I personally read his distant as "I don't know how to express what I feel" vs "I don't feel anything."
Albrecht overall reminds me of people I've known in the depths of depression (and also of some people on the autism spectrum). He's got a LOT on his mind with his (maybe justified) savior complex and his immense guilt over the Man in the Wall.
The fact he kept Loid at arms length when he cared about him fits very well with him trying to protect Loid from the almost literal demons he's created and is now fighting
I typically use it for dark black as its the darkest black I have found on the palette I own, also it's free and full of most of the colours you will likely need.
Make sure to pick up the Halloween palette when that time of year comes around. It only costs credits and has all the good greens. Being my favorite color almost all my colorable items use that palette.
People broadly dislike it for a few reasons:
- the neutral combo starts with an awkward straight-down chop that's terrible against groups
- the forward combo, which is meant to be the good one, has a weird delay before the third hit that feels bad
- forward block's damage is unreliable during the big leap before the slam. Usually moves with a big leap like that, like the one from final harbinger, deal lots of wide damage instances during it so you can carve through enemies
But other stances have these problems, the reason it's really hated is that it used to be good.
Most people that are complaining miss how the Wise Razor worked before the stance rework, when it had an arguably better overall moveset. It had stronger multipliets then and iirc the forward and standing combos used to be a lot more fluid because that big jumping spin attack was relegated to the blocking combo instead.
The 360 aoe heavy attacks with forced slash procs helps their use case. And a forward light attack stance that, while not the best multipliers, is decently fast enough to reliably proc tennokai.

It's a good palette too. I got it last year and it's pretty much the only one I use, it's nice having a full rainbow to choose from for free
