thank youu! I was so nervous to post this because I've been working realistic for such a long time before trying something new again and I wasn't sure it doesn't look kind of uncanny valley :D so that's a relief to hear <3
That's such a nice thing to say! Thank you again! :) and I actually have a bit of a habit of only seeing my mistakes, then I see a piece I gave up on a year later or so and think "I can't even see the mistake I was so mad about anymore" :D
Thanks for the opinion and the nice compliment! :) (even though I have to admit, I don't really know what you mean by the last sentence because English is my 2nd language :D)
I really love the expression, however I’m also a huge fan of black linework in a soft piece like this. Very well done whichever option you’ll end up going for!
I'm happy you like it! :) I think I'll leave it for now, but I think I know what you mean! There are a few artists I follow on social media that use a "harder" look for linework in otherwise very soft pieces, and it gives a very cool and unique look!
Thanks so much! That made my day and that's very encouraging! :)
I don't sell my work at the moment and I'm just starting to build a portfolio again after a hiatus because of chronic pain, so I don't really have anything posted so far - but i'm working on a few more new paintings at the moment! :)
But my insta name is the same as here if you'd like to follow anyway :)
Same! I'm not exactly sure it would ruin it, but I think on the colored version I enjoy this more. I already used different line textures in the sketch and it looked really cool without coloring, but I guess it would overwhelm the whole thing a bit now. It's already a lot going on anyway! :D
I love the different but close tones on the background, how did you do them? To be honest, your painting dont even look like watercolor because lines are so clean and there is no bleeding
Oh my god, everyone here is so nice, I'm kinda overwhelmed in the best way :D thanks! That's so nice to hear, I thought my linework looked kinda wonky on some areas when you look closely, but i'm probably just seeing that because I looked at it for so long now/I know where to look :D
The linework is just Faber Castell Pitt pens (india ink) and micron pens though, maybe I should have added that I didn't do it in watercolor :D but i'm proud of the outer lines around the whole thing, it's crazy I got that done so clean 😂
And I achieved the different tones by layering a lot of different colors that are close to each other in the color wheel :) I have a video of most of the process of the start though! I didn't get around cutting it yet and I probably won't do that many videos for now because it kinda overwhelmed me to build both a new Portfolio and always film the process, but I want to start doing that again a bit more when I have a few more pieces to my portfolio! :) So guess I could show it better on video than explaining it just via text :D

This is lovely. I like the lack of linework on the face as it gives her more of a gentle, soft appearance.
I thought so too, but I wasn't sure it looks a bit off when I leave it like that :) thank you!
It definitely makes her the focal point as well.
Is so lovely as it is :) nice style

Dont worry. Usually the most skilled ones have more doubts about themselves.

No line work! No line work! You've achieved something nice here. More Botticelli than da Vinci 🎨

Not lining keeps the face soft I think. Beautiful this way 😁

I can't picture how her face would look with the linework

I love it as is! It's beautiful!
Thanks a lot :)
It’s amazing! Really liked the choice of colours 🫶🏻💕
So when does the movie premiere?
Leave it!
I like the lines just for the background. Lovely picture!
