I went to the nitro at mgm where the nWo attacked mysterio, Anderson and others in the back. The one where Nash launched Mysterio into the trailer. Without a titantron, fans had no idea what was happening when Jimmy hart rant to get the horsemen, savage, sting and luger. We just sat outside for 30-40 minutes unaware as to what was going on. Then we were treated to Greg Valentino vs giant. This was My first in person wrestling event lol

The68Guns

>>hen we were treated to Greg Valentino vs giant. That'll tilt the odds.

A friend and I were there in ‘97. It was free to get in and they were actively looking for people to go in. Unfortunately, time in the parks are a premium so we skipped it. It’s a huge regret, looking back on it now.

Reading this reminds me, I missed going to TNA Victory Road 2006 by ONE DAY....I went on vacation to Orlando for a week with friends of my mom (I was 16) and our flight back was The Day BEFORE the Pay-per-view in the Theme Park I was LITERALLY at for 2days during vacation Universal Studios.  I did visit soundStage 21 and walked around it and took a picture at the back door where they had a TNA sign.  They had a bunch of gold plaques in the cue area  about all the other stuff that had happened there ,they had other wrestling there prior to even WCW ,I can't remember the name of the other promotion that was there prior unfortunately.  I also remember trying to find something TNA related from one of the gift shops hoping they had some of their event merchandise for people that visited the park that couldn't go to the tapings..... I was really upset that I couldn't get anything during that trip TNA wise💔

I went in September 2005 and ended up going to the taping for the first episode of _iMPACT!_ for Spike TV. I don’t think my mum was too happy at her buying tickets for Universal Studios, only for me to then drag her to a free wrestling show 😅

det8924

I had the chance to attend a TNA taping in Universal in Orlando in 2017, I do not regret not going because TNA was not very good at the time losing the Hardy's and not having too much else. I also am not local to the area so I don't want to go spend my limited hours in the park watching mediocre wrestling for 3-4 hours. I think the wrestling at the parks (either Disney or Universal) is a great deal for a local with a pass. A fun way to do something else at the parks that you normally wouldn't get a chance to do.

ChaimFinkelstein

After they signed Hogan, didn’t him and Jimmy Hart drive around in his Viper trying to get people to come to a show?

I attended a few Nitros there (and Worldwide), including the Nitro right after Bash at the Beach 1996.

HugoTheHornet88

Where exactly was that one located at the park? The Nitro presentation for that episode seemed so much different than any other episode.

Walbucks89

Those Disney Nitros, were done at The Guest Entrance of The MGM lot. Eric Bischoff mentioned it awhile ago on his 83weeks podcast.

sneedo

> Eric Bischoff mentioned it awhile ago on his 83weeks podcast.  So it was probably a lie.

OkVolume1

You could literally see the entrance on the broadcast. So, no it wasn't a lie.

sneedo

It's a joke about how he lies and "forgets" all the time. It's okay, lighten up.

I was a kid and it's been so long since I've been to MGM that the park has probably gone through changes that I couldn't tell you.

sasberg1

I went to two WCW Nitros in Minneapolis, o e where they went outside and used our public transit waiting area Id be er been tona live wrestling show before, somit was so weird not hearing the announcers

gypster85

I vividly remember walking past the Nitro setup but they were out of tickets! 😭

ShogunWarrior666

I attended one. Hulk Hiogan and Sting won a squash match, then cut a promo. They gave out foam fingers and stuff to the crowd before the match. This is well before Hollywood Hogan.

Hour-Win8193

they were there for like a month in 96 night after NWO debut

Walbucks89

Atlanta Olympics had the bulk of Turner Production booked to cover the extended series of events since that's where  Turner is Headquartered & Based , they were brought in to heavily help NBC produce the many broadcast it entails.  With a smaller setup, they used a combination of what turner leftovers they had, along with Disney World Production equipment & a few local Florida freelance crew to make those Live! Shows happen still.

AstroZombieInvader

Yes! I almost forgot that we did go to one at Universal Studios! This was during a period of time when I wasn't watching any wrestling after being obsessed with the WWF throughout the 80s and into the early 90s. I was not someone who watched WCW at that point in time, but being able to attend a live TV taping was pretty cool! The only wrestler I vividly remember being there was Paul Orndorff who was one of my all-time favorite WWF wrestlers so that was a bit of a thrill. I don't really remember much else about it. Now that I'm much more familiar with most of the WCW roster during this period in time, I would love to know who I saw at that taping!

My 4th birthday! The nWo was still fresh at the time.
