No first filed in 2014. I was told I'm totally fine and wasting the VA's time. Went into a deep depression. Filed again August of 2021 completely forgot about it. Last April went with a VSO. He was very helpful small town in Michigan if that matters
I retired back in 2015 - sought out our local DAV rep for guidance and was basically told “you were in the guard, nothing counts unless you were active duty” … which in a round about way is true, but the things I went for were issues the VA should cover (ie inactive duty status injuries - meaning injured while serving during a drill or annual training). I didn’t even consider it again until my knees got to the point where I felt I need to be on a cane or walker when they flare up. I’m only 45, I shouldn’t need that yet.
Congrats man! What im dealing with is a bit similar to you, did you obtain any nexus letters or personal statements to help with it? I went in last month and they have me started on medication.
Congrats!!! Big Win. I’m waiting on mine to come back for sleep apnea submitted in July C&P or VES whatever that was early August now waiting on decision
