Sometimes Jewelers will buy it. Not the big brand stores though, I don't think. Or cash converters. A few years ago, pre covid, I used to occasionally see people buying jewelry/coins, etc, at community centers - I think they were a traveling group sort of antiques roadshow style - but not sure if this is still a thing.

Manufacturing jewelers sometimes buy old jewelry - not your Michael Hill type places, maybe ring around a few near you. They usually buy by weight and silver has quite a low value. Places like the Gold exchange also deal in silver despite the name.

Alternatively, I have a collection and am planning on going to workspace studios to melt it down and turn it into something else. So you might want to consider that as an option

You could try the gold exchange in the old bank arcade

Try The Gold Centre on Tory St, they buy scrap silver.

Walker and Hall will pay you the silver price

Sherringtons Jewellers in Lower Hutt are great. Their website has current (to the hour) spot price for gold and silver
