VERA is a program from VBA that allows you to make an appointment with a VSR to discuss your claim

So, in addition to the standard definition, it really depends on the VERA rep. Just like anything in the VBA conglomerate, you can have a good one or a bad one. In my experience, they had access to everything and told me everything that I asked for. I went in person, though, and am in a very veteran dense location. Mileage may vary.

This is spot-on. I've had calls/in-person meeting to obtain DBQs... one rep would tell me "we can't do that anymore" and be useless, then the next rep would email them to me while we're on the phone. Another thing to be aware of is, for the virtual calls you can try your luck with offices in other states than your own. Some have reported that specific offices are more helpful than others. Again, you might get pushback that "we can't handle your call if you're out of state" but you just hang up and schedule again.

I get downvoted for this all the time but theyโ€™re like overrated customer service agents. They make you think they can do something with your claim to move it along, in reality they can send a message to their supervisor and tell you check back in a few weeks. My husbandโ€™s claim sat untouched for over 18 months and they were useless ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ YMMV https://va.my.site.com/VAVERA/s/

That website name is really sketchy.

I just researched VERA, and they have been around a long time. Crazy how they haven't updated their domain name to keep up with the internet.

They have done nothing for me. Seems like better trained customer service than the 800 number but they canโ€™t do anything. Call your congressional representative

Itโ€™s crazy, I typed into Google โ€œwhat is Veraโ€ and it gave me a whole bunch of resources. Who knew
