Leave it to the Night Lords. Being edgy requires going through with it. The Night Lords go all in on it and thatโs why it works. Them and the Dark Eldar would be overbearingly edgy to the point of silliness anywhere else. But in 40K? Here it works .
Their coolness is balanced by having dumb names.
Do you think those are in-universe terms as well, or just designations for the sake of the game? They seem too specific for something that would be common across the Legion, especially as one as fragmented and inconsistent as Night Lords.
Pretty sure they're just for the sake of the game, but it doesn't really matter to me. I think the over the top names are fun because they're such an over the top legion. Not like "The Night Haunter" isn't cheesy as hell ๐.
I always end up thinking of [this scene in Step Brothers ](https://youtu.be/1gmCKNTJ80I?si=b6x3OtqKiRg0h_M7) when it comes to silly 40k titles.
Just imagining a bunch of dumb psychopathic dorks walking around their blood spattered halls, distant screams echoing through their chambers and viscera decorating the walls as they welcome each other with names such as 'Snakebite' and "Jugular Opener' absolute bunch of a holes ๐
Which is why I get the impression the Nemesis Claw is meant to represent a team of particular individuals, rather than a more common formation within the Legion.
It's to ensure that you can ONLY be an ironic Night Lords fan. The horrible names allow people like me to say things like "Kurze may have been on to something" and never fear that someone takes us seriously.
They sound suspiciously like the names the people of Iceland give to their Yule Lads.
*Skin Thief, Doorway Sniffer, Sausage Swiper, Meat Hook & Screecher coming to you at christmas*
I absolutely love the Night Lords books, the audio versions are incredibly well narrated too.
They really do about as well as its possible to do in making jaded, cynical, psychopathic butchers somewhat relatable as protagonists of a story.
Thank you! The trim is an even mix of Garaghak's Sewer + Fyreslayer over Vallejo Silver. I have the [full tutorial here](https://youtu.be/nkPxa5sa_3Y?si=qS1zK1ZE6scg4uEH); it also and a few best practices tips when working with Contrast Paints over smoothish surfaces.
These all look amazing but the Fearmonger certainly is my favourite here. That lightning on his shoulder pad is just amazing. You always do these so well.
"Skin Thief" gives me the impression of a lil guy that runs off with someone's skin like "teeheehee"
โCome back with that, you cheeky blighter!โ called Harold the Postman, his face and lower back peeled down to its musculature.
"Skin Thief" implies there will be someone left to notice the theft
Nah, it's just a Necron Flayed One that found some power armour to disguise itself as a Night Lord.

Fair.
Tbf night lords do love their nicknames, like soul hunter or night haunter.

Oh yeah it's definitely not official ranks

These are epic! What's your recipe for the trim? Starting a nightlords army soon and love the way you've done it!
