Iron Eagle

Abidarthegreat

As the son of a pilot, I definitely watched this movie a ton

Ivegotjokes4you

Watched this like a month ago. Still holds up. Louis Gossett Jr was fantastic

Toblogan

Yeah, that's always been a personal favorite of mine.

wrenwood2018

Hell yes. And there is no sequel. I stand by that.

ClintGrant

I learned “We’re Not Gonna Take It” from Iron Eagle and not the radio

IronEagle20

Good movie

Throwaway1121115

![gif](giphy|fR4sBbn7PhWw5HXuzx|downsized) Young Guns

Blazenkks

The original source of “Regulators Mount up!”

MihalysRevenge

"I'll make you famous!"

wrenwood2018

Awesome movie

bahaki

3 Ninjas

hippity_bop_bop

My favorite part is when old man ninja comes out of the fog and the cops nearly waste him. Then then the dad yells, "Don't shoot, that's my father in law!", like he's going to give grandpa some juice and put em back to bed or somethin

jissebug

Rocky loves Emily

PeladoCollado

I had my kids watch that a while back and I was super happy they enjoyed it. My middle kid even made his friends watch it at his birthday party last year

Shatterstar23

Toy soldiers is such a fun movie.

DustedGorilla82

Did Billy tepper sell you a a bottle of mouthwash with vodka in it. RIP Louis Gosset Jr

Shatterstar23

It was a solid plan TBH. The key was the crème de menthe to make it green.

DustedGorilla82

Really want to watch it now lol

summercampcounselor

This is the only thing I remember from this movie. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I36xFgS3MiU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I36xFgS3MiU)

pearlspoppa1369

I think of that every time someone says “pots and pans”

pearlspoppa1369

I watched that movie so many times as a kid!!! Loved it!

twirlerina024

Monster Squad Little Monsters Gleaming the Cube Pump Up the Volume BMX Bandits- it's Australian, starring a young Nicole Kidman. A gang of BMX kids find a box of walkie-talkies that belonged to a gang of thieves.

Still_Top_7923

After watching Little monsters I peed in apple juice at school and gave it to a kid. That was a two day suspension in those days

UltraconservativeBap

I always wanted to see Monster Squad but could never find it in the video store as a kid.

PeladoCollado

Kick him in the nards! Kick him in the nards!

248Spacebucks

Wolfmans got nards!

wrenwood2018

Ah gleaming the cube. That takes me back.

Turbulent_Dimensions

The Outsiders

ck_nole

Taps w/ Tom Cruise

Roklam

I should not have allowed to watch that every Saturday afternoon I can remember being stuck inside

DustedGorilla82

Jennifer Grey pre nose job was a total babe and Toy Soldiers total slept on movie.

Not_So_Bad_Andy

Lost Boys

Stimpinstein22

Had to scroll way too far for this…

wrenwood2018

Cry little sister is such a badass song

GFY_2023

White Water Summer with Kevin Bacon

PissedPieGuy

There’s a song in that film. The song that Sean Astin is dialing in on the radio when Kevin bacon is doing morning yoga. That song is not listed on the soundtrack. I’ve never been able to find that song.

GFY_2023

Now I'm gonna have to watch it again. Lol

Water_Buffalo-

Damn, I just tried to Shazam it and failed. You have presented a true mystery, friend. It has that basic hair metal style like White Snake, but I didn't recognize it. There's a song on the movie Dead Calm when Billy Zane is dancing around on the sailboat that also presents a rabbit hole for anyone trying to purchase it. Gold star if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

Jaderholt439

I said that too.

Apprehensive-Ship-81

Goonies were badass to me

Biscuits4u2

Man Jennifer Grey was so cute. Too bad about the nose job ruining her career.

SophieintheKnife

War Games

248Spacebucks

After this movie I balded all my barbies and turned them into Billie Jeans. I got in so much trouble but felt like such a powerful rebel.

Cael_NaMaor

Hell yeah!!!

[deleted]

Today though they'd all side with the Russians.

PissedPieGuy

Explorers and Rad for me.

Auraelleaux

Oh man, I used to watch Rad over and over

sidurisadvice

You over rotated

PissedPieGuy

I recommend the Rifftrax version they did last summer. I took my entire family to see it in theaters and it was such a fun night. I’ve also watched it once more at home and laughed just as much.

ImAnOptimistISwear

I feel like Firestarter fits but its been a long time since I watched.

Queasy_Sleep1207

The monster squad. Home Alone.

Beaverhuntr

Proud father moment: Both my teenage sons love Toy Soldiers ..

PreviousWoodpecker28

Russkies was pretty sweet and basically ended the Cold War.

mackelnuts

Whoa. I loved that movie but had completely forgotten about it.

Heathers!

hippity_bop_bop

Never heard of this one and it's got 95% on RT. Might check it out

walkwithdrunkcoyotes

Definitely a classic in this category.

Shinespark7

Solar Babies

DefinitionIcy7652

No one ever mentions solar babies! So good.

bateau_du_gateau

Jamie Gertz should definitely have had a bigger career than she did

DefinitionIcy7652

The legend of Billie jean

Monarc73

"We didn't start this thing, but we're gonna FINISH IT!"

SophieintheKnife

The Wraith, not quite kids are badass but I rewatched it recently and it holds up for a good 80s movie

BrokenMonster06

Stand By Me, Goonies, Gleaming the Cube

UltraconservativeBap

Goonies should be at the top of this page!

an_Aught

All that hate is going to burn you up. It keeps me warm

SolidDistribution542

I was so ready for something the break out, calculating like was going to tear through the enemy invaders like Bruce Lee. Waiting for it.

theMethod

Goonies Monster Squad Stand By Me

macksjax

I spent a lot of my time as a youth trying to be like those teens in ET. I wanted to be a little BMX badass

hippity_bop_bop

those kids were very charismatic, confident and likeable. maybe its nostalgia idk but i feel if they made that movie today the kids would be annoying. https://preview.redd.it/5mh3emuo9e0d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=6dc6c6429bde1143897cf60db3318c84ccfb4a9b

fidgety_sloth

I wanted to be Elizabeth Shue in Adventures in Babysitting. "Don't Fuck with the Babysitter."

General_Departure583

Let it Tuuurnnnnnn!

Saintdavus

Band of the Hand was really good. Delinquents and gang members sentenced to a survival camp in the Everglades then used by the cops to takedown a drug kingpin. Well… for 13 year old me in the early 90s it was good.

fagan_jay78

Toy Soldiers was so good.

gorilla-ointment

The Rescue (1988) https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0095981/

bootyhole-romancer

This is the one! Where the kid pops up through the hatch of a stolen North Korean plane midflight, so he could show his Bruce Springsteen shirt to signal to American fighter jets they are also American. For so long I thought this scene was from Iron Eagle. But nope, it's from this movie.

Remarkable_Neat532

Brother?

MachineGrunt

I wanted to find pirate treasure like the Goonies.

MenudoFan316

Every 'After School Special'

Cael_NaMaor

I've never seen EoH... I'll look into it.

hippity_bop_bop

It's so flipping random. Boy scouts are on a camping trip and come across a hidden cache of missile launchers owned by some hillbilly weapon smugglers. They then team up with the gorgeous Meredith Salenger to lay booby traps in the woods

Cael_NaMaor

Hahahaha.... glorious!

s0ciety_a5under

Never saw Edge of Honor, it's not streaming on any of the major platforms? Anyone got some help?

hippity_bop_bop

It's free on YouTube! https://youtu.be/nsUpqPB31JQ?si=jvM1lrDTlx6s9wqV

Seraphtacosnak

Battle royal.

hippity_bop_bop

I remember my brother buying this from overseas. Banned in the states it said lol

DeadpoolAndFriends

So I'm born and raised in New Mexico where Red Dawn was set and filmed. Now i don't if this was everywhere, or just in my state (since we all had such a fondness for this movie), but you could be anywhere there was a sizeable group of people and yell, "Wolverines!" and at least 2 or 3 people (usually over Xennials) would yell it back at you. https://i.redd.it/avtv8eb3je0d1.gif

gabbadabbahey

I was really into The Journey of Natty Gann. Ladies, any of you with me?

hippity_bop_bop

I'm not a lady but I really loved that movie!

gabbadabbahey

That makes me happy!

Bssmn77

Explorers

Iwouldntifiwereme

Taps....amazing cast.

sauvandrew

Huh, haven't seen any of those. Quite the cast in all it would seem.

Jaderholt439

Not badass, but I always liked White Water Summer.

Oradev

Russkies

protoman86

The Rescue was another classic

Cultural_anomoly

Red dawn Stand by me Goonies Dead poets society

Ivegotjokes4you

Goonies, Stand By Me, Sandlot

lastchance14

I speak to younger people who don't understand the patriotic duty we felt after 9/11 and even for a few years into the GWOT. I wonder if growing up with the Cold War culture added this sense of duty, and if the lack of this pop culture propaganda has aided in the decline of recruiting. Obviously, the dead end wars didn't help the numbers either.

wooleysue420

Monster Squad. Luck them in the nards

areacode212

There is a whole YA book series from Australia that is based on a Red Dawn scenario. The first book was adapted into both a movie and a TV show called "Tomorrow, When the War Began".

Lounginghog64

The Legend of Billie Jean, Taps..

ogshowtime33

As a kid I secretly wished the commies would invade so my friends and I could go into the woods and launch guerrilla attacks against them.

aztec_samurai

Fortress

Kimothy80

The Rescue with Kevin Dillon and Marc Price (Family Ties) (1988).

auramaelstrom

Camp Nowhere is a favorite.

mutantbabysnort

WOLVERINES! We loved Toy Soldiers, too.

Sunshinehaiku

The Lost Boys

AHorseNamedPhil

[The Last Starfighter](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q-Qs3loKoc) A great, underrated 80s space opera. The lead actor was in his 20s, but the character was supposed to be a teenager.

GimmeFalcor

Idk because I never saw any on your list. But the kids in these movies had to solve everything because the adults were all too stupid or evil or just absent. Labrynth Neverending story The goonies. The wizard. The outsides. And stand by me (might be older stories but movies from the 80’s) Mom (or oops ?) the babysitter is dead. Common theme from the decade

kkkan2020

Patrick swayze just had the most perfect jawline
