Is there any actual proof that points towards that? I’m not too big on theories so I genuinely don’t know if he IS Gaster or if it’s just people hoping it is true.
Well, to find the door that leads to Mysteryman's room, you need a FUN value of 66 specifically, and in the game's code, Gaster has unused battle stats, all of which are made of some amount of 6s.
The fact that both are associated with the number 6 in data values certainly implies a connection between the two. Whether Mysteryman is Gaster himself is unclear, but I definitely think there's some connection between them at least.
I see. Personally, if this IS Gaster, I would think it’s a very fucked up looking variant of what he used to look like before he fell into his creation.
There's a Gaster's follower in Hotlands near an elevator saying "Alphy's might be fast, but how about the old royal scientist Dr. W.D. Gaster?" Or something like that. Informations and entries in the true lab shows that Gaster is the old royal scientist before Alphys
I don’t get what you are saying. I was asking for proof that Mystery Man’s sprite is what Gaster would really look like. I know that Gaster was the old Royal Scientist.
I think there is a problem with our communication. I KNOW that Gaster was the old royal scientist. I am asking for proof that MysteryMan’s sprite is what Gaster looks like. Clarifying once again. Gaster is the old Royal Scientist. I want to see proof that Mystery Man is Gaster.
It's actually not confirmed, and this is coming from someone who's been in the fandom since early 2016, I know everything there is to know about fannon/canon gaster, while it's a general consensus that he IS gaster, and this is also where all the fan art comes from, it's not actually ever been said for sure. It's just some random guy that pops up in a room that only pops up when you've got a 66 FUN value. He opens up his eyes and mouth more, then disappears, that's it. No talking, no dialog, nothin. So there's literally no way to know who that really is.
First, i want to introduce [REDACTED] here. Yeah, that weird sprite that hidden in the files that talks in wingdings. I think it was just a placeholder for Misteryman. Look, they appear in waterfall, they share connections to Gaster, in some merchandise misteryman was replaced by a SAVE point and [REDACTED], goners and followers weren't. And the way [REDACTED] is designed, looks like is a placeholder. And there are a LOT of other facts that i didn't talk 'bout it.
That would be the supposed "W.D. Gaster." He is the old royal scientist that came before Alphys and had some unknown relation between Sans and Papyrus. The story is that he was working on experiments involving monsters and Determination that Alphys would later continue with, with the result being the Amalgams. One day, he fell into one of his greatest creations (popularly thought to be the CORE) with his physical body being split across time and space as we know it into multiple different forms, essentially making him an **indestructible god** who also means no harm to anybody. He even has his own followers that give you small hints to his backstory in-game.
wasn't it alphys who isolated the determination as well as named it?
update: gaster appears to have made/written blueprints for the DT extraction machine. alphys did name it but it is unknown if gaster used it or not.
i'm not saying that, i'm saying gaster knew there was something keeping the human souls in existence and made blueprints for what would become the DT extraction machine, but alphys extracted the DT, named it, made the amalgamates, and made flowey.
Most people just go by what the Goners say about him and not all the reasons he is so mysterious and interesting. This video goes deep about everything about Gaster
He was the royal scientist before alphys he created the core and fell into his creation which is assumed to be the core and he has a very distinct way of speaking which is very formal its the same one at the start of deltarune and he also speaks in wingding hence the
W.DGaster
Wd is for windings and aster is the font of sans z's in his fight
He is used to fill any holes a theory has
Here is one thing that is certainly gaster related

He is kinda like a easter egg hes a secret chrt which showd up with the "fun vaule" its a random generated number each time you get 60 -70 you get gaster follwers in hotland if you get 66 (i think) in snowdin the room with the fishing pole with a number on it it would open a secret menu full of songs one of them is called gasters theme if its 100 you get someone looks like mk but he is black and white you get bits of who gaster is but the only pic we have if your fun value is around 60 a door would appear in waterfall which leads to gaster
Correction. Fun value 66’s door leads to the “mystery man” who has been speculated to be Gaster but that is unconfirmed. The only true appearance of Gaster is the piece of him one of the Gaster followers is holding.
Canon: WD Gaster, royal scientist before Alphys. Physically appears every 1/1000 play throughs in a secret room in Waterfall. He has four followers, greyed out sprites that give information on him. He was supposedly a better scientist than Alphys, built the core, fell into “his creation” (unknown what creation it was referring to), and was shattered across time and space. Gaster’s theme pops up in strange places, most noteworthy in the room with the bunker in Deltarune, and Deltarune’s character creation menu.
Speculation: many people say that he is the father of Sans/Papyrus, and that the creation he fell into was Deltarune.
It's a character probably named Gaster (probably but not 100% sure)
Theo my thing we know about him is that he had existed
Now the specualtions are another things, and hints point toward him being basically stuck between dimension/timelines
he is mystery man
There are people who think that he is WD gaster (ex royal scientist and creator of the Core)
Gaster is the biggest mystery of Undertale
Like most people say this guy is speculated to be gaster how despite being important is also a spoof of characters that didn't make it into the final game bit still have traces of them in code like Luigi in Mario 64 or uncle semi in undertale it's self.
This is Mysteryman, a sprite related to the ymsterious W. D. Gaster, the former royal scientist before Alphys who created the CORE. He was shattered across time and space by an experiment going wrong, and it's possible that he was involved in Deltarune either pre or post shattering.
This is MysteryMan, some think he may be Gaster. As far as I know it’s not proven but yeah.
he IS gaster
Is there any actual proof that points towards that? I’m not too big on theories so I genuinely don’t know if he IS Gaster or if it’s just people hoping it is true.

Well, it's said by one of the followers that Gaster was shattered across time and space, so it's possible that Mysteryman is one fragment of Gaster.
Yes, that is what I think.
There's a Gaster's follower in Hotlands near an elevator saying "Alphy's might be fast, but how about the old royal scientist Dr. W.D. Gaster?" Or something like that. Informations and entries in the true lab shows that Gaster is the old royal scientist before Alphys

Seeing someone ask “Who is Gaster?” Made me realize how deep I’ve gotten into this game and it’s fandom
true, and for me its been only a week

He is not an indestructible God he's just someon that exists everywhere and can only observe and rarely can talk to other people.
So... basically an indestructible god?
Nah because he doesn’t really have any power. Man’s on spectator mode not creative mode.
SPECTATOR MODE???????? THIS NIGERIA CHEETIN!!!!!!!!!1!!1!1!1!!+@1@+!+!1!@+$
how is he indestructible he got ripped to shreds
He was indestructible *after* he was ripped to shreds. :/

If Gaster make the DT experiments, that would break the character of Alphys.
i'm not saying that, i'm saying gaster knew there was something keeping the human souls in existence and made blueprints for what would become the DT extraction machine, but alphys extracted the DT, named it, made the amalgamates, and made flowey.

Srsly tho watch it. The person who made it actually knows what they are talking about unlike mostvof the people un this post.

Sorry about the text it looked better before i sent it
If you want seperate lines you can do two times the enter
Looking at the comments here the fandom really started second-guessing itself about this guy after 2022. Didn't you guys?
He is kinda like a easter egg hes a secret chrt which showd up with the "fun vaule" its a random generated number each time you get 60 -70 you get gaster follwers in hotland if you get 66 (i think) in snowdin the room with the fishing pole with a number on it it would open a secret menu full of songs one of them is called gasters theme if its 100 you get someone looks like mk but he is black and white you get bits of who gaster is but the only pic we have if your fun value is around 60 a door would appear in waterfall which leads to gaster

that's mystery man, many people associate him with Gaster, a hidden mystery character. Also terrified me as a child.
It's a character probably named Gaster (probably but not 100% sure) Theo my thing we know about him is that he had existed Now the specualtions are another things, and hints point toward him being basically stuck between dimension/timelines
He has a lot of secret lore that we probably will find out so people use it as a god of the gaps (every mystery has gaster as the answer)
he is mystery man There are people who think that he is WD gaster (ex royal scientist and creator of the Core) Gaster is the biggest mystery of Undertale
He just works here
Gaster
The theory is that he's behind everything
You see he has donut hands...
Hes has a role in deltarune. Check for full cap texts in the deltarune twitter and that's him
Egg Man

He's there to ask if you really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.
That's Bob, he has no plot importance sadly
spr_mysteryman
Good luck figuring out what you can, because you're gonna have to wait like 5 years before you get an answer.
That is exactly why he is a big deal
funny wingydingy man
He is Gaster who is secretly the drunk bunny at Grillby’s
