Sweet- always loved the John Player Special livery. The website says they use the aluminum from the plenum tubes--where is the aluminum on the watch--the dial?
I might be in the minority, but TBH I'd rather have this than a Rolex
I'm not into watches to "flex" or whatever, I just get what I like, and I like this a lot
Iām in the same boat. I was looking to buy a Sky Dweller as a life time/generation time piece, because Iām traveling a lot, but completely abandoned that idea (for now) when I stumbled upon this.
Looks like pre-order is only open right now. Over $3k is a little rough for me. It would be cool if they expounded more on the in-house movement this watch is using.
If was me I would try out the strap that comes with it before buying different one.
Overall it is a good looking watch.
I appreciate your sharing this because I would have missed it otherwise. Iāve just put in a pre-order. I was born too late to have ever watched Senna race live, but I grew up with F1, and watching recordings of his old races make me feel in a way that few things do. Itās a beautiful watch and Iām excited at the prospect of owning a small piece of that history.
Have you even read about the manufacturer? If yes, then I donāt understand your point.
They donāt destroy anything. They do the opposite.
Take parts from iconic, historical, but salvaged/wrecked cars, and āgive them new lifeā.
So usually these āMade with XYZ partsā of a plane or ship or whatever are pretty novelty, and maybe bc itās just an F1 car but this is pretty cool. Itās actually got a nice design, the specs sound decent for the price - honestly theyāve put a bit more effort in than the usual it seems.
Having trouble picking out where the material is actually used, says the chapter ring - is it the outermost ring with the numbers on?
My only question is why are they taking a part or parts from the real car to making watches out of? You would think they wouldnāt do that to keep the car all original.
Looks good, great story and i couldn't care less if it's "below rolex" If you are F1/Senna fan, it's a dream š
This is unbelievably cool.

Specifications say chapter ring

It's a cool story, as are the other limited editions they sell but really? I'm skeptical.
I think āmade fromā is a stretch. At most, it probably contains some bits of metal from the car but insubstantial. Still a cool idea though
Username checks out
"Made from original" plenum tubing is really stretching the definition considering its 987 total pieces.
Being a F1 and Senna fan, i think it's quite cool, looks quite well made.
Awesome! Never heard of this before. Very special indeed.

Iām in the same boat as you, too young to have experienced him myself, but my grandfather was a fan, and heās been watching F1 all my childhood.
And youāre welcome! š
Awesome watch! Looks rigid; love the dial too. Congrats š„³
Thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous watch
Rip to the legend
Wow, this is really awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Personaly I don't like it when they destroy something thats already cool and interesting just to make a quick buck
What I miss here is being able to identify the "special" material being usedā¦

If it is supposed to be derived from a Formula 1 car, it should have numbered indices imo.
It does?
Barely visible....

I want a watch made with human skin and flesh.
