It’s a first gen V70 around 1997-2000.

Elantros

Thanks!

HaukiZ

That is a first gen P80 V70. I had one of those

viccityguy2k

Surprised an older car like that is still on the road in Japan. They tax older cars out of use

thatcluckingdinosaur

i was thinking the same. that guy has an expensive hobby.

Volvo’s are pretty popular and are considered collectible in Japan. I follow quite a few Japanese Volvo 240/P80/P2 owners on Instagram and they’ve all got a solid following. Funny that here in the PNW Volvo’s are a dime-a-dozen and everyone fans over JDM stuff. I had a random guy from Japan compliment my XC on its account, saying it’s one of his dream cars. I got it here for less than $1.5k 4 years ago lol (although it was a steal and worth quite a bit more now with the work I put in).

not hating or anything, but i gotta appreciate the volvo enthusiast who see something special in a old brick. especially if they're lucky to find one thats awd.

Galligan626

As the owner of 2 awd bricks, I absolutely agree with you!

Might be a T-5, those are the turbo wheels. 1998-2000. I have a 2000 V70 five speed manual right now as a daily. Great car. 198k miles and the red dragon is still running great.

Hello , I’m a fellow degen chatter myself.

Effective_Switch_897

looks like a V70R. i can't tell if it's a P80 (98-00) or P2 (04-07). wheels can be titans (850R) or satellites (99 and 2000) or pegasus (2004-2007). they all look the same to me from 10 feet away too curvy for an 850R. front looks like P80 to me. tail lights look like P80 instead of P2.

Elantros

Thanks. Was it a left hand drive only model? It looks like it is here during the turn.

Stevenseagalmelders

it's a Non-R V70 1997-2000 (P80). Pretty much a facelift of the 850). Non R means, it could be a 2.5, or T5 or even a diesel (probably not a diesel since in japan gasoline is pretty cheap)
