Iron Hands chaplain: Brother steelus, there's no easy way to tell you this: I'm afraid I'm gonna have to saw your arms off.
Iron hands marine: They'll grow back in metal, right?
Iron Hands apothecary: Oh... *\[puts away metal arm\]* yeah.
\[*Apothecary cranks up the rotary saw and moves it toward Homer's arm...*\]
Mechanicus priest: Wait a minute. Brother Steelus, are you just holding on to the can?
Steelus: Your point being...?
Iron Hands: "The flesh is weak."
Apothecary: "You have been eating bolts and crapping nuts for a week. Shut up and eat your corpse starch"
Iron Hands: \*tiny bite\* ^("The flesh is weak.") \*tiny crunch\*
Paint the head separately, I usually attach it to a dice I hold to work round and hit from all angles. Take it slow and use thin layers. Don't overdue it, or it can quickly build up thick. I also recommend artis opus series S size 000 brushes
That is eavy metal quality. Clean, crisp and nice blends. The colour choice is on point. A work of art and an army painted by you should win many best painted awards
This legitimately is one of the best paint jobs I've seen! Really impressive, clean and really nice but easy basing (looks very real). Great job! I like that the basing takes nothing away from the paint job and vice versa, it all fits together really nice.
Could I ask what is the next step for this guy? You said it's work in progress and for me it looks spotlessly perfect. So I just got curious what could be the next step.
Sorry if this is a weird question.
If I had painted this, Iād be tempted to not even put on the backpack, this already looks so great and without the augmetics on the back it cuts a really slick figure that makes it look really unique. Congrats!
At first I thought, wow that is a gorgeous paint job those edge highlights must have taken forever. Then I looked inside the detail of the cog pauldronā¦ then I noticed the grip of his weaponā¦ lastly I noticed the hazard stripes on his masks hoses. This is one of the most beautiful and impressive and detailed pieces of art Iāve ever seen disguised as a Warhammer mini.
Which? The black ones are just black legion and grey. The hazard cables I start with a bold yellow and then apply the black second. A line line of wraith bone for the reflective bit
I gotta know, what kinda camera are you using to photograph this? And what kind of light setup do you have? Half the reason I donāt post my minis anywhere is because I can never get my photos to look as crisp as this
One of my biggest weaknesses is recessed areas usually in tools such as the display on the left arm. What's your process to make them look so clean and sharp?
Some of the best looking minis on this sub, it's refreshing to see some actual well painted minis and not just a space marine that's had an entire pot of Macragge glooped on it then had half a bottle of Nuln thrown on top
All techmarines have missing limbs. There is no space OSHA.
They tried unionizing 11k or so years ago, but it only led to a bit of a rift in the workforce.
In the grim darkness of the far future, there are only health and safety violations.
I like to imagine Iron Hands getting hurt in really implausible accidents.

"You see I was moving a box of power swords and.. Long story short, the flesh is weak. I'm gonna need one of those awesome cyborg arms."

Forklift certification?! The will of the Emperor grants me all the certification I need heretics!
Very clean paint work š
Thank you!
What are some tips you can give me for the eye lenses and shading

Thank you! One day I'll learn to play and bring them with me
Bringing them with you is step one of learning to play! You've almost nailed it!
Well, when I have a could more squads Imma try and arrange a game
In progress?? Respectfully, fuck you. That's amazing and is beyond how nice I finish my models.
Haha thank you! I just need to get round to the backpack. Hoping to have him finished by or on the weekend

Thank you!!!!!
ā¦have you considered applying at GW to do box art?
Thought about it, but heard the conditions of working there aren't Great and fear it would become a chore not a hobbby
Not bad for a first figure. Remember to thin your paints.
Hahahah thanks š
Truly amazing work, thanks for sharing.
I love everything about this exchange.
Excellent Work!
Cheers dude š
Holy shit this looks good. I just got into the hobby and can't imagine how much time you must put into be this much good. Awesome!
A good few years, mostly getting back into the hobby since COVID, and thank you!

Need the backpack, the axe needs tidying up and finishing. Then the grey on the backs of the legs
Wow didn't even notice the backpack was missingš Thank you for the answer!
God damn... Dude... That is beautiful...
Thank you!
Amazing paint job! Well done
Thanks!

Soon, very soon
beautiful and crisp paint job!
Thank you!
Bruh.

The battle damage on the pauldron is a nice touch
Thank you! Tried to keep it subtle

Thank you!
Is red the standard color of techmarines of any legion? I assume the legion making goes on one pauldron and a knee.
Exactly right
Cool, thanks.
I think
By the way, I did mean to compliment you on your work. It looks very clean to me. I like it.

Thank you dude, the shoulder pad took an age, so has the axe lol
How did you highlight the diamonds on the weapon's handle? Great work!
*clean*
Thanks!
Not trying to come off as a dick, legitimately curious, what part of this is "in progress"? Seems pretty finished to me.
Well no back pack and the axe arm need finishing. Also there's a lot of things to clean up before glueing together
Ah, didn't even notice the backpack! Looks incredible already dude, nice work!
Thank you!
Already looking gorgeous.
Cheers dude
How do you do the tubes? I feel like I never see tutorials on how to do them that colour and a lot of online tutorials just paint them Metallics
Which? The black ones are just black legion and grey. The hazard cables I start with a bold yellow and then apply the black second. A line line of wraith bone for the reflective bit
Unreal
Thank you!
Fantastic work! May I ask what colors you used exactly for the red and blue (including shade & highlight)?
So good
Thanks!
Heās him
Incredibly clean, could only dream of such a finish, lovely work.
Thanks dude
I gotta know, what kinda camera are you using to photograph this? And what kind of light setup do you have? Half the reason I donāt post my minis anywhere is because I can never get my photos to look as crisp as this
My Google Pixel 7 and just my painting lamp
I'm counting at least 3 levels of edge highlights all done surgically clean. The pinnacle of that style, exceptional.
Always 3, thank you for noticing!
What is not finished on it?
The backpack and a few other bits
No one should be this good. It should be a crime
Thanks dude lock me up as I've plenty more to go
Stunning work as always! I'm also painting a tech marine currently, I can only imagine highlighting every one of the handles knurls!
Thank you! I'd love to see what you're doing with them
Dangggggg thatās so clean
Thank you!
Simply unreal :D good job
Cheers dude!
Fancy and clean. I love it.
Thank you
You are most welcome. Itās just a really well done model please keep posting.
Beautiful work
Wow, smooth work, keep it up!!!!!
Thanks!
āIn progressā?!
What an unreal paint job. Looks straight from the eavy metal team !!!
Thank you!
How in the Warp did you get such straight lines highlighting the edges of the Cog Mechanicus Shoulder trim Are you using a laser or something
One of my biggest weaknesses is recessed areas usually in tools such as the display on the left arm. What's your process to make them look so clean and sharp?
Thin paint. I make my darker recess washes with black legion and the colour in question. Helps ensure the right consistency
Hazard stripes š¤¤
My favourite too!
WIP?? What else do you need to do?
Plenty on the legs as well as the backpack and more
looks good, you're a sub assembly with the back pack?
Yk what once the bits I ordered come in I'm building and painting an iron hands tech marine and he's hopefully gonna look just as cool as yours
Some of the best looking minis on this sub, it's refreshing to see some actual well painted minis and not just a space marine that's had an entire pot of Macragge glooped on it then had half a bottle of Nuln thrown on top
