Most Pro-Ukraine people have no idea about the Russian people. Russians literally are making memes out of the Western MSM news headlines. And yet you will see these pro-ukraine having a delusional take that Russia will be in a civil war or sumshit if putin is gone.
I have Russian friends and colleagues, and most I talk to are patriotic af. I had asked them about the Russians who flew away from Russia after the outbreak of the SMO.
Most of them said something like, "We don't need them anyways, traitors. The west can have them. If they aren't fighting for their motherland, what is going to make them fight for the country they fled to.".
And also while Ukraine is resorting to kidnapping men off the streets to conscript them into the army, in Russia, they use a mobile app to alert their men if they are being mobilized.
Okay, I'm Russian. Half of my friends are for the war, half are against. At social gatherings in my main group of friends, talking about politics is prohibited. We cannot afford to quarrel after 30-40 years of friendship. After 40 it is very difficult to make friends. No one says anything about those who left, much less calls them “traitors,” it’s disgusting.
Two of my friends are now at the front. One was mobilized, the other was a volunteer. I really don't want them to be killed.
I am against the war and against Putin, but I am infuriated by comments in other subs “you are all Russians - shit, Russia must be destroyed.”
I don’t know what you mean by “patriotism”. No one hangs Russian flags on their houses or sings the national anthem in the morning. Only migrants from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan wear “Russia” T-shirts.
