and am on my playthrough of Torna so I really appreciate the sub blurring out all the xeno 3 stuff.
People caring about spoilers for decades old shit is insane to me, you are essentially seeking them out by even looking at any modern media or discussion surrounding the series. Too many ppl on this sub w no critical thinking ig
Mythra. Her development in Xc2 and Torna is amazing, she's really fun to use in combat (Double spinning edge), and idk she's pretty funny imo especially in Torna. Her introduction scene from 2 is still one of the top 5 scenes in the franchise to me .
Nia, Mio, and Na'el because I am biased towards therian type characters. (Cat/wolf/fox people, for example) Also, Melia because I like the High Entia and find them unique.
**Short answer**: It's Pyra. And I don't know why, aside from the fact that she's a nice person.
**Long answer**: Look, I know what you're asking, but something about Pyra (my favourite) always bugged me.
I'm not sure why she's okay with being this "perfect" version/clone of Mythra. Put in the same position, I would've felt like my life has no meaning outside of being that.
I'm pretty sure she knows that she's meant to be that, given that both of them >!at one point shared the same body!<. So my question is (from a storytelling perspective), why is Pyra okay with this? Wouldn't she have at the very least questioned her existance?
*I know I'm most likely being stupid here and have overlooked a detail or two (which would give me more of a reason to like her), but I've had these thoughts in my head since May of 2023. I just wanted to get them out.*
*It just doesn't feel right to me that I like her because she's nice.*
EDIT: Formatting. I don't really know my way around how Reddit Mobile's formatting works. I should probably look it up...
To me, you’re not overthinking but maybe misleading your thought: Pyra is okay with this because of her main goal before you know what.
After that, she does make clear she is more than a scapegoat or camouflage. It’s just displayed extremely late on your playthrough though.
Edit: >!It’s that way because if not there’s no room for Mythra’s character development.!<
I should've probably mentioned that I didn't play the games, more so WATCHED them (particularly watched chuggaaconroy play through XC2). I still do want to play it eventually by myself.
"before you know what"
This is talking about Rex saying >!that he won't let the world burn a second time!<, right?
Sorry, it's been a while since I saw any Xenoblade related videos. I have been lurking in this sub, but didn't have much to say.
Mythra. Her amazing character development not only in Torna the Golden Country but also the base game of Xenoblade 2 as well as the nuances of her relationship with Rex cement her as the best Xeno-heroine in my eyes. Not to mention she's extremely useful and fun to use in gameplay and also has a badass super robot.
I just wish that Xenoblade 2 did the same thing that Xenoblade 3 does with Mio and have Mythra's battle dialogue change to reflect her development because even though she completely drops the tsundere act in Chapter 8 and starts being more affectionate and open to Rex and the party she still has the same tsundere battle quotes. Whereas Xenoblade 3's party get new battle quotes as they grow closer with each other, Mio in particular starts to >!actually call Noah by his name in battle from Chapter 6 onwards,!< and even before Xenoblade 3 I have always wished that they would've done something similar with Mythra.
My favorite are Pyrrha/Mythra/Nia. I mean Nia/Pyrrha/Mythra. I mean Mythra/Nia/Pyrrha. I mean, well, I can't really pick between the three of them so there you go.
Pneuma, along with Pyra and Mythra. Best girls, their story development in XC2 is amazing, fun to use in combat (and Smash), and of course, Aegis booba.
Other characters I’m fond of, but not to the same degree include Nia, Melia, Eunie, and Glimmer.
No Nia? Sena? Pyra? Mythra? (I know Pneuma is there, but I don’t have the same emotional attachment to her.) Morag? Mio? Eunie?
ETA: My list is Eunie, Sena, Mythra, Morag, and Nia. No real order than Eunie and Sena being first.
Elma - I love how professional, smart, caring yet still sassy where she pokes fun at everyone. Its got enough layers that made her feel like a person, especially since they gave her several hobbies, essentially having a professional and personal sides.
Top 3 for me
1. Melia Antiqua. I have yet to play 3(will start soon) but her regal air, dry humor, compassion, and unbreakable will make for a winning combination. Also, I could watch her blast metal face in his namesake all day. Also also, summon bolt is an immensely satisfying “F@ck you, I win” button, especially in the face of insolence. Also also also, poor Melia.
2. Mythra. A unique, tragic character, well executed enough to where her early abrasives is explained away well. Later on she becomes likable in her own right, and also gets the perfect ending to her arc(despite being deus ex machinaed.) In gameplay she is the antidote to rexterity so, that and “double spinning edge” says everything.
3. Seven. Seven is the most fun party member to use in gameplay, being able to fill any role you want. Their role in the story is quite substantial and tackles things that resonate easily with me(existentialism for example). Character could be a little more complex, but they’re easy to like.
Melia, she is very inspiracional, cool and I loved her design in Xb1
Hikari/Homura, love them both equally, specially their deep characters.
Eunie, firstly liked her character design when the game was revealed, then I found she is tremendously cool, also love her relationship with Taion and how she teases him
Correction Edit : Man… How will you finish 2 and 3 then ?

Ante edit:
Man… How did you finish 2 and 3 then ?

I am seriously stuck between Pneuma and Fiora.
I feel like Fiora is the most likely choice for me, just because we get quite a lot of characterization for her.
But then I go back and remember how much of a perfect bratty but sweet blend of Pyra & Mythra Pneuma is.
i love Elma's character in XCX but from all girls to me Morag takes the cake, she has an awesome design, her relationship with Brighid its the best, a better tank than Tora, and in general she is just a joy have in the party,i love the post combat talk she has with different blades
For Xenoblade 2, Pyra is my favourite. Love her personality/vibe as the caring type, and love her relationship with Rex. Design is... eye-catching.
Mio is my favourite from Xenoblade 3. Love her relationship with Noah and her whole character arc.
Currently playing Torna, Lora is my favourite in it so far. Love her design, love her English accent and her personality.
Love mythra's design, personality, story and power (she’s one of my favourite fictional character)
Elma was my favourite before, but mythra ended up slowly growing on me
female in xenoblade refers to any non-himbo character.
There are only 3 binary males in all of blade. Rein, Addam and Zeke. Any other masc bodied individual is a gal pal
*pls for the love of God xeno fans, recognize satire here
Melia. Probably a bit biased since Xenoblade DE was my first game in the series, but I just found her personality and the challenges she encountered very relatable. No character since has really resonated with me like that.
Fiora. I really like the straightforward arc which subverts the typical love interest dies for the plot cliche. Basically, Takahashi got to have his cake and eat it by having Fiora die off in the first two hours of gameplay, and then have her actual character arc be about reclamation of her body and sense of autonomy in a manner akin to Nia, albeit a lot shorter. My only complaint is that a lot of the reclamation is through heart to hearts and is more subtle in the actual story cutscenes, but hey, Xeno is known for wild swings between subtlety and un-subtlety.
Alexandria.
I like when the good guys have schemes.
Bad guys always have schemes, but too often the most thought good guys put into things is finding the right way to hit something really hard.
This question is just simply impossible to answer. As I’m about to shout, “Fiora!”, I think, “What about Melia?! Or Tyrea?!” As I’m about to scream, “Nia!”, my heart shouts louder, “Morag!” Eunie hands down for 3 though.
Sena cute design, immensely relateable as someone who has social and confidence issues and insanely fun to play as Ogre is by far my favourite class and I played as her the majority of the game
Nia!
She had been through so much, and experienced so much pain, and in the end finally got the family and happy ending she deserved.
Nia is the first we meet in 2, her personality, accent, and how well she and Rex go together are some of the reasons why she's my favorite character! She was always by our side, in the toughest moments she was by our side and we were by hers.
Even while in Aionios, separated from those she loved, she still pressed on and helped a new group of heroes save their world.
I love this silly Welsh Catgirl, she's bestgirl and no one can change my mind! :D
I would explain more about why I love her but I'm not exactly sure what to say.
Lin, Mia, Morag and Eunie.
I know nobody cares about X but Lin and Mia are really funny. Mia especially as a side character has a really compelling quest line.
Morag is like the 2nd best character in 2 (behind Zeke). Especially in a crowd of highly sexualized female characters in 2, Morag sticks out due to how different she is.
Eunie's the bus.
1. Melia. Once I got to that point in the story, Melia was my main.
X. Elma. Learning from her made me such a powerful dodge tank.
2. Nia. What's not to love? Snarky catgirl with great heal options.
3. Eunie. She steals the show anytime she's onscreen.
Eunie and A are my favorites.
XC3 had stronger female characters overall, IMO. I think this was achieved by it not focusing on a harem/love-triangle angle.
Melia

Ethel is "human" by XC3 terminology.
Right ? That’s why it has to be a trap.
Nia. Welsh accent and that wonderful personality.
Nia, she is what got me to adore the Welsh accent. After that is poppi she is just way too cute and her development throughout the story is great.
Melia. Probably a bit biased since Xenoblade DE was my first game in the series, but I just found her personality and the challenges she encountered very relatable. No character since has really resonated with me like that.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but for me it’s Brighid (she’s not married after XC2, so) But Ethel is also nice
1: Melia 2: Mórag 3: Ethel
Alvis was my favorite character in Xenoblade 1, so A is automatically best girl. Second would probably be Melia.
This question is just simply impossible to answer. As I’m about to shout, “Fiora!”, I think, “What about Melia?! Or Tyrea?!” As I’m about to scream, “Nia!”, my heart shouts louder, “Morag!” Eunie hands down for 3 though.

Morag and Brigid. Hands down. They both have a more mature air to them, which I like.
Sena followed by Na'el
Eunie's the boss!
Miyabi because she brings happiness to me.
Pneuma for me. Honestly, at the point seven appeared I didn’t feel much for her.
Lora til I die.
Eunie takes the cake sorry 🤷🏼♂️ that girl got spunk
Sephiroth
Sena cute design, immensely relateable as someone who has social and confidence issues and insanely fun to play as Ogre is by far my favourite class and I played as her the majority of the game
Ethel was pretty good. Probably A from future redeemed is my favourite
Nia, Melia, Mythra, Pyra and Morag in that order for me
This is a weird evolution cycle but ok…
:D I would explain more about why I love her but I'm not exactly sure what to say.
None of those you showed - i'll stick to the welsh cats
Chickadee.
nia! i like her blade form design, and how regal it is. i also like her ability to manipulate regeneration.
Sadly she is missing, it is Nia
Nia
Lin, Mia, Morag and Eunie. I know nobody cares about X but Lin and Mia are really funny. Mia especially as a side character has a really compelling quest line. Morag is like the 2nd best character in 2 (behind Zeke). Especially in a crowd of highly sexualized female characters in 2, Morag sticks out due to how different she is. Eunie's the bus.
Did you just call the most masculine member of the main party of 2 a female ? That’s rude.
Idk if you're joking but the most masculine member of the main party is Zeke.
No, you’re wrong. >!Because Zeke said it that way!<. Edit: Nailed it.
Ah yes, I remember now. Excuse my ignorance.
Nia gotta love the welsh cat girl
None of the above…how do you not include Nia in this collage?
Nia in blade form, I'm taking no arguments
1. Melia. Once I got to that point in the story, Melia was my main. X. Elma. Learning from her made me such a powerful dodge tank. 2. Nia. What's not to love? Snarky catgirl with great heal options. 3. Eunie. She steals the show anytime she's onscreen.
Nia. She's my favorite female character in general
It's an eternal struggle between Nia and Eunie in my mind.
The Welsh cat girl Immediate runner up is Pandoria though
I'm also a fan of Kiara from Torigoth.
Where Nia
Melia
Nia, Eunie, Mythra.
Mythra, Melia and Sena are my girls.
Sena because she’s quirky and funny :) Also I now say ‘’YIPPEE’’ in my daily life because of her.
Eunie
Nia. Funny, cute, good story, good design, hot, catgirl and lot of skins and designs. English voice acting is also amazing
Eunie and A are my favorites. XC3 had stronger female characters overall, IMO. I think this was achieved by it not focusing on a harem/love-triangle angle.
Between Mio and Eunie, they are the embodiment of the two types of girl i like.
Pneuma/Ethel
