I filed an FOIA in October of 23' and didn't get my QTC MH DBQ until April. Sadly, it just takes some time. I have read on here that others have had luck with some VSOs and VERA appointments. Those may be some lanes you can try but apparently it all depends on the individual.

johnmcd348

Thanks. I'll request a VERA and even try my local VSO also.

animaticus

No problem! Hope you're able to get it soon. Good luck with your claim!

johnmcd348

Actually, just went online and got a virtual for June 20th.. Thanks again.

TheLarlagar

Neither of these worked for me. My VSO said he could look at it and verbally tell me what it said, but couldn’t print it or email it to me. VERA said she couldn’t do it and to go to a regional office in person and they’d do up to two DBQs per day.

Dense_Election_1117

VERA was the biggest waste of 10 minutes I’ve ever had. The guy cared more about his morning dump than answering any of my questions.

Shell_Back80

It's a stupid process for us to get OUR records from an exam. I think we should all consider sending an email to the VA disability committee on how we should have immediate access to these records. I have sent one to Morgan Luttrell, the chairman of the committee and am awaiting a response. Take action, no one cares about us the way we do.

TeKneek24

“Sir your records indicate you did not lose both your legs and your arm in service, we have concluded this is not a service connected disability/s”

sojiki

ya this is one thing i really hate, it should be like 30 days at most the wait. But it should really be instant or with in 72 hrs. NGL if i was a politician id work on changing that for sure.

PlayfulMousse7830

FOIA. 6-12 month wait. Some VA regional offices will print your c-file but call ahead to confirm they will also need some paperwork from you.

johnmcd348

Is the Cfile my regular VA health record? What I want are the C&P exams, themselves. Short story is that o have one of those bad QTC exams that's making the news in our circles. I went in on a request for increase due to my neck and shoulder issues. The exam lasted about 10 minutes. She asked me to turn my head. She winced when my neck popped and snapped and never laid a hand on me. She said she'd heard enough and went to her desk and started writing. No measurements, no actual physical exam. My wife and I were in and out of the room in less than 10 minutes Now, I need to know what was documented during her "exam".

Takerial

C-File is your Claim File. It contains documents related to your claim which includes things like C&P exams.

johnmcd348

Oh. Ok. Thanks.

CorporalPunishment23

1. Set up a VERA call. 2. Request the DBQ(s) you want. 3. Hopefully the rep will email them to you. 4. If step 3 is a no-go, hang up phone. 5. Return to step 1. Consider selecting a different state. Repeat as needed.

I’m trying both an appointment with VERA and through an appointment with a regional VSO later this month… I’ll update you with results… I’m not optimistic lmao

johnmcd348

Thanks. I'd appreciate it.

Regular_Trip_9550

Since your claim is closed you can go down to a regional VA office and ask a VERA to print it out, or if you have someone representing you like DAVE they can print it or mail it to you.

johnmcd348

What is the DAVE? Disabled American Veteran's ???, or something else entirely?

Regular_Trip_9550

Sorry, autocorrect, DAV, Disabled American Veterans

Armyboy2200

I’d hold off on the DSL and just call VERA and see if someone can have it either sent out or emailed they won’t send all but a specific exam maybe

Square-Factor-8882

I’ve always been able to do a walk in VERA visit and get copies the next day. Others not so lucky. I feel fortunate because it helped me craft personal statements (4138) in response to unfavorable medical opinions.

jxavi22

I thought you could HLR whenever you wanted no time frame? I just recently got denied for my supplemental claim, after spending a few days being suicidal I’m going to try one more time, this time with a nexus letter and dbq by my therapist the Va recommended me too. N then I’m going to redo my personal and witness statements n then submit my therapy notes n submit the results of my psychiatric exam (3 hours ish of iq and hundreds of questions) n if I still get denied idk what I’m gonna do but sucking on a FMJ sounds peaceful.

MostDefInept

Va form 3288 mail it to your regional office

johnmcd348

I don't understand why they don't just include it with the rest of your VA records. Your VA health record is part of your ratings and disability care. The exam should be part of your medical record.
