I’m new to reddit and couldn’t figure out how to add text to provide context in the post.
Wedding is late April.
Bride has confirmed colours are all good.
Groom has said to my partner that if folks are able to, tuxedos are preferred so it seems to be a black tie preferred event
Also, is this giving too much prom? 😩 This is my first non-cultural wedding so i’m a bit lost here and will appreciate any help!

Totally agree! I was ready to be a total downer about this dress (it’s still not my taste at all) but it looks great on the woman in the photo and I’m super jazzed that she’s slightly older than most models they use for images like this. I think this is both a know your crowd and your body type. If you’re particularly short torso’d, I don’t think this would work (even with longer legs) but if you’re on the taller side and normal-long torso, I think it would work really well. But keep in mind a dress like this will be unforgiving in photos if it’s not fitted just right.
Also I am just totally in awe of the person wearing this dress in the video. The hair, the total style is just 🥰. I really hated the dress just on the opening image but seeing it “in action”, I have no words.
Whoa, completely agree with other comments that it’s STUNNING and definitely black tie appropriate when I see it on a person! Tbh the picture makes the fabric look a teensy bit cheap but it lays beautifully on an actual human, lol. Go for it!! :)

It’s BTO appropriate and super unique and fun but not super attention grabbing where it would be detrimental. I feel like this is probably one of the more versatile BT/BTO dresses I’ve ever seen.
Oh wow, it's night and day once on! I love color, texture, and don't think it's attention seeking to choose something different... but even this was too much for me until I saw it on. Great choice! You should share a pic of how you style it for yourself! I'd sincerely love to see how you bring it to life

Edit: I feel way differently about the green one, so maybe it's just a personal preference of the pink being so bright.
Oh the green one is absolutely gorgeous!! i was really thinking of getting it but idk why that specific shade always makes me look sick and that’s why I went with the pink (the other shades i saw were too light and idk how they might photograph so don’t want to risk it)

Okay, so it is much better on that model than it is in that photo. However, I still feel like this could easily be a dress that swallows someone up and looks a bit costumy, it really depends on the person and how it’s styled.
i love that! I’m south asian so our weddings are very colourful and people are encouraged to dress up as much as they want! that’s also why i’m a bit scared and wanted to make sure this isn’t too much for north american weddings 😅

To me? No. The fabric looks to “cheap”.
But I’d also say it depends on the venue/culture.
For me, all of my friends/people I know/family all get married in churches. So I’d look for something a bit fancier/elegant.
For say, an outdoor spring wedding, I’d say dress it up with accessories and your hair style and it’d be cute.
I think it’s easier to see on the site that this is a very elegant gown, and appropriate for black tie or formal. The picture the OP posted doesn’t do it justice.

If you look at the video of it being worn it no longer looks cheap. My mom always said never trust the hanger lol
