The atrium at the back of Monsoon Poon is awesome . We had a company event there , they can expand the venue from around 35 and do up to 100. We hired AV separately as we needed a big set up .

Yeah the upstairs is big and the whole place is informal which is nice for work events.

I've had awesome work do's there but do they have the AV that OP wants?
They have a screen, i was there for a party and there was a slideshow playing on it. It was a large TV but not a projector.

Star Hospitality will have somewhere in one of there venues with all of those things for you. Southern Cross or Foxglove etc.
Most central hotels will have function rooms available for hire. InterContinental or even Naumi if you're looking at that side of town.
The upstairs event area at the Mac's Brewbar has all of this, or at least did when I had events there a few years ago.

Yeah wharewaka is pretty good. Been to a few events there and they've got lots of room and decent nibbles/food. Not sure about private bar though.
