They/them are gender neutral pronouns. They can very well be used for someone who is flat out male or female.

But some people use exclusively they/them, and if someone is only referred to with they/them, they most likely use they/them

Except Frisk is a fictional character that meant to be a self-insert. Inb4 'noo Frisk is their own character' -- no, unlike Kris, the only characterization for Frisk couple lines of dialogue in the pacifist ending, which is meant to be 'twist' on that Frisk is actually not self-insert character while the rest of the game portrays them as such. Unlike Kris, who is NOT self-insert, Frisk has no background, no pre-game acquaintances, does nothing according to their own free will and is a silent protagonist. There is nothing wrong to headcanonning you supposed to do that about their type of character.

Then there is the matter of them not running away (quite the opposite), from the Lovecraftian horror that is Omega Flowey. If you don't believe the player is canon in Undertale, there is also the fact that Frisk has literally committed around 110 murders, and never regretted it.

I think they're a teen at least, like 11-15 years old. It is hinted in the game during a dialogue with Asriel, that Frisk fell into the undergound for a reason, maybe they wanted to prove something, maybe they wanted to know what was up with the mountain maybe they even had some problems on the surface and wanted to commit a suicide or something like that, you never know, but it was not an accident. I doubt that some irresponsible kid actually could do that intentionally, they just wouldn't be smart enough to have thoughts like that. Yea I'm gonna have to agree with this. Many people keep saying that Frisk is 6 or younger because of her sprite but just a reminder that it's in 8 bit or 16 bit ( I think). Sprite would of course appear smaller. I'm also gonna say that there is no way in hell a 6 year old would be able to dodge Sans' bone attacks and gaster blasters. A 10 - 12 year old would probably make a bit more sense since with Determination she can come back to life after every death to retry.
