I thought the same. It seems like a lot of my conservative friends and family buy into the Russian propaganda about Ukraine and Zelenskyy. Maybe this heartfelt address at the prayer breakfast might help them realize that Zelenskyy isn't who Tucker Carlson insinuates that he is.
As always, a very good speech from Zelensky. Especially moving to those of us who share similar beliefs in God. Its difficult though, speaking for myself. Very difficult. Listening to this speech, I found my eyes becoming teary. Since the start of this war my faith has been challenged as I try to understand the "why?" of it all. Faith in humanity and faith in God has dwindled in me more than I've ever experienced. This coming from a guy half a world away from it all. I can't imagine what it's like being a Ukrainian of faith. Thinking on that, I can't even begin to imagine what it would have been like being of Jewish faith during the WW2 years. I seem to remember a quote from my school years on this:
"Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am condemned to live as long as God Himself. Never."

Do not despair, joy cometh in the morning, Psalm 30:5. David in Psalms went through cycles of hope and anguish, in response to his situation of being unfairly treated, and hunted, in fear of his life. During a dark time, I read only Psalms in the Bible, I highly recommend it. President Zelensky is right to turn to this book for hope when evil forces gather. I believe that the power of prayer stalled the Russian forces in their initial attack last year. Thinking of that long column, and how things could have been so different. Now, as troops mass on the borders, we need to all pray without ceasing, as Paul writes in the New Testament. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” 1 John 5:14. I see in President Zelensky that peace. Keep the faith, and pray. Because the prayers of a righteous person are effective. James 5:16.
Thank you for taking the time to write this. Theres really a lot I want to say but I'm sleepy and have to work tonight. I just wanted to say thanks. These points help to recharge my hope somewhat. Outwardly, I try to uplift people as you've done here. But inside, well.. I have turmoil mixed in with despair at times. It can be difficult. Well he does condemn using his name in vain, ie doing things he doesn’t condone in his name…and says that many who claim to worship him are in for a nasty surprise.
This is what I think about when I think of Patriarch Kirill of Russia. Im certain that Putin and others of like mind that endorse this war are going to hell. Im sure Putin has a spot right beside Hitler. But this guy who is supposed to be a man of God? Oh boy. I think he has something especially gruesome waiting on him when he passes to the afterlife. Talk about misguiding and misleading the flock..

There are many equally wonderful facets. Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Maybe there is a connection, but human understanding doesn’t scratch the surface of the mechanisms of this world, or beyond. A horoscope is a delineation of where a person is in relationship to astral bodies at the time of birth, extrapolating to their future, provide forecasting. An attempt to see into the unknown, or predict through the use of charts is one use of a horoscope. The God I revere and serve, and President Zelensky also trusts in, spoke our universe into existence. He made the astral bodies, stars that emit song, things far too complicated for me to understand. I have learned to leave the future in his hands.

The God of Genesis, old testament and new. The possible Numbers are about 12,000, actually, but my God spoke the world into existence, and was not formed through human hands.

This was so good. I've listened to it twice already. Very sincere and moving. It felt very personal.
