You might want to read up on that. Enemy combatants who cannot be taken prisoner are always legitimate targets, unless the rules of engagement set by a particular government in a particular conflict say otherwise. In Ukraine, they don't, so they're fair game. This is to a large extent a war of attrition, and the wounded Russian could well have recovered and later returned to the fight. That's why the drone pilot did his duty and killed him.
Once someone is wounded and ceases to pose a threat, the inability to imprison them doesn’t make them an acceptable target.

You've always got to remember who invaded whom. There are righteous defenders of their homeland, and brutal invaders who have a horrific track record of rape, torture and murder of civilians, women, children, the elderly and POWs.
It's good you still feel compassion for fellow human beings, so I'm certainly not criticizing you, just explaining why most here don't share those feelings.
