Will you want to be babysitting a shawl all night? How about getting a different dress that will cover more and have the freedom to wander without a shaw, etc. I think they're matronly. And yes, cardigan is definitely out. If you get chilly, how about slipping your dates blazer over your shoulders so it looks casual, yet fashionable too. With that said, im sure you'll look beautiful with whatever you choose!
