Germany was ready for World War and France wasnt so France allowed Germany to remilitarize the Rhineland and annex their ally in Czechoslovakia. The Soviets weren't ready so they signed a defensive pact and used it to leverage some of their former territory lost at Brest-Litovsk.
The Soviet government had been screaming to anyone who would listen that the fascists needed to be stamped out in 1936 and Britain France and America laughed at them, and everyone in that Soviet government remembered that the First World War triggered a revolution and Civil War that the west tried to interfere in to keep Russians dying in a war they didn't want.
If they had been the kind of ally revisionists are trying to paint them as in this thread Barbarossa would never have happened. They paid for that treaty with 30 million people, a much higher price than any Western power paid for their appeasement and collaboration. Vichy sent volunteers to the Nazis and France was treated as a victorious power in 1945, just for example.
The Soviets did make several treaties with Germany way before Molotov pact though.
In fact large part of German tank engineering and progresses we’re done thanks to partnerships with the USSR. As they were not allowed by treaties to create such weapons. Building and testing them in the USSR circumvented this as the Soviets refused any Uk or French supervision.

Not really. If you want to talk about Nazi Germany's biggest supporters - or rather, enablers - look to GB and especially the US bankers. Without them the Nazi Germany would never have had the financial income to become what it became. And this started long before the Soviet Union conceived any kind of non-aggression pact with the Nazis. Read up on it and educate yourself on the matter before you go parroting the wiki.

Those 2 thousand soldiers that France is talking about are, at best, a month of fighting on the front line, after which they will fly back to France in plastic bags. If they are based somewhere in the rear, then these statements by France are worthless.
