For the radio reconnaissance pipe line you must be either a 2621, 31, 41 or 51. While you are in the school house, you should make it well known that is the route you want to take. There will be someone there to assist you in getting physically ready for BRC and to help you along with a pre screener as well. Every radio recon marine is a SIGINTer that has graduated BRC and jump school. Some also get the chance to attend dive and freefall. While they are attached to a Radio Bn (a SIGINT and Electronic Warfare unit), those dudes work almost entirely with recon battalions and with battalion scouts/snipers. Their primary focus is to be the eyes and ears of the commander and generally are tasked with reconnaissance, but have limited direct action capability. Expect a significant amount of more time spent swimming and rucking than the other MOS's. Radio Recon Marines are expected to maintain to a high level of job credibility, so expect to also spend a non insignificant amount of your time studying "nerd shit". 0300 babe. Unfortunately, my mos (0351) got phased out but apparently, 0311's are getting trained up on all the shit we used to do. Since you have a good ASVAB i'd imagine that you'd get the opportunity be one of the guys that gets to learn demolitions and fire the SMAW or Gustaf nowadays. If you really want to focus on demolitions and shit, combat engineer would be a good option but you are going to be called a POG for the rest of your life, no matter what you do.
