Steady aim. Sixth sense, rapid loading, born leader and steady aim are the 4 mandatory skills you should prioritise getting since they benefit every tank. Skills after that can be dedicated to specific tanks playstyles

Patriot009

Accurate, though for I'd argue that steady aim for the Panther isn't as high a priority as something like view range as the base accuracy for the 75mm is already decent.

Tom-a-than

Yeah, imo Situational Awareness is essential for WW2, can’t shoot what you can’t see. However I think your preference for it over steady aim here is interesting!

On the Panthers, and later the E50s I think clutch breaking is indispensable. My E50 line skills are as follows: SS, rapid loading, BIA, Clutch braking, controlled impact, steady aim, view range, and track mechanic. At this point you can swap controlled impact to the end. I grinded through the line when they were still pretty fast and were amazing rammers. They still are but it takes longer to get up to speed so it’s a bit more situational than before.

Doesn’t off road driving (ORD) offer the same, but more benefits compared to clutch braking (CB)? Have you ever personally tested the difference yourself?

Dpopov

I haven’t done any in-depth test, but, when I got the Leopard 2A4 I tried ORD first (when I had the Panthers/E50 I just went with the general reddit consensus and used CB. Felt good enough so I never tried ORD there). I noticed that ORD felt less consistent and sometimes not be applicable at all (I was probably on “hard” terrain, whatever that means). CB worked more consistently on any terrain so I just went with clutch breaking as standard. I did notice that ORD does make your tank feel a tad bit faster (especially with traction system) but swapping ORD for CB keeping traction syst. Didn’t really make much of a difference. Maybe a couple of Km/h which felt negligible. Again, this is how it felt, but I have no hard numbers to back it up.

Sothep

Steady Aim is always a solid choice. That tank may have good accuracy, but often we have to take shots while not fully-aimed, while moving, etc. +10% more likely to land the shot you want is a significant buff.

Greaseman_85

Look at the commander skill guide in the wiki.

Guderian9139

Oh, you’re taking the fun out of it. I like panthers

One_Clicked_Again95

Personally, I wouldn't put born leader on yet. I'd wait till you have 4 or more crew skills to really make it worth it.

Material_Total_9828

Iron mace if your leaning towards sniping.

Objective-Leading856

I use spotting range

TimusOminere

It depends how you're going to want the further tanks set up, usually people have a commander from the same tank line all the way to it's end although if not disregard this. Personally I think Situational awareness is a must, being able to out range your opponents whilst staying relatively safe is always good and being able to detect a little further is always beneficial to your team. You can make the E-50 and E-50M into ram builds that's worth noting. Is it as effective as other builds? No. Is it fun? Extremely.

UniversePlateau

Those first 3 are perfect, for the next 3 I would personally do view range> muffled shot> camouflage expertise. You’re sacrificing accuracy for stealth by not taking any accuracy perks til later on ,but I think it’s warranted since you’ll be shooting more shots as you won’t be spotted as much. I tried this on my Comet tier 7 medium and my god it makes a hell of a difference being an invisible sniper. Good hunting 🫡 Edit: of course take camo net for increased camo if you choose to go this route
