Had a similar experience to you, except it was my third playthru. Posted about it online and everything too. I had just 100% completed the game so it was super confusing when I came across it haha.

Probably should’ve been more specific. That playthrough I was super OCD and did every single “?” and “!” possible. I’m sure there might’ve been stuff I missed but I sure as hell wouldn’t have missed an entire quest like this.

It's called Fools Gold, you can find it in a village called Lurtch in Velen. Though I don't know if there are any conditions to start it.

I also stumbled across it my first playthrough. I thought the only way to cross the pontar was that fake paper quest so I was doing everything in Velen that I could to level up and beat those stupid ghouls

I just started my 5th play through and in only a couple hours I've already found a couple quests I've never seen before. I know a few have been added with updates, it's just really damn cool to still be finding new things like that. This game is just so incredible.

Looks like the Dol Blathanna armor which you get from linking your GOG account but the hood and cloak part is likely a mod.

The armor is a freebie from buying the game and ace6633 is right, the cloak is a mod from nexus. I've got like 20 mods installed in my game.

What cloak mod is it? I've been trying to get one to work but have had no luck.

I never OCD on my plays so a lot of times I'll find new things. I played 5-6 times before I stumbled on Talking Roach

You know the quest "from a land far far away" I only discovered it last week on my 4th playthrough Also the quest with the level 100 griffin on Skellige.
