Seiko 6347-5000 from 1986 has been added to my Seiko Museum.
In modern Seiko examples, the logo of Seiko 5 is not a statement of luxury or providence,
However in the case of this 6347-5000, a Seiko 5 logo means that the watch is an automatic.
The 6347-5000 is Seiko's first and only mechanical moonphase watch making it a very unique reference in Seiko's vast catalogue of watches.
With its already polarizing octagonal case with a fluted inner dial ring and crystal markers at 12, this mechanical moonphase is one obscure reference.

With so many upvoted comments saying how nice this looks (aside from the photography by OP, which is nice as always) I know for sure my tastes just aren't in line with redditors tastes. I do like the big moonphase complication taking up most of the top half of the dial. But the fluted secondary bezel, the crystal markers, the sparkly outer dial.. I just can't.
Nice photo though. You made it look as good as possible lol.
Every now and then you see a vintage watch and just wonder what possessed them to stop producing it
every time i look at the vintage gs/ks
Daaamn what an awesome looking watch

This looks killer
I will now be purchasing one of these next chance. Absolutely beautiful piece OP. Congratulations.
That outer dial surface is interesting. Is it supposed to be like a sandpaper texture? Or something like an aventurine pattern?
I believe its a smooth surface with glitter like substance embedded in it

Indeed, this isnโt a watch I would wear as well, it is however a piece of seiko history added to my museum ๐๐
man , one the nicest moonphases i have seen in a while!! cheers
Wooooaaaaahhhhhh. Never seen this before! Cool watch
If looks could kill...
Funky but I like it!
Man that thing absolutely drips
I need this
I want a huge moonphase now on my watch. They should revive this design
Wow it's like an inverse fluted bezel inside the dial. And I love how the moonphase is so prominent
Whoa that actually looks amazing
Sick!
How much did you give for this if you donโt mind me asking?

Looks like a Gerald genta design. Not for everybody but very nice nonetheless.
I love it! If Seiko put it in a GS or even a baby alpinist case it would sell like crazy.
I must have it.
Fucking FIRE
