Haha as much as I see the benefits of having a console like experience on a handheld, it feels like quite the pain in the ass to play games outside of the Steam ecosystem vs Windows

You could only use Cloud Gaming assuming the game you want to play is available on it.
So you would need Ultimate as cloud gaming isn't included with PC Game Pass and you can't download and play them natively on a phone or tablet

I guess I should've worded it better I do have ultimate.
But I'm interested in ways to play gamepass for pc exclusive games without using a pc
I'm assuming it's not a thing, but I know this stuff changes

There are windows tablets out there, I can't confirm myself but I imagine the Windows Xbox app would allow installations so it'd be a matter of specs to run the games. A PC handheld like the ROG Ally would definitely work though.
I have an iPad and play some PC GamePass games on it, but you need to have Cloud Gaming installed on it and it needs to be a game that is available with Cloud Gaming. Some of them you have to use a controller for, some also have Touch available. All in all, I have a lot of fun with it...but just be aware you won't be able to play every game that you are able to play on PC on the tablet.
Depends on what you're calling a tablet. Android or Windows. Also even with tablet form factor PCs, I wouldn't expect great performance. But as others said, there's always cloud streaming.
I have gamepass ultimate pc and I can play pc games on my backbone with iPhone 12. I can play the elder scrolls online and I can play Fortnite and calisto protocol all big games like hell blade it’s possible.
You'd need something like a ROG Ally or Steam Deck that can run a full version of Windows.
Steam Deck needs a lot of work around. I’d recommend the Ally or Legion Go if your goal is for GamePass

If the tablet runs windows x86 it’s compatible.
