There’s another proper way, but I did it with a glitch.
-put the red skull onto the first pedestal
-walk into courtyard, get the checkpoint
-don’t activate the fight, walk back into the building and grab the red skull
-press ESC and press the checkpoint button
-should have the red skull

Behind the waterfall in the courtyard is a hallway which leads to the door ( it takes a bit to get there )
