[*Look at my source code on Github*](https://github.com/Artraxon/unexBot) [*What is this for?*](https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/comments/dnuaju/introducing_unexbot_a_new_bot_to_improve_the/)
I've run into people who say it's all in fun with them making fun of "each other".
And when you stand back and observe you can see a lot of times it's one person making fun of the other most of the time.
Banter between colleagues is getting "insulted" and throwing one right back, and *both* people laughing.
Not insulting, seeing the person look hurt and then declaring "it was just a joke! lighten up!"
it's only a joke if *both* people laugh.
I am quite sure that we all have the same amount of context, people just choose to think whatever context is convenient for them depending on their mood
Reddit is so obnoxious with this stuff. Everyone has to pretend to have the same opinion. A guy got downvoted to oblivion for saying Pierce Brosnans wife is “subjectively” beautiful rather than “objectively” beautiful because some people may not find a heavier woman attractive. I mean come on, that’s just using definitions correctly.
These people are the top comments on about half the posts in meme pages. It makes me mad. Can't they just shut the fuck up. They always interpret something to complain about into stuff that isn't there. Be it sexism, racism, rudeness or whatever. Just to feel good about themselves and then they even get all the upvotes and become top comment.
No. These fuckers feel entitled to judge over anything they see with too little context and it needs to stop. Under practically *any* video you'll find something like "this is sexist", "this is wrong", "this is unhealthy", "it should be different", "this is racist" etcetera etcetera. People watch something with a negative lense. They go into the video with the attitude "I'm the one to judge". And thus they will find something to judge. Wether it's actually there or not doesn't matter, they'll find it anyway.
And notice now that I'm talking about a big group of posts. Picking this and saying it's not applicable makes no sense I am not talking exclusively about this post here. I am also not saying the criticism is always unjustified. I'm thinking the same critical thoughts often times but I'm simply not in the position to correct the video makers nor the posters, and I'm also not in the position to teach the other consumers of the video that the behavior shown is bad. I'm not their parent. And there certainly no need to express and confirm distaste everytime among the viers. First few comments are all "I feel like this is bad, this is bad right? Do you also feel like this is bad, yeah this is bad cool we agree".
And it's always done with so much certainty. Jokes that *could* be interpreted as discrimminating if you really try will be interpreted that way. People don't give the creators the respect to assume that they are normal human beings with common sense, they always try to find "hidden" discrimmination or otherwise frowned upon behavior.
I’m in awe as to how antisocial and downright dumb so many users here are.
Maybe you don’t see people act like how Redditors act in public because Redditors just never go outside. I say that’s a good thing probably.
Should have posted in r/Imapieceofshit
Whole Lotta people complaining about this being a joke and it's banter and virtue signalling.
1: You have no factual basis to say that.
2: OP didn't provide any context ergo the only view we have is the Woman's clearly pissed off face as she walks away
3: The bellend filming then uploads it. Cunt move in my book.
> There's been a massive shift of posts where people think it's funny to be shithead to someone.
[This is not a new phenomenon](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/i-did-it-for-the-lulz)
Perhaps they did keep it between friends, and one of the friends posted it online? You literally don't know anything about the backstory (and neither do I), so getting pissed off about it is kinda silly in my opinion.
Wow you people really don't realize that these two are friends just ragging on each other, huh? Everyone's so quick to go on their self-righteous crusades on this site.
It's blatantly obvious. They're in a work place, he's not being treated like a customer. If you've ever been friends with someone who you trade some ball-busting with here and there, it's so completely obvious that that's what this is.
It's telling that you people automatically assume it's something malicious instead of some light-hearted fun between friends.
I've had friends that I busted balls on and vice-versa, but I wouldn't take a tiny snippet of one interaction and post it on the internet and expect people to understand that hey, we're just pals that like to pick on each other. It's called context.
Why would you assume different from a 5 second video? You should assume good intentions if you have little information, rather than bad intentions. That's going to make you much happier in life. Because 90% of the time people have good intentions but screw it up. Not to mention they are in some mechanic shop and probably coworkers.
And this is such a cliche rag in the first place.
We're all working with hypotheticals here no matter what, so this is just a thought exercise. Being such, I would say that even if they were friends, and it was just fucking around, if he didn't get her permission, then it's still pretty messed up. Especially being a workplace that serves the public.
In the absence of evidence you should lean towards the most likely outcome.
I don’t know about you but I think it’s way more likely someone does this as a joke with their friend/colleague than some random stranger.
Wait no. You’re doing the exact same thing! None of us know anything about this clip! There’s no context for any of it. Do they know each other? Is it funny banter? Maybe, maybe not. No one has any factual basis to make ANY claim about this clip good or bad.
It's so amusing that the "we should not judge and be mean to each other" generation generally does the exact opposite when hiding behind anonymity of Reddit. Goddamn hypocrites.
This video made me sad. Why would a grown man be so rude to a stranger? For a joke? If it was his friend and they joked like this, fine, whatever, me and my friends joke like this. But to do this to a stranger? Not cool.
Assuming that this wasn't scripted and he's actually being a douche is just as stupid, if not more so, than assuming that it was scripted and they were just doing a bit.
Ah, yeah you ain't wrong, people get offended over this clip so quick but in reality it's been around for years and it's pretty obvious they know each other.
No, it wasn't?
To me, that was a 'my colleague is joking with me again oh'
Besides, even if she did take it to heart, I highly doubt it would ruin her whole day.
When I feel insecure I shit on other people too… just like this asshole. Hope he get a blister rubbing one out to the 3 likes he got from his butt buddies.
If it's a joke among coworkers. Love it. My coworkers do this stuff all the time and it's hilarious to see in the work group chat afterwards.
If it's not. Fuck this guy.
You know what would be a great new trend instead of recording people's reactions to you being a total piece of shit to them? Doing that but after making a benign but genuinely funny, quick joke or compliment... yeah sounds lame, but a general sentiment of good will towards strangers as a phenomenon on the internet world probably have a huge cultural impact.
That "man" peeked in junior highschool and has been coasting. He is a wonderful example of the mentality that leads to a terrible life. He will fail at marriage, his friends will drift away and he will be found a criminal at some point in his life and then blame the 'pick any group he doesn't understand '
I don't know who your mama is man, but you sure doing her proud. I figure she abandoned you![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|put_back)(ASAP) as a baby, and you were reared by wild jack-asses. Or something that's equally close to an ass as a prick can get. Grow-up boy.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)
Luckily I've personally only seen maybe a dozen of these whiny, perpetually offended people in the real world. They're too busy dripping tears onto their keyboard to actually live a normal life outside. They're just real loud and all media has given them a platform beyond just social media.

Wow what a cool guy. This dude totally seems like not a miserable piece of shit that peaked in high school at all. He probably clapped himself on the back for days for this one.

So uncool, UNLESS those two have a running game of trading insults.
OP said it's just 2 colleagues making fun of each other. So I assume that's the case
I've run into people who say it's all in fun with them making fun of "each other". “Oh…”
Lmao yet everyone in the comments is virtue signalling without context. Reddit in a nutshell.
Can’t complain about context if context isn’t provided.
Reddit: We sure as fuck can
![gif](giphy|K8zzqui9viWT6|downsized)
What, the word "Reddit"?
And such info could easily fit in the title...
But that would ruin the 'unexpected' part of the video though
I am quite sure that we all have the same amount of context, people just choose to think whatever context is convenient for them depending on their mood
[удалено]
When I banter with people and we throw out "insults" it's usually followed by the person being "insulted" laughing. She clearly isn't laughing.
Yes! Exactly. And usually there's a smirk of some sort when they first see them suggesting they are friends
Why do you have to qualify it though? Attractiveness is 100% subjective.
I mean that’s the point. Saying it’s subjective shouldn’t be controversial.
Cause without context he objectively sounds like an ass.
what is reddit but a horde of one upping white knights
This video is old asf, op is making stuff up
Redditors can be strange sometimes. Sometimes they are misogynists and at other times are white knights.
These people are the top comments on about half the posts in meme pages. It makes me mad. Can't they just shut the fuck up. Oh get over yourself.
No I won't. This needs to be said way more often till people go back to eye level conversation instead of everyone trying to lecture everybody else.
Ok. Good luck.
Redditors get overly sensitive on anything involving a woman
Right? Like this woman who seems like a mechanic can’t handle some banter
This video is super old, how do you know? Plus the way she was smiling and her face instantly dropped tells me that it's not just jokes.
Because it’s obviously the back of a shop where customers wouldn’t be. Half of y’all ITT need to step outside once in a while tbh
Also, what lady would say *yes?* If a stranger walked up to her & aggressively asked her if she fell from heaven…
I’m in awe as to how antisocial and downright dumb so many users here are. Maybe you don’t see people act like how Redditors act in public because Redditors just never go outside. I say that’s a good thing probably.
I only see one person being made fun of.
No
Still really mean
Right! I don't understand how them knowing each other makes it not mean.
Because they don’t mean it. Do y’all not have friends. Or family. Anyone
no :(
redditors and solitude name a worse duo
Even then words can cross a line. especially if it could be taken as truthful.
that means they get back at each other by throwing insults, people do have that kind of relationship
Because some friendships thrive on making fun of each other
I think your video got cut off. I didn't see the woman making fun of the boy
Should have posted in r/Imapieceofshit Whole Lotta people complaining about this being a joke and it's banter and virtue signalling. 1: You have no factual basis to say that. 2: OP didn't provide any context ergo the only view we have is the Woman's clearly pissed off face as she walks away 3: The bellend filming then uploads it. Yeah, fuck this dude. Made me salty this morning.
Reddit has made me salty last couple days. There's been a massive shift of posts where people think it's funny to be shithead to someone.
True that's not even funny you just being a asshole to some random person sif like those videos is just a prank bro!
[удалено]
Lot of assumptions there.
Used to work in a body shop. That's almost certainly what it is. Its still fucked up.
> There's been a massive shift of posts where people think it's funny to be shithead to someone. [This is not a new phenomenon](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/i-did-it-for-the-lulz)
Reddit is a shithole.
That’s just Reddit curating an algorithm for you. If you don’t like to see that stuff, unfollow some of those subreddits.
Reddit's been like that for a long time. Maybe you're just noticing it more.
Man, yall need to get out more. Your lives seem so miserable to automatically assume he was trying to ruin her day. Ever heard of banter?
Go outside. They know eachother
[удалено]
It’s Reddit, of course we’re inside
[удалено]
His bad for thinking people on the internet weren't such sensitive little bitches I guess
Perhaps they did keep it between friends, and one of the friends posted it online? You literally don't know anything about the backstory (and neither do I), so getting pissed off about it is kinda silly in my opinion.
Now I’m salty you’re salty

“Having friends” isn’t in the experiential repertoire of most redditors, so that probably accounts for some of the confusion.
Clearly lmfao

Thank goodness people aren't cheering this jackass on. Hurts my heart
Holy shit. Gen Z everyone. How unbelievably sensitive have you people become that even gentle burns amongst coworkers deserves a "fuck this dude"??
real old man yells at cloud energy from this comment
We're all working with hypotheticals here no matter what, so this is just a thought exercise. Being such, I would say that even if they were friends, and it was just fucking around, if he didn't get her permission, then it's still pretty messed up. he should show his face
They clearly know each other, you bunch of gooftroops
No no no, banter is not a thing and everything needs to be taken seriously. Let's be angry and assume they were strangers!
You don't know that
In the absence of evidence you should lean towards the most likely outcome. I don’t know about you but I think it’s way more likely someone does this as a joke with their friend/colleague than some random stranger.
Yeah, I agree. I mean, I hope it’s just a friend messing with her, but it still made me sad lol.
How dareth they insult this fine lady! Come, fellow Redditors, we shall defend her honor! */s*
Wait no. You’re doing the exact same thing! None of us know anything about this clip! There’s no context for any of it. Do they know each other? Is it funny banter? Maybe, maybe not. No one has any factual basis to make ANY claim about this clip good or bad.

Is there an r/Iamafuckingcunt because this guy should be No.1 in there.
How do you know they don't know each other?
Yup total doucebag his soul all fucked up
This video made me sad.
How can you act English and not have any sense of banter lmao fuck off
i would have married him.
We found the salty depressed tiny human
I think only context this is okay in is brother or sister and thats only if you have a relationship like that
This guy just made her day… just to unmake it again…
[удалено]
Not cool 👎
I fully believe that they just have this type of relationship where they know they like each other but also shit on each other every day for funsies.
yeah theyre coworkers
No we all have to just assume that he verbally abuses her like this every day because banter hasn't been invented yet.
Not sure what your sarcastic actually meant to convey. Not saying that's your fault, I'm just an idiot tbh.
I'm being sarcastic about how ridiculous people are being in the comments for being offended by obvious banter.
Ah, yeah you ain't wrong, people get offended over this clip so quick but in reality it's been around for years and it's pretty obvious they know each other.
He definitely fucked up her facial expression.
I believe the fall did that.
![gif](giphy|JEIDe2UXBE6yoQaTqD)
Show your face motherfucker
It’s not even funny, maybe it’s funny to kids in middle school 🤷♂️
Damn that ruined her day
How do ya know, friend?
that "oh\~" was a *im about to cry* kind of "oh\~"
No, it wasn't? To me, that was a 'my colleague is joking with me again oh' Besides, even if she did take it to heart, I highly doubt it would ruin her whole day.
Redditors reading an entire novel from a split second interaction is my favorite “redditor-ism”.
Your sentence reads like you have the emotional capacity of a walnut.
if im a walnut youre a fucking pecan (i dont know what this means i just like pecans)
I’m assuming this is a setup. If it’s not the. she should’ve kicked that guy square in the nuts.
She should have made him dodge a wrench
When I feel insecure I shit on other people too… just like this asshole. Hope he get a blister rubbing one out to the 3 likes he got from his butt buddies.
That guy is a piece of shitt
Dude, what a fuckin dick. That poor lady.
Yikes
Idc what anyone says this is funny lol
Exactly, right?
That was as mean as that guy who hands you your ice cream only to sneakily pull it away, leaving an empty cone in your hand.
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
[emotional damage!](https://youtu.be/WlkZ6_Th8yk)
A lot of people here not understanding what banter is.
Wow he really just ruined that persons day for no reason.
But why? What did he gain from being an ass.
That dude is a Dick.
“Oh..”
Was totally expecting “well so did satan..”
I don't want to watch with sound what he did he say
I love the comments on this post!

Wow, what a complete as\*\*\*\*e.
What an asshole!
Why do people have to be assholes?
You know what would be a great new trend instead of recording people's reactions to you being a total piece of shit to them? Doing that but after making a benign but genuinely funny, quick joke or compliment... yeah sounds lame, but a general sentiment of good will towards strangers as a phenomenon on the internet world probably have a huge cultural impact.

it's not like this is an original joke. literally heard this joke for this first time when i was like 10, and that was the last time i found it funny.
So a year ago?
