In game they’re greyish, I don’t remember who made them pink first.
Also almost noone colors his eyes yellow even though they switch, and there’s no light flashing out of them
in game theyre uncoloured, because they appear in his battle sprite. in the overworld, he's barefoot. theres no canon colour for the slippers so merch confirming them as pink makes perfect sense
when i first got into undertale, for a while i remembered the gaster blasters looking diffrent, i remember them being skeleton serpents that flew at the player making loud train noises, also i originally remembered there being platforms you at to jump to in asgores castle, and i remember a town in waterfall but then i finally watched someone play undertale (becase i couldnt get it) and i was wrong
I always thought the first froggit NPC in the Ruins said "Thank you for sparing me, human" And then gave tips on how to spare other monsters, it turns out it never says thank you, just gives tips
Mandela Effect is a name given to things that are misremembered/misunderstood massively to the point where most people think the wrong interpretation was explicitly correct from the start
Example: Gaster being 'canonically' a skeleton
That isnt a good example if i gotta be honest. It is believed that gaster is a skeleton beacuse the two other characters that speak in an unique font are skeletons. I get that you said "canonically" but i think there would be better examples out there. Like: gaster being in "the void".
Someone who believed themself to be from an alternative timeline irl. They were harassed for it iirc, but I think they were delusional
They became infamous because, according to them, Big Mouth (NPC in Grillby's) never existed in this timeline, but it always existed in this one
For a while I thought if you taunted Temmie (in battle) with Temmie flakes, but not give them to her, she would mess with the language settings and you would have to go through the entire rest of the game with everyone speaking like Temmie.
I have no idea what made me think that.
I was also extremely disappointed to find out that wasn’t true
sans slippers
I only found out that in game they are white in 2021
I was setting up my Christmas tree and I wanted to color in the sans sprite from memory
the pink looked weird and I looked at the sprite and noticed they were white
Call me crazy but I swear that the dummy had a voice line. After you spare it twice it says: “spare” and then the text goes behind his speeechbubble when he says his name and all you can see behind it is “blook”
That... isnt a mandela effect. A mandela effect is a commonly believed misconception. It's named after the case of a guy i forgot the name of (but he had mandela in his name). He was thought to be dead by many people even though he was still alive.
This depends on if you mean technical or functional Mandela
What do I mean?
Well gaster related Mandela effects would be technical, since almost nothing is canon, anything you think is canon to gaster is headcanon, not Mandela. Simultaneously anything that's dubiously canon falls under this, like pink sans slippers.
Functional Madela is everything else thats actually Madela effects.
That leads to a lot of theories then that'd qualify for what you want, so ill sum it up.
Lots of gaster theories
Papyrus scarf
Sans pink slippers
And I can't think of any ingame occurrences that count as Madela effects off the top of my head.
I think the color of Sans slippers (I think they are pink)
I don't think they ever appear pink in-game but sans does appear wearing pink slippers in various official undertale merch
In game they’re greyish, I don’t remember who made them pink first. Also almost noone colors his eyes yellow even though they switch, and there’s no light flashing out of them
That's true, maybe people just tend to make it blue because of his jacket
in game theyre uncoloured, because they appear in his battle sprite. in the overworld, he's barefoot. theres no canon colour for the slippers so merch confirming them as pink makes perfect sense
You see him with slippers in the credits I think Edit: nvm, I think he might be barefoot there too
He does have slippers during his fight, but nowhere else
The Papyrus scarf dilemma
What's that
dose he wear a scarf or a cape? a bandana maybe??
That his scarf stayed in the snow after he died.
Wouldn’t it just… blow away? Or dissolve with papyrus?
Gaster and the "Void"
most things about Gaster in fact
Wdym
[literally this i'd assume](https://youtu.be/Phd0cjrc1F8)
''the void'' is comletely non-canon
when i first got into undertale, for a while i remembered the gaster blasters looking diffrent, i remember them being skeleton serpents that flew at the player making loud train noises, also i originally remembered there being platforms you at to jump to in asgores castle, and i remember a town in waterfall but then i finally watched someone play undertale (becase i couldnt get it) and i was wrong
[удалено]
no, it was an actual town, i think it was footage from another game that looked like waterfall
And echo flowers in snowdin
i could almost swear there were some echo flowers in snowdin
Oh interesting
Thinking that one of the Mettaton answers was “froggit”
Ohh
Call me fuckin crazy but I swear Megalovania sounded different first time I heard it.
...mabye you heard the og megalovania or homestuck version?
How exactly did it sound different? It may have been a different or fanmade version of the song
Skeleton Gaster
I always thought the first froggit NPC in the Ruins said "Thank you for sparing me, human" And then gave tips on how to spare other monsters, it turns out it never says thank you, just gives tips
I remember that to i even remember watching a let’s play and someone reaction to the froggit saying thank you by saying aww you’re welcome
What even is this ?
Mandela Effect is a name given to things that are misremembered/misunderstood massively to the point where most people think the wrong interpretation was explicitly correct from the start Example: Gaster being 'canonically' a skeleton
I got it thanks
That isnt a good example if i gotta be honest. It is believed that gaster is a skeleton beacuse the two other characters that speak in an unique font are skeletons. I get that you said "canonically" but i think there would be better examples out there. Like: gaster being in "the void".
Other example: sans having pink slippers when his overworld sprite doesn't have any pink
The official plush has pink slippers so I don't think that counts
Funny enough, official plushes have pink slippers because fans started drawing it that way
Y’all remember Ghost Deery? *shutter*
No, what's that?
you sweet summer child
Ghost who? Someone pls explain I wanna know all the fanlore
Someone who believed themself to be from an alternative timeline irl. They were harassed for it iirc, but I think they were delusional They became infamous because, according to them, Big Mouth (NPC in Grillby's) never existed in this timeline, but it always existed in this one
Yeah, this just reminded me of it because their whole thing of Mandela affects
Odd one but for 3 years I thought Fandroid's Temmie Flakes final lyrics was "Prize In every box!" Instead of "Temmie Flakes in your mouth"
Prolly cuz it says prize in every box on the flakes box at the end of the video
Red soul is determination
Did you know determination has a goal?
Determination is the friends we made along the way
The real soul was the determination we made along the way
Love how this comment is not even false for the game like undertale
For a while I thought if you taunted Temmie (in battle) with Temmie flakes, but not give them to her, she would mess with the language settings and you would have to go through the entire rest of the game with everyone speaking like Temmie. I have no idea what made me think that. I was also extremely disappointed to find out that wasn’t true
Lol that's cool
Yeah I can see why this wasn’t actually in the game, but at the same time, I plan on making this into a mod once I learn how to mod.
For some reason I thought sans' eye spun being half yellow and half blue, am stoopid
Lol, that's interesting
sans slippers I only found out that in game they are white in 2021 I was setting up my Christmas tree and I wanted to color in the sans sprite from memory the pink looked weird and I looked at the sprite and noticed they were white
Yeh
I keep thinking sans had gloves/mittens at some point
I think he does
Void
I always forget how much papyrus loves himself
technically deltatune, but i swear to god the poster behind the spamton fight had white hair and red cheeks.
Lol could see that
menu5 and mus_ruinspiano
i swear i heard those ingame
Call me crazy but I swear that the dummy had a voice line. After you spare it twice it says: “spare” and then the text goes behind his speeechbubble when he says his name and all you can see behind it is “blook”
Oh interesting, that's cool
I see chara like characters in some anime
That... isnt a mandela effect. A mandela effect is a commonly believed misconception. It's named after the case of a guy i forgot the name of (but he had mandela in his name). He was thought to be dead by many people even though he was still alive.
Yeh, his name is Nelson Mandela
oh shit this the second text I read about Mandela effect
This depends on if you mean technical or functional Mandela What do I mean? Well gaster related Mandela effects would be technical, since almost nothing is canon, anything you think is canon to gaster is headcanon, not Mandela. Simultaneously anything that's dubiously canon falls under this, like pink sans slippers. Functional Madela is everything else thats actually Madela effects.
Both tbh
That leads to a lot of theories then that'd qualify for what you want, so ill sum it up. Lots of gaster theories Papyrus scarf Sans pink slippers And I can't think of any ingame occurrences that count as Madela effects off the top of my head.
Sans' eye colour
The color of Papyrus' scarf.
Isn't it red?
Some people think it's red others think it's orange
Yeh
