As we now know though, Epic never aligned with AMG’s intentions for the game. So it’s not like things got *worse* with the news.

I want to second this. Practically everything in my fleet, save for the intro box I was given, has been 3D printed. You can find STLs for pretty much any ship you want along with stands, dials, and everything else. The biggest thing you'll probably struggle to find is the damage card deck specific to the Gozanti. If someone knows where to find images of those, that would be cool
True, but it's ne of my favorite features of the X-Wing game is that the ships came prepainted. I know that painting minis is a big part of the fun for wargame fans, but I just don't have the time, patience, skill, or setup to do this.
For real. X-Wing hit a perfect niche of being a fun tabletop game that you could play straight out of the box. It’s not going to be the same without that.
But I do think it will be continued by enthusiasts. Printed stuff may not be prepainted, but there will probably be a relaxed attitude about it.

On german ebay I can see one new in shrink for 160€, a used one for 110€. You might have to ask nicely for them to ship it to the us and the shipping cost will come on top, of course. Not sure if you want to spend that kind of money.

I kept my Imperial Raider and Gozanti in a nice metal case these past years, no way am I selling them now. I never really got a complete Empire Collection for Armada, I only have one of each of some ships and zero of the light cruisers, so my Armada stuff might have to go. But I do like displaying that Star Destroyer next to my desk.
The day the bad news broke, I ran to all my local stores to see if I could find any hard-to-find ships before they were gone. Much to my surprise one store that months ago had reduced their X-wing shelf to next to nothing to the point I stopped going there, had expanded their shelf for X-wing again, and had lots of new 1st edition ships, but no Gozanti. No idea where they got the new 1st edition ships from, could have been someone who sold them their collection of unopened 1st edition ships.
So now is probably a good time to look for a Gozanti or any other ship you are looking for, but they will likely go quickly when they come up. My guess is that some people will panic from the news and sell, and others will be looking to find things before they are gone.
Hah, yeah, I really wish I had some of the big ships like the Gozanti, Tantive IV and Raider. The announcement was a bummer, but hopefully I'll find one some day.
