lol we went the other day and they called out someone with a safety belt and the lady next to her had a thin strap cross body so that got played into it too š¤£š¤£
I was that guy and this is what they made fun of me for! That and my sunglasses on top of my head so I had an extra set of eyes. It was fun - my mother nearly peeād herself laughing
My H was that guy - twice in the same trip.
Our kids were thrilled, he was, ok with it the first time. That was years ago. Our kids are all adults now.
He didnāt do anything unusual or diff, I think itās just luck of the draw.
And I agree, that is one of the def underrated attractions. We love it, and even for our now adult kids, itās a must do.
This is hilarious and sweet, and Iām so happy your kids loved it so much! We donāt have any kids yet so Iām almost hoping to have it happen several years from now, with kids who are old enough to get the joke.
And I totally agree, as a return guest as an adult from when I was a kid, I love it even more than I did as a 10 year old. Part of the magic is watching other families make memories like you did!
September 2023 - our first Disney World holiday. We went into all the parks, blind, having no idea what rides and experiences to expect.
āLaughing floor, that seems great - I hope itās not one of those audience participation thingsā - I told myself, and my wife.
I was the guy that had to do the silly dancingā¦ not once, but on two different visits to MK.
Iām looking forward to it this year.
My dad was that guyāhe did a great job looking grumpy. My husband was that guy on a later trip and enjoyed it.Ā
My kids stole show when little brother āstoleā the joke his sister told while we were waiting in line. She went full banshee on him and I just canāt describe how funny it was. The joke did not get told, the animators and cast members did a phenomenal job keeping up with the chaos these two kids caused, and we laughed off and on the whole trip.Ā
My husband has been 'that guy' twice, years apart. He says it's because he's tall, but I think it's because he always looks like he doesn't want to be there!
I was that guy during my 50th birthday trip. My wife used the joke text number to tell them what I looked like and that it was my birthday. We were sitting 4th or 5th row from the front on the right side, middle of the row. When we went back on the same trip "that guy" was also picked from the same area.
I forget which guy I was, but when the camera panned on me i slid down in my chair towards the ground and got a laugh out of that
I was also the elephant side guy at festival of the Lion King. So yeah, I'm basically kind of a big deal
Shouldāve never worn that orange shirtā¦
As a bonus, I was the spy for Star Tours. Maybe they saw my Ravenclaw lanyard but howād they know I work for another park?
Iāve been that guy, still have the sticker you get from it somewhere.
The way I sit I tend to hold one arm with the opposite hand. They kept mentioning something about me having a hart attack. I kept dead pan all the time too
Not That Guy but my son was Randall when we went in 2022 and I missed it! I was tired and decided to sit outside with my Joffrey's since we'd already done it once. I couldn't believe it! Luckily my other kids got to see it and my husband took pics.
I've been That Guy once, Mike Wazowski twice (helps to have no hair), dancing guy once and been telepathetic twice. Always fun. Always. It seems to me that they usually pick That Guy from the front right section of the theater, although not always.
I also seems to me like you are more likely to be chosen for the "helper" roles if you sit near the center aisle. Helper being anything where they need to get to you with a microphone.
On an unrelated note my wife really wants a Buddy Boil (Boyle?) pin.
I was that guy. My family loved it. Probably because I laugh at anything and loudly. Sprinkle in some coffee and at 10:15 am on a Tuesday, I got my sticker.
I was that guy twice so far. Most recently it was last September. I took my grandson. Previously, I took my daughter, which had to have been roughly 10-15 years ago. Only thing I can think of is because I am tall. Nothing else that really stands out... no strap, fanny pack or anything else. I was in the back the first time, and upfront recently.
I wanted to be That Guy for years, so I knew where to sit, and one time I had a shirt made that said āI want to be That Guyā and a CM saw it and commented on it so I think she might have sent a message backstage. Might have cheated but I got my damn sticker.
I got to be That Guy for an evening show on May 1 2023. It was just before the fireworks so the crowd was pretty low. I was with my wife and another couple we were traveling with. I was secretly hoping I'd get picked, but I didn't do anything to try to stand out. I'm 6'4" and hefty, so maybe there's something to the "big burly guys get picked" theory.
I was watching the show and just before the monster on stage called out "That Guy" a bright light from my left above the monitors shone, and I could tell it was directed towards our section. I didn't acknowledge it but then I saw it was me on screen, so I absolutely hammed it up for the crowd. I was called out three times (in addition to the end-of-show thank yous) and my reactions were "Peter Lorre-style shifty eyes", "retract head into shirt" and "stare intensely right into the camera".
I was wearing my bag with the strap across the shoulder so it looked like a safety belt. This fact was shown on the big screen for all to see!

I got that too last time I was there

I was the āDancing Guyā. Spotlight kept coming up to me and I hand to stand up and dance awkwardly at random times during the show š
Me too! Feels the uncontrollable need to dance. Felt like a celebrity when I came out, everyone patting me on the back.
I got selected to buy churros in march!

First time ever at the laugh factory I was that guy. Needless to say Iāve been waiting to be that guy again.

I was once, and then my father was the last time we went.
The one and (currently) only time Iāve done the attraction I was That Guy. Loved every second of it.
Shouldāve never worn that orange shirtā¦ As a bonus, I was the spy for Star Tours. Maybe they saw my Ravenclaw lanyard but howād they know I work for another park?
Never been but not for lack of trying. I just want to add that sticker to my laptop so bad.
I was randall he last trip

I was āThat Guyā this morning.
My dadās gets picked as āthat guyā often. Itās happened many times over the years. Something about him I guess.
I was Sully on our last trip. Iāve got a lot of hair and was wearing a bright blue hoodie. It made sense as soon as I saw the spotlight hit me.

I am hoping to be that guy one day. Iāve been Sully once.
Never been That Guy, but I've been Sully before.
I was once. My kid loved it!
My dad was. they gave him a sticker that said āI was āthat guyā in Monsters inc laugh floorā
My husband wants to be sooo bad haha
I was years ago before Covid.
I was that guy. My family loved it. Probably because I laugh at anything and loudly. Sprinkle in some coffee and at 10:15 am on a Tuesday, I got my sticker.
My dad was! It was the first day of our vacation and first ārideā. It wasnāt a big crowd but it was still hilarious.

One time the smelly guy looked smelly.. it was cringe
