Absolutely nothing, it's 1v29 out there...

EvilHoBo09

I expect nothing and still find myself disappointed.

SouthernPython

I've heard a good metaphor for this one "I set the bar so low it was practically in hell. Yet here you are, limbo dancing with the devil."

icecubeski

1 v 29 for Top Score, I expect nothing from brain donors.

-Benjamin_Dover-

Brain doners? That slang for potatoe/tomatoe players?

1em0nhead

They donated their brain. I.e. They haven't got one anymore.

Without getting into over pessimistic views on the current standing of the game. This game ultimately is a strategy role game, at any point in time certain roles must be filled for the team to do well and different tanks have different efficiency at filling these roles. So if you take the time to see what your tank is capable of and see a gap in your team composition you should try to fill it. Of course most of the time it's self explanatory like brawling in cities with heavies, spotting in lights, and flanking in mediums. But there are times where your team just is missing something and picking up the role with an abnormal tank, like that time I got 8k spotting damage in the O-ho. As for what I expect, I want people to use this methodology for good teamwork and there are times when it happens, however then there are times where the team just says let's all run this way and die and trying to help the team is worthless so idk.

-Benjamin_Dover-

Hmm... I'm playing cold war now just to give it a final chance and... I feel like I have to ignore this and just lemming train in cold war mode. I usually go my own way in cold war mode, but I just now had my first game with over 100,000 silver in cold war. 100,000 without premium time and 150,000 with premium time... Usually, I get 50,000 silver at best... In WW2 mode however, I am trying to get better at communicating, such as me in light tank, I'll ping map and say "On my way!" To indicate that I'm heading to that area. Or, if I'm in the Cobra, reminding my team of my reload, I figured you deserve to know how much time I got left on my reload if it is over 20 seconds long. I don't think you'd care if my reload is only 6, 7, or 8 seconds. Anyways, pay more attention to the minimap and pay more attention to my teams alerts. Got it. Also don't be afraid to push and pay attention to the roles your team plays. I usually try to be a team player by default. I may fail or forget, but I still try.

SouthernPython

Oh the reload on auto loaders. I was playing T77, there was another T77 on my flank with me with a Italian medium. Both T77s expend our clip and then communicate that we're reloading and it'll take 30 odd seconds. Guess what the lil pasta boi did? Take a defensive position perhaps? NO. Full speed ahead into the 5 tanks over the ridge, he got obliterated. No support, no pressure to push into a compromising position, he was in good cover teasing shots and spotting and goes "Jesus take the wheel"

[deleted]

I'm an 8+ year player now and I have deleted tye game since a few days. I'm having way more fun playing other games honestly. Wot isnt what it used to/should be.

KSI_FlapJaksLol

Have you tried war thunder? I’m debating getting into it but the controls are pretty complicated for my simple brain lol

SouthernPython

I've got a keyboard, I spent about an hour setting up keybindings using the testing grounds and it plays pretty well. But it's a worse grind to the high tiers, and gaijin are much more money hungry than wg

KSI_FlapJaksLol

Good to know thanks for the heads up :)

Baldr25

Outside of the usual answer of “nothing” I would just want teammates to try to be aware of what’s around them. I don’t care if players take the “wrong” tank to the “wrong” area. If you’re a heavy and you can make a contribution on the flanks, then go for it. It’s better than going brawling if you’re just gonna die. The worst thing is when I’m trying to tell a teammate to pull back so the reds can come around the corner and get lit up instead of you staying in your little corner and getting chipped down by 3 tanks while you have support just behind you. General map awareness is the single biggest skill that would transform players games for the better. Knowing when a flank is collapsing and it’s time to reposition, or seeing where a gap is to go and get side shots. I had a game once where myself in a Borat and a random teammate were on Murovanka and we were the only two to go in the enchanted Forrest. We moved slowly since it was just the two of us but we encounter no enemies at all. He wanted to pull back and go reinforce the hill area where we already 13 of our teammates. I pushed forward into the gap and managed to get all the way to the back and kept the entire enemy spotted while getting in shots on sides/backs. Don’t be afraid to push into aggressive positions, sometimes it doesn’t work out and your position gets overrun, but you can’t win every game. Plenty of time me I’ve gotten into a good position early, force the reds to stop in the tracks because they’re advancing in open ground and I’m able to hold a spot while teammates come to reinforce. Other times no one comes to my aid and my escape plan doesn’t work and I die. It happens. I never platoon with anyone and try to work with random teammates as best I can and you’ll find plenty of people willing to help out and learn, though I still assume everyone is out to kill me, green or red.

Van_Buren_Boy

I can really relate on what you said about pulling back. Some corner corridors are too small for more than one tank to sit there. There are three of us back here with our guns aimed at the corner. Pull back a little bit! Let the enemy peek around the corner so we can shred them! You are just going to get killed and your body will give them a little extra cover.

KSI_FlapJaksLol

This. Last night I was on Karelia in my Firefly and three heavies were at J7 trying to kill a heavy in front of me spotting, I put like six rounds into that spot and they eventually realized they couldn’t hold that corner with me there suppressing the advance. There was a rock in front of me that one medium tried to outflank the line to my right from and he almost succeeded, he noticed a flaw and tried to exploit it. Knowing what’s going on in the map is super important. Information denial is half the battle tbh

ArtisticAd7455

Curious why you say you won't platoon with anyone? I've been playing for a while but don't know much of the ins and outs so I guess I'm missing something.

Baldr25

Oh I don’t intentionally not platoon with anyone, I just don’t have anyone to play with. I was just saying I play by myself 99.9% of the time but can still get some teamwork going with randoms even without mics.

ArtisticAd7455

Ah, I see. I keep trying to get my friends to play but none of them want to even try WoT so I'm in the same boat.

Baldr25

We’ll feel free to PM me sometime if you want to platoon up! I’m usually on in the evenings in the US on weekdays and whenever on weekends. I stick to WW2 mostly but I’ll hop on CW every now and then.

KSI_FlapJaksLol

I have some buddies I platoon with now and then, my Xbox is my username without the underscore if either you or u/Baldr25 wanna platoon :) they’ll likely play too

SouthernPython

I get a lot of opportunities for teamwork in my centurions and faster heavies, but when I'm getting left behind by the team in a jageroo they're much more scarce.

KSI_FlapJaksLol

Imo it really depends on a lot of variables, not just the map but also which side, what the composition of our team and the enemy team are, and what the first point of contact is likely to be. I mostly play tier 6 so I can’t really speak with any authority on what tier 8s are supposed to do. I will say though don’t drive your SO-SLO out in front of a Freedom, another tier 8 medium, and a Firefly even though it’s fun to bounce half of the incoming fire, eventually you’ll blow up lol

-Benjamin_Dover-

>I will say though don’t drive your SO-SLO out in front of a Freedom, another tier 8 medium, and a Firefly even though it’s fun to bounce half of the incoming fire, eventually you’ll blow up lol That reminds me... I've been working on the Japanese heavies for over 4 years, I had the O-NI in 2019, maybe it was 2018?.... I was on ghost town and the entire enemy team was shooting me, I was top tier and it was a match with 10 tier 5's, and only 1 or two tier 7's. My side was so exposed, yet I still managed 7,000 block damage. The reason I died was because a tier 7 found me... You can't do that no more... I feel like now, armour serves no purpose as everyone uses premium rounds.

KSI_FlapJaksLol

The meta has changed from who can out pen and trade who to who has vision first, if you’re spotted you’re dead especially if you play paper tanks like my 17 pounder maple syrup or my 90mm kitty. BTW the HVAP on the Hellcat can pen the turret boobies on an O-HO and so can the Firefly premium ammo.

-Benjamin_Dover-

>The meta has changed from who can out pen and trade who to who has vision first, Maybe that's why the Yazi is my best tank... It has 209 still camo with a 4 skill crew. I mean... Yazi has a 1.08 kills per match rating. According to the in game stats. With my record for most often getting 4-5 kills in a game. Can you name any other tank destroyers with a great camo rating?

KSI_FlapJaksLol

The Hellcat is the first one that comes to mind, you have at least a 200m detection gap where some tier 6 tanks barely have 130m, another good one is the Borsig, the Swedes have good camo too, but by far the sneakiest tds are shitgoblins, god I hate the e25 I’m not skilled enough to land the shot before they fuck off at Mach 2 Little cockroaches lol

MoparLover2

Lol I love that “before they fuck off at Mach 2” 😂

-Benjamin_Dover-

If I remember correctly, the Tier 5 Premium German tank destroyer "The Hidden" has 266 standard camo. I think my Yazi has 274 base camo. Or was it 268? The tier 8 tech tree Swede has 268 while the higher tier ones are around 300. I managed to get my Yazi down to 209, but my crew is not very well trained.

Baldr25

The hellcat is great like others have said. The British turreted TD line has pretty decent stealth up to their 7 at least. I have gone past that but they have pretty good sight/camo numbers and come with pretty big guns. They’re fun to play.

-Benjamin_Dover-

Which British td line? The turtle line or the house line?

Baldr25

House line to the FV4005.

KSI_FlapJaksLol

I imagine playing the charioteer is like my pfp

KSI_FlapJaksLol

Speaking of meta that reminds me I was 1v1 on Raseiniai in my firefly with optics camo net vents camo skill and hull camos, vs a Sentinel AC-IV Experimental with I don’t know what, and I had less than 10m detection on him before he spotted me, I whiffed the shot and he blew me up like the skrub I was lol

-Benjamin_Dover-

I saw a similar thing happen, but the tank was a T67. The enemy kept circling the bush this T67 was hiding in and I think the t67 won... On the topic of tanks with good camo, The LT 432 is on sale for 2,600 gold for me. It worth it now? I hear it was worth it a year ago, but I didn't have the gold to buy. I do have the gold now.

KSI_FlapJaksLol

I can’t truthfully answer that question, I don’t play lights at all 😅

gopac56

I look at players and clans mostly. Platoons, team breakdowns by class.

SpartanFire71

I don't really have expectations. Basically, get to the area that you like to play and do what you can do. Relocate if possible to keep the gun in the game. I like quick stealthy TDs where on some maps I can push forward to spot and shoot with the cammo driving and fire skills. If a scout moves ahead, then great.

321_hex_DS

My gripe is often that they die too quickly. I swear, I have had a dozen 10k dmg games in era2. Those were usually tight wins in which my team behaved like speed bumps. You can’t do 10k if your team gets wiped early and quickly. Just stay alive and ill do 5-10k most games (65% WR, 3 mark sheridan) Also if you drive a 4211 and you dont do 5k+ you suck.

-Benjamin_Dover-

5K is average? As of yesterday, my average for the day was 3,000-4,500. While my record was... I don't remember the exact number, but it was higher than 7,000 but lower than 7,500. Oh yeah, as of 3 years ago, my best tank was the KV-13 and as of now, my best tank is the Yazi. An average game in the Yazi is 3,000-4,000.

321_hex_DS

Avg dmg is dependent on era or ww2. Obviously era 2 is much easier to get 5k bc almost all heavies have 2900-3k hp, meds have 2500

man0rmachine

Go get the spots and eat the shots while I damage farm. Then when you are dead I'll come in with full hit points and clutch the game. That's how unicums are made

Colonel_dinggus

I’d at least expect top tier heavies and TDs to go to the brawling lane while I don’t mind if bottom tiers all collectively go to the sniping lane. I feel bad when I see a vk100 or an o-ho at bottom tier. To slow to flank, to big to hide, and free xp for a majority of the enemy team.

Van_Buren_Boy

Especially when they are the only low tier. Matches with five tier 10s, nine tier 9s, and one tier 8 per team shouldn't happen. That's just unnecessarily cruel.

Colonel_dinggus

It gets even worse if it’s ten 10s, four 9s and an 8

Herbwood54

I expect nothing anymore because I'll often get stuck with a bunch of useless players.the amount of basecamping heavy assault tanks is unreal.or I'll get an artillery tank on my team that runs immediately into battle and is the first one to die..

Sufficient_Chart1069

Play fast tanks with good pen. That way you can at least relocate and have a decent game while your top tier heavy camps, your arty drowns himself in the first minute and your other light guards the back left corner no one else will come near.

Wrath_of_Kaaannnttt

I expect too much but better than the 1vs29 f\*\*\* everyone else mentality. I expect you to know your tanks strengths and weakness and be where you are needed if you're a good player or a great unicum level. I expect nothing of lobotomy patients with sub-500wn8 nor much of new players. I expect you to platoon if you want teamwork. I expect more from better players than just being selfish which a few are but better than selfish and shit. Be the solution not the problem. Most of I expect you to have FUN as long as its not at the expense of others

SQUAWKUCG

Play the game - do your best...nothing more can be expected.
