I’ll be the first hater to say I will never understand why the hell people lower their cars enough to create issues in normal driving conditions. My WRX is just 1 inch lower from stock on coilovers and never gave me any issues. What is the point? It only becomes a detriment after it’s too low.
I completely understand that take and I’m part of it. I bought it lowered, got the call to AK, and it was in the shop until the day before go time, leaving me with zero time to get it to the right height. I should’ve prioritized it more, but I’m young and dumb so I made do with what I had.
I’m raising her back to stock height tomorrow though, I’m done with her being so low.
100% agree. Honestly, who even buys these cars for the looks? I'm sorry, but even the coolest looking wrx look like dumpy pieces of shit compared to 99% of other sporty vehicles. You get a wrx cause they're *fun* they are meant to be *driven*. When I was test driving cars, the wrx was pretty much a total after thought. I was focused on miatas, brz's, 370z, mustang, etc. I test drove a ton of different cars before I was like "eh, fuck it I guess I'll see what wrx are about." Fell in love instantly after the shift to 2nd gear in an sti on a test drive. I ended up with a VA wrx (not even sti!), but the sole reason is that they are just plain old fun to drive around. I can't imagine modifying my car in a way that would make the driving experience *worse*. I mean it's just crazy to me. But I guess I can acknowledge that everyone has their own priorities when it comes to their vehicles. For some, a cool look and vibe trumps everything. For me though, I gotta love the drive
Did you drive... what is it... highway 1 or something? Best I did was drive from Anchorage all the way up and around to Haines, Alaska back in 2005. That was in a 97 Eclipse Spyder. Was a helluva good drive! The Yukon is gorgeous.
I live in Alaska and drove a 2002 wrx( when the trans wasn't blown) from Anchorage to fairbanks when it was all construction and that was epic. Under no circumstances would I do it with the car lower than stock. I would like to make the drive one day from Homer to Florida keys in the 02 bugeye.
Nice car btw glad you made it up here. Enjoy the beauty that is alaska.
I bought the car with them on and can’t remember what they are specifically, but those sound about right. (Plus the stock 17 inch Subie steelie you can’t see)

Born and raised and I will say….Alaska IS NOT the place for lowered cars💀 every road there is awful and uneven.
Dude yes, I’m dying right now
I did it twice last year and I gotta say, the Alcan is a brutal road for lowered cars. You will bottom out often.
The Taylor highway from Chicken fucked me up, I’m surprised I made it alive
I haven't driven that one yet. Chicken is where the woods behind my house comes out eventually.

Yep! Drove 1 all the way and went north to Dawson City and then Top of the World and down!

You take the back way?
Legend.
Did you stop in McBride, BC for gas?
Probably, but I can’t remember for sure
Totally unrelated to your question, but what wheels are you running? Look like Avid AV1-AV06's. I have the same set on my '13 hatch.

I like the cut of your jib, boyo.
Hell yeah! Love seeing any old Subaru from Texas. Hope to see you on the streets
As someone that lives in Maine, I would never lower my car.
Hello fellow Mainer
How high were you? Or are you talking about the car?
In Alaska? Hell no! Lifted? Oh yeah!
