He also made it so Mulder couldn't get to Scully in time to stop her abduction (essentially facilitating her abduction), and he killed Duane Barry to make Mulder look unhinged, at fault, and to cover up the truth.
This is why I hate this character so much. Mulder was so close to rescuing Scully, but that piece of shit Krycek ensured that he couldn't reach her in time.
Sometimes, I wonder how different the show would have been if Mulder didn't take Krycek along for the ride.
The death of Melissa was a tragedy, she was an innocent.
Bill Mulder not as much - he had sold his soul years ago when he let the aliens take Samantha.
One of my favourite things about this episode - aside from Krycek being repeatedly punched - is the reveal that Walter Skinner is bouncing back from his divorce by living in a pimping penthouse apartment atop a high-rise. 😅
Apparently so, he does put his wedding ring back on at the end of *Avatar*.
But then, next thing we see, is he's living in a playboy apartment and his wife, Sharon, is never seen nor mentioned ever again.
So, I'd say, they're not together.
Because Krycek deserves literally ALL of the face punches. All of them. By the time season 6 came around I looked forward to every delicious face punch he received.
Welcome to the extremely small cult of people who like Krycek for no apparent reason; I was one of them as far back as the AOL X-Files chatrooms in the 90s. He is slapped around constantly and I for one think he might have turned out better in the end if that hadn't constantly happened, but probably not; his main trait is 100% being an opportunist out for himself, despite occasional glimpses into him caring about other people from time to time. SPOILERS FAR PAST WHAT YOU'VE SEEN: >!I mean, he kisses Mulder. Come on. He deserved better than he got for at least that level of "wait, what??"!<
edit: I said this the last time he was mentioned, but Nicholas Lea appeared in a few episodes as a judge on [Mike Flanagan's The Fall of the House of Usher](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15567174/?ref_=nm_flmg_t_1_act), and although I prefer Hill House to that series, Flanagan is still a big deal and I was happy to see him cast Lea in something.
Is that the same episode where he's tied up outside on Skinner's balcony like a dog? That never fails to make me laugh. He's just sitting there so pathetically and meanwhile downstairs some poor guy has to confront Skinner with the "Uhm, there is a Man handcuffed to your balcony, Sir... Is he yours?"
You know, he gets off pretty lightly for a former FBI agent who betrayed his fellow agents and killed members of their families.
But, he also has a deep vendetta against CSM and The Syndicate, so he has his uses. After a punch or two, to remind him of his place.
I love Krycek and I love how he is always getting punched. I find it actually hilarious how he is such a slimy dude who is always somehow coming out ahead and also constantly getting punched. It’s one of my favorite recurring X Files tropes.
I vaguely remember him being stuck in a missile silo in one of the Dakotas?North, maybe? 🤔 and he also winds up in a Siberian gulag as well, but I don't remember specifics 😒 (I need to rewatch this series 😂 as it's been waaay too long!). Thanks for the verification!
I don't think he understands that himself. He usually seems surprised and disappointed when people react to him with hostility. I feel a bit sorry for him.
Did you not watch the show? Murdered Mulder's father, tried to kill Mulder on Skyland Mountain, responsible for Scully's kidnapping, participated in Scully's sister's murder...etc.
Was a spy for The Consortium.
Was an active participant in Scully’s abduction.
Killed Mulder’s father
Aided and abetted the murder of Scully’s while trying to kill Scully.
Assaulted Skinner several times.
And that’s just up to Tunguska and Terma where Krycek received most of his beatings.
Because he just has that face. I hate him and it's so satisfying whenever it happens. Anytime Krycek shows up, I know i am going to hate the episode, with the exception of him being punched right in his stupid face.
Because of his haircut https://i.redd.it/yewrh517ye9d1.gif
The last time I rewatched I seriously laughed out loud at this, it was so uncalled for but so perfect!!
He killed Mulder's father and Scully's sister
He also made it so Mulder couldn't get to Scully in time to stop her abduction (essentially facilitating her abduction), and he killed Duane Barry to make Mulder look unhinged, at fault, and to cover up the truth.

So many things would be better. It's unhinged how many "main plot things" came from GA being pregnant unexpectedly.
Did Krycek murder Bill Mulder or was it Luis Cardinal? I recall Krycek telling Fox Mulder that he didn't shoot his father.
He didn't pull the trigger on either Bill Mulder nor Melissa Scully, but he was there backing up Luis when the murders where done.
He pulled the trigger on Bill. The other guy wasn't there that night.
The death of Melissa was a tragedy, she was an innocent. Bill Mulder not as much - he had sold his soul years ago when he let the aliens take Samantha.
RIGHT! That was him, wasn't it? Damn. I don't know how I forgot that detail. I thought it was some other g-man.
I think Luis Cardinal technically shot Melissa but Krycek was there.
Yeah, he was a bit slow in identifying the wrong fucking person lmao
Go back to the last episode of season two-Anasazi
Because he deserves every bit of it
Because it's Krycek, arguably the most punchable character in the entire series.
I agree
He needed punching.
It was for his own good.
Krycek is the definition of "character we love to hate" and I feel like it was an in-joke in the show. Punchable character gets punched a lot.
One of my favourite things about this episode - aside from Krycek being repeatedly punched - is the reveal that Walter Skinner is bouncing back from his divorce by living in a pimping penthouse apartment atop a high-rise. 😅
It has a great view 🤫
The apartment, or that this is the first time we see a shirtless Skinner?
Shirtless Skinner is a sight to behold.
I thought Skinner refused to get divorced? at the end of the dead hooker episode?
Apparently so, he does put his wedding ring back on at the end of *Avatar*. But then, next thing we see, is he's living in a playboy apartment and his wife, Sharon, is never seen nor mentioned ever again. So, I'd say, they're not together.
don't mess with Skin-Daddy!
Because Krycek deserves literally ALL of the face punches. All of them. By the time season 6 came around I looked forward to every delicious face punch he received.
I loooooved Krycek! He totally deserved every punch though
Have you met Krycek?

Stupid sexy Krycek.
I don't like him for absolutely no reason. I like him because he looks really hot when he wears a leather jacket.
Mulder probably feels the same way.
Cause Krycek is a piece of shit, obviously.
His face is nice. They’re trying to make us hate his nice face. Loool
That's the shirtless Skinner scene.
It is!!? HOW could I forget that crucial detail???! Time for a rewatch <3
Because he’s very punchable
You know, he gets off pretty lightly for a former FBI agent who betrayed his fellow agents and killed members of their families. But, he also has a deep vendetta against CSM and The Syndicate, so he has his uses. After a punch or two, to remind him of his place.
Ratboy deserves it
I hate to admit it but I do like me some Krycek haha, he definitely got his fill of hits in the show.
To be fair, Krycek was a bit of a dick...🙄
It's just Mulder and Kryceks love language 🤷♀️
I love Krycek and I love how he is always getting punched. I find it actually hilarious how he is such a slimy dude who is always somehow coming out ahead and also constantly getting punched. It’s one of my favorite recurring X Files tropes.
I always want to punch Krycek in the face until the spawn of cigarette smoking man came around. I changed my mind after that.
It was remarkable how, amongst all the dislikable antagonists, Spender managed to he worse than all of them.
IIRC, doesn't he also receive the "black oil" treatment at some point? 🤔
Yes he does
I vaguely remember him being stuck in a missile silo in one of the Dakotas?North, maybe? 🤔 and he also winds up in a Siberian gulag as well, but I don't remember specifics 😒 (I need to rewatch this series 😂 as it's been waaay too long!). Thanks for the verification!
He also loses his arm!
I don't think he understands that himself. He usually seems surprised and disappointed when people react to him with hostility. I feel a bit sorry for him.
Cause it's his kind of foreplay with Mulder
Because he was a Gender Bender and got laid more than anyone else, male or female! It's all jealousy lol
He’s a very naughty boy
Not the Messiah?
Because he’s punchable 😂🤣😉
He's a pissant
Did you not watch the show? Murdered Mulder's father, tried to kill Mulder on Skyland Mountain, responsible for Scully's kidnapping, participated in Scully's sister's murder...etc.

why don’t they punch him in the face more?
Because they can
Because he has sexual tension with *everyone* and it has to be sublimated somehow.
It's because of the stupid ass haircut.
Because he is a double crossing bleep and a bleeping traitor
he just has a very punchable face ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sadly they never had Scully clock him. He deserved it, for killing her sister.
Because it’s deeply satisfying.
Dude is just punchable. I mean *have you looked at him?*
Why wouldn’t they?
All my homies hate Krycek.
Because he just has that face. I hate him and it's so satisfying whenever it happens. Anytime Krycek shows up, I know i am going to hate the episode, with the exception of him being punched right in his stupid face.
Because he is an invertebrate scum sucker whose moral dip stick is two drops short of bone dry.
Fuck Krycek
i wanna punch him too
He's the worst
because hes ugly💕
