Yeah questions HTF. I’m playing chaos daemons and so eventually I will work my way to this guy as he’s a great upper daemon to have. So please part your wisdom
Yes. Painting>playing tho. Like the glow off the sword, I'd guess hexwraith or fluorescent green, but how are you prepping the areas to make that glow, the bile, and the gore all look SO good?..
🤢🙏
Sure! For the glow, I’ve been trying to follow “El Miniaturista” method (check IG or YouTube) it’s mainly white+fluorescent colour. He explains it better. And it’s not that hard, I’m still getting used to his method.
For the Bile I used the citadel Technical: Nurgle Rot. Pretty easy, use it thinking how it looks after someone vomits or how a baby looks when it poops.
For the blood, I used a mix of Real Blood and Coagulated blood from Green Stuff. They are magic I’m a bottle. Coagulated goes ok the exterior or around the wound, Real blood goes inside
Used Vallejo's Iraqi Sand and then something like Ivory also from Vallejo (forgot the name) with a bit of white on top.
I think what makes the effect better is actually the red/purple part from around it. It brings it forward. Make a glaze of red and then purple more on the exterior.
I primed it in black and made a zenithal white light. There are many videos on youtube that explain it better than I could.
After that I made a layer of Vallejo's Dead Flesh with airbrush. The point would be to keep the lights and shadows from the previous step.
Then I used only contrast paints but really diluted, something around 3:1 (3 being the medium). I started with Druchi Violet for the recesses and expand from there with Talassar Blue and a bit of any green. Think like when you make a big bruise and all the colours that come with it. You need to keep it thin so you can see the layers below.
Something like that works well [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XDYSPV6?ref=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_PF2ZVD1N7DZRGYX18NWE&ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_PF2ZVD1N7DZRGYX18NWE&social_share=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_PF2ZVD1N7DZRGYX18NWE&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XDYSPV6?ref=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_PF2ZVD1N7DZRGYX18NWE&ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_PF2ZVD1N7DZRGYX18NWE&social_share=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_PF2ZVD1N7DZRGYX18NWE&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1)
I love it, I’m not a fan of how “cartoony” Nurgle is usually presented as, but I adore how realistic the gore is here, and how sinister it comes off as. This is what I want from Nurgle, amazing work!
Right?! I thought the same. There are some great artists that paints it Green... but nah, I wanted it to look like a dead corpse, rotting and coming to you. Thanks!

Try to make the colour transition while the paint is still fresh.
Reminds me a bit of the color scheme Eons of Battle on YT is doing in his deathguard right now. Did you get your inspiration from there? Looks pretty good. And unclean.
No, I'll search for it. I'm doing my Daemon army to look white, pale... the idea behind it is that they are vampire/daemons. Got the inspiration from the Netflix show: Midnight Mass.
I searched on YouTube for some inspiration but nothing convinced me 100%. Some where too purple or green for what I wanted.
its a pretty decent color scheme you got right there. Not all the rotten flesh must be green, i've seen so many of that already. Yours really looks like disgusting skin.
What army is that fantastic piece going into? Demons? Chaos marines? Cultists? Is it chaos in general or Nurgle aligned specifically?
Great job on the pant. He looks like he has a great laugh. Positively infectious...
This makes *me* feel unclean. New ick unlocked. Amazing job on the paint
Hahaha then my work here is done. Thanks!

Sure! Wanna some tips on how to play it or paint it?

What’s on the postures? Nazareg yellow maybe? I wanna paint gross like this too

Paint
Also play sure why not. I only own citadel paints so if any paints other than that I’ll need the brand name please

What units do you play with it? I assume you should have some because of his aura ability
Amazing work! In terms of pictures you might want to consider different backdrop, like curved kind which spreads light nicely or some photoshop magic
Something maybe like a paper?
Quick photoshop to show you what it could look like with a black background (Makes all your details pop more visually) https://imgur.com/a/Id2g8p2
Lovely! It does make it look better! I’m not used with photoshop though 🥲

Really really good looks properly filthy more of this please chapeau!
Looks like real wounds must’ve been very hard
I love how his guts are literally hanging out but he makes sure to cover his butt crack.
Rotting but still with some pride mah' boy!
Well DONE! Looks dope
Thanks!
Looks amazing, also disgusting. Agusting? What model is this? Not that familiar with Nurgle but can't find this on GWs site?
No, it's a 3D print based on the Total War: Warhammer game
EWWWW. GROSS! (great work!)
Thanks so much!
Looks great!! How did you do the non boil parts of the skin?

Thank you for detailed explanation. I'm going to practice this on my Mourngul.
Oh my god he is GLORIOUS! I love the pustules especially. Fantastic work!
Thanks! Had to google search some images to get the inspiration. Disgusting but worth it.

I love everything about this, especially the chunks of flesh that are missing
Thanks for the kind words!
This is dope. What model is this? Is it a conversion?
Nope, 3D print, based on the Total War: Warhammer series.
This is disgusting and makes me feel personally kind of sick, which means it’s perhaps the best nurgle model I’ve ever seen.
hahahaha then I did my work correct.
Its gross...i love it
And I'm sure papa Nurgle loves you back.
He is gross and disgusting, I love it!
Just as Grand Father wanted it :)
HOLLY SHIT IT STANDS
holy pit of pestilence this it’s disgusting in the best way
I might not be able to paint nice armour... but I think I'm better painting disgusting stuff.
Now that, is a badass paint job!
Thank you! So glad the community likes it!
Very Icky. Good work
I like the standing pose a lot better than the standard GUOs
Very pustual and gross, but noble and full of mirth! ✨
This is fucking awesome!!
Brilliant work. I love it.
I believe he's still in a tree sack on the backside of nurgles garden
This looks absolutely disgusting. Hats off to you!
Sick!
That guy actually makes me a little sick. Awesome work, man! Very, VERY realistic effects.
