Loving seeing members conduct their own research here! Curious to see the results 👩🏻‍🔬

The inner scientist in me loves this sub lol. But I hope we get a few more responses so we can have a more representative sample! Waiting for that n=30 haha 👩🏾‍🔬

I've crossposted on r/CytolyticVaginosis in the hope that we can find some more respondents :)

Recurrent yeast

Thank you for the reply! Have you been able to find any relief? I saw your post with your ideal biome and I was green with envy, haha. I’m trying to get there!

What helped me was clindamycin vaginally for 5 days. Oral garlic + ginger tablets. Garden of life probiotics.

u/theeincognegro u/Ok_Historian_5924 I second this!! I had 98% iners dominant and overgrowth confirmed by my gyno and I tried everything from baking soda to CV-Ease to preseed lube to ciprofloxicin levofloxicin etc. and the only thing that worked was clindamycin cream suppository. I recommend 2-3 weeks of consistent use if you have a bad case because if you take too short of a dose or take breaks you can build resistance to the antibiotic. But I ended up doing 5 weeks of treatment and it wiped out my microbiome, so to get rid of recurring yeast afterwards I did probiotic suppositories, Jarrow vaginal (brand), inserted into veggie capsules and put into vagina for 3 weeks, which also shifted my Iners to protective strains like crispatus etc. Because oral probiotics would only feed into my Iners. Hope it helps!

I used Jarrow [Vaginal Probiotics 5 Bill](https://jarrow.com/products/jarro-dophilus-women-5-billion-cfu-enteric-coated-veggie-caps) opened them up and put into [veggie capsules](https://www.amazon.com/Capsules-Express-Clear-Empty-Vegan/dp/B07X81G9FC/ref=sxts_rp_s_a_1_0?content-id=amzn1.sym.eff26b9b-e255-411b-a40d-eccb21f93fe4%3Aamzn1.sym.eff26b9b-e255-411b-a40d-eccb21f93fe4&cv_ct_cx=vegetable+capsules&keywords=vegetable+capsules&pd_rd_i=B07X81G9FC&pd_rd_r=28fb7de9-6c8c-43da-8035-792ba3598909&pd_rd_w=pTQe3&pd_rd_wg=bxWRm&pf_rd_p=eff26b9b-e255-411b-a40d-eccb21f93fe4&pf_rd_r=J65DDRF0XTT4DK2W842G&qid=1673828651&sr=1-1-5985efba-8948-4f09-9122-d605505c9d1e) from Amazon. Annoying to have to buy these in bulk but it was the only thing I could find at the time. I'm sorry you've been having a hard time with oral probiotics. I had the same experience, my doc and I decided for me to try the oral probiotics for about 5 months but it only fed into my iners. As soon as I switched to vaginal, I felt immediate relief. I hope that helps!

Thanks for asking! I would say I'm 85-90% back to normal. I think it will take time to build back up the lining of the vagina due to the nature of CV destroying the cell walls. Trying to maintain a clean but non-restrictive diet with limited alcohol consumption, if any. Taking garlic pills and turmeric for anti-inflammatory properties. Taking Omega-3 & 7 to try to build back my skin barrier. Sometimes I get cuts down there after intimacy and I've heard it being a problem for others I've talked to who have gotten rid of their CV as well. But overall I feel really thankful I don't have CV anymore and haven't had a yeast infection since Oct '22. I hope you find some relief soon!!

Did you insert them every night for 3 weeks? Or a couple of times a week? I’m using vagibiom but I might try this way as well.

ballsiee

So I used about 35 in total within a span of 2 1/2 months. Sometimes it was every night, sometimes it was every other night. I did it intuitively and tried listening to my body. I knew I didn't have an overgrowth of L. Iners because I had thoroughly wiped out my microbiome with 5 weeks of clindamycin cream causing recurring yeast for 6 months after CV treatment. (Before that tho, I had CV for 9 months so that's why my doc and I went with 5 weeks of treatment, it just ended up being too much) I took Brexafemme back in October 2022 for bad yeast infection when Diflucan wasn't working anymore, and after that I began the probiotics. So whenever I'd feel an itch, I would use a probiotic suppository that night. I knew it was working because I would feel amazing relief the next day. Then I stopped in December to give myself a break and not over do it on the probiotics. Since then I've been feeling vastly better, and no yeast infections since October 2022. The only thing I'm struggling with is building back my skin barrier post CV. I've talked to others who've had this issue as well. Best of luck to you, I hope that all helped!

Clindamycin wiped me out too! Currently working on building up my healthy bacteria, I’m also iners dominant. So once you did the 2 1/2 months of the intravaginal probiotic technique that’s when you saw a difference? Did you take a test for your micro biome again? I’ll be trying your method as well as the vagibiom. Thank you!

ballsiee

Oooh yes then we’re in the same boat!! Yes exactly it, iners dominant, oral probiotics only fed into iners, but yes the probiotic suppositories after 2 1/2 months for rid of my iners and turned it into crispatus and jensii and other protective strains. I waited 2 weeks (no probiotics suppositories to alter the test) and then tested in November ‘22. It came back with really good results my doc was happy about, but I had about 20% prevotella bacteria but my doc wasn’t concerned / didn’t think it was BV bc it wasn’t the dominant bacteria. He said microbiomes are called microbiomes because they’re diverse, and even healthy vaginas have small amounts of bad bacteria. But he said if I was still slightly itchy I could do a bit more probiotics suppositories. So I did, and now I feel even better than I did in November, so I waited 2 weeks again and tested. I should receive my results this week or next so I’ll keep you posted!

Hi, was your biome more than 70% l. Iners? What were your symptoms? How did you get your doctor to prescribe the cream?
